Morning all.

So we're entering the last four weeks. Still time to lose a good few pounds before we reach the end.

here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I can see already that we've had some great results, and look forward to seeing/hearing about the rest!

Balls. Just placed and order MrsK. Got 20% off though.

Not managed to eat yet today. So chilli with sour cream and cheese for dinner

Day 32 no alcohol. Found yesterday a bit of a battle as I'd finished my 30 days. Still working out what my new rules are. It might be that I drink one evening a week. Or I might convince myself to hold off until I reach and maintain goal weight. Or it might be Friday GrinGrin

Ooh @8Track, that tandoori aubergine thing sounds good. Is it a recipe from ths spreadsheet?
Hope today is a better day @Takingontheworld.
I went for a run last night and it didn't feel hideous, so am optimistic my body is settling into the fat burning!

@BrassicaBabe, that is amazing will power 💪

@Tornfelt It was pretty delish! (Modest) I just made it up - chopped an aubergine and a courgette into 1-2cm pieces. Melted some coconut oil in a wok and added a big sprinkle of tandoori powder (I actually added a but more once it was cooking, as it didnt looka like enough!). Added the veg and stirred it all quickly to coat it, as aubergine is a bugger for just soaking up all the oil! Add a cup of water to stop it sticking, simmer down until the water is gone - maybe 5/10 minutes?

I reheated the portion (half of the above) today with 3 mins in the microwave, then another minute to melt some cheese on top. Ate it with a big dollop of yoghurt and a handful of jalapenos for a bit of a kick!

Dead easy.

Thanks! That does sound delish and will give it a try. Got a lonely courgette and aubergine lurking in the fridge somewhere 😂

Thanks all. I feel a bit paralysed with fear today, a bit disconnected from the world. My logical brain keeps kicking in to tell me its gonna be ok in the end if v difficult.. but its only fleeting.

I've managed to stay on track though suddenly not enjoying kale which is my staple green so I'm gonna need some go-to alternatives pdq.

I was excited for the work project this month, due to go away this weekend for it... I've entirely lost my mojo and my excitement has turned into having no energy and feeling overwhelmed by the commitment and deadlines now.
I can't see who offered now so sorry, but yes whilst it should be a legal case I cannot see it getting far and the buck stops with me in the eyes of the law i believe. Morally i hope the person who has done this to us loses sleep forever.

Sorry for your crappy news Taking. I've been made redundant before. I know a little of the fear and uncertainty you are facing. ThanksHope you can give yourself some time x

@Takingontheworld
I was the legal bod. Have you taken advice? Sometimes equity steps in to make things fair when the law is inadequate. Thanks

@Takingontheworld

I'm so sorry to hear of your woes - I hope it's never as bad as you fear.

But if it is, please know that there are lots of very clever and highly experienced people that can help you here, if you need help - via the legal boards, or the employment boards.

And please keep posting here anyway, for general emotional support Flowers

And as I said before, Taking, feel free to DM me if you don't want to give details on the Legal Matters board (although you'll find me there too!). Happy to give you a view- not much I haven't seen over the past 20 years!

@MrsKoala
What are you trying to do to me with all your skincare recommendations?! Any showers gels/soaps that aren't drying? I have psoriasis and love Clark's Botanicals but it's very spendy.

I had the cauliflower chicken Alfredo again today. It's my favourite thing by far, especially when cold the next day with salad.

@nowlook have you tried a milk bath to soothe your skin? I know it sounds mad but I put powdered milk in mine and the kids baths and I don’t use soap at all. I then use the Egyptian magic cream I mentioned before and feel like Cleopatra. Have you tried a shower oil instead of soap/gel? I like them as I have dry skin. Something like this oil might be good for you or rituals which I love and an oily sugar scrub like this is nice and not drying at all and good for prepping for fake tan.

All the skincare stuff goes a bit 'woosh' over my head. However I do have rosacea, so I might look at the site recommended.

takingontheworld just sending calm and peaceful thoughts for that sickening feeling of shock and disappointment. I had a small financial disaster 19 years ago and I felt foolish and hopeless, even though it wasn't really my fault. And in the end there was a way out that wasn't so disastrous as it appeared at first. He kind to yourself. Stay clear headed. Take whatever help is offered.

Had steak for dinner yesterday, and tonight had the most delicious Thai beef salad. All the better because the radishes, corriander, mint, rocket, chives were all from the garden.

nowlook I enjoyed the description of your buffet lunch 🤣 totally styled it out!

Interview on Friday (for my own job 🥺!!) I keep telling everyone I’m not bothered but I think I am - I feel quite discombobulated this week. I’ve asked for a more specialist role - so fingers crossed for that! But hmm. Weird week.

Taking my kids camping on Friday! Slightly concerned about remembering how to put the tent up, but Otherwise hoping for fun!

Thanks so much @MrsKoala!!

I actually have the Egyptian stuff (goodness knows why- must have been recommended at some point).

There's a few items on my list for Glossier makeup, so will give that a try now.

The biggest difference to my roseaca was a prescription cream called Soolantra. I'm too pig headed to go to my GP. So went to an online pharmacy. Sent a photo. Paid some money. Cream turned up. Fixed me right up.

Nipping in to share - really enjoying the time WFH is giving me to cook of an evening.

Tom yum salmon (in coconut oil), with konjac noodles and stir fried veg in coconut cream, with sesame roasted broccoli. Well chuffed!

Does anyone recognise the feelings of having a willpower allocation? That is you've got a bottle full of the stuff to last a week, a month etc and you are down to the dregs of the bottle?! If so, any idea what you do to replenish supplies?!

I've been a total lady of iron recently. I've swerved EVERYTHING. Now I'm suddenly really feeling weary and that everything is a battle. I read that small decisions take as much energy as big ones. So make one big decision then stop fighting the multitude of little decisions.

Nothing serious, I'm not about to fall face first into a white sliced loaf Grin Just sharing.

Brassica on some random diet/exercise tv programme I watched a while ago they did an experiment about willpower. If I remember rightly it went something like this. They had 2 groups of people, one group sat in a room with a plate full of freshly baked cookies that they weren't allowed to eat, the other group sat in a room with nothing there. Afterwards they all had to do an exercise for a certain length of time. The people in the group without the cookies outperformed the other group by a mile. The programme said it was because the people in the room with the cookies had used all their willpower up on not eating the cookies, so didnt have much left when it came to doing the exercise. Did that make sense?! Hope I am remembering it correctly!

Ah @brassicababe I did the exact same. My GP had given me a metronidazole cream and I couldn't face going back and arguing for the soolantra, so just went for the online pharmacy. Cost me about £25 more...but at least no hassle.

I bought soolantra online too as my doctor had never heard of it so would only give me metronidazole!

Report
venusandmars · 08/07/2020 23:11

@brassicababe ditto exactly with the Soolantra and online pharmacy. Seemed such a waste of NHS time/money to go to go and say that I've got some redness and itchy spots... Only for them to try mild not working creams, with several in-between appointments to get to the end result.

I tend to use it for about 2 months in every year.
