Week 2 - May '18 Low Carb Bootcamp - my favourite week!

BIWI · 21/05/2018 07:20

Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet

I love this week, seeing how much weight people lose, and especially as it's always such a surprise for newbies and those who feared that this WOE wouldn't work!

I hope you've all seen good results.

If you haven't - don't despair, but have a think about the week just gone. Look at what you were eating/drinking and consider how well you followed Bootcamp rules.

Any problems, as ever, post them on the thread.

ShockGrin

Includes getting my period though but all the same I’m thrilled!

farine · 21/05/2018 09:18

@AromaticSpices I think it should be 171 and 165 and you've lost 6lbs

AromaticSpices · 21/05/2018 09:18

Well done everyone for good losses this week!

I've just done an M&S run and found the porky crispy things which I had for breakfast - I don't usually have breakfast but fancied them Blush

Have yet more drumsticks, cheese, cucumber, salad for lunch.

For dinner I am going to try a recipe I found for carbonara, made with shredded cabbage instead of the pasta. So egg, bacon, parmesan, chili, and steamed cabbage all mixed up. Recipe here for anyone interested: www.lowcarb-ology.com/low-carb-cabbage-carbonara-recipe/

MrsBertBibby · 21/05/2018 09:20

172 - 155 = 17

Divette · 21/05/2018 09:20

AromaticSpices, 12st3 is 171lbs and 11st11 is 165lbs giving you a loss of 6lbs. Does that help?

TimeIhadaNameChange · 21/05/2018 09:23

A whole 0.1 lbs off for me! It's my own stupid fault though, so I'm really not complaining. It was 4.4 off in the week to yesterday. And yesterday's weight was the second lowest since starting BC, and the lowest lowest was only after a bout of illness, so at least I know this time that I can, really, get down there. I just have to stop being stupid!

In other news, Saturday was my BC anniversary (I remembered the day before, but forgot on the day - whoops!). 11 stone 1 down to 8 stone 7.3! Thank you so very much, BIWI!!!!!

Tidythatmess · 21/05/2018 09:23

2.2lbs for me and I'm very pleased with that. I feel less bloated and as if my skin is clearer too. It's given me a motivational boost this morning!

Seafour · 21/05/2018 09:24

BIWI thank you for the new thread.

Well done everyone for some amazing first week results. Thanks for anyone who hasn't seen the expected/hoped for results, please KOKO because you deserve this, you really do unless you are cheating in which case you deserve the big stickGrin

Ilovecherries you are incredible and you look fab, I think I have a teenage tiny crush on you.

I've ended the week on a 3.5lb loss which I'm very happy with all things considered.

Food today

B creamy coffee, scrambled egg and mushrooms
L mackerel salad
D belly pork, Swiss chard with garlic, butter and lemon zest, cauliflower mash

I'm back in the gym today but feel as if I've taken a massive step backwards because of injuring my shoulder.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 21/05/2018 09:25

Added it, Jings.

Aromatic, yes the conversions are 171 and 165 - there's a converter sheet if you're not sure.

AromaticSpices · 21/05/2018 09:28

How strange, the website I'm looking at is def saying 11.11st = 155lbs Confused - thanks everyone, will go by 165. Off to check the converter sheet...

itchyknees · 21/05/2018 09:32

The stone/pound conversion thing : Remeber .5 of a stone is not 5lbs, it’s half a stone, which is 7lbs. Etc.

NotSoSkinnyNow · 21/05/2018 09:33

The scales are saying minus 8lbs, but I don't entirely trust them Grin they're the old fashioned sort with the needle in the wee window and the numbers spin around like roulette! I reckon they are getting revenge for being ignored for so long Grin

Thanks BIWI, and thanks to everyone for posting on the threads. It really keeps me going.

Did the big shop yesterday, so starting week 2 with a fridge full of loveliness..... Fresh veg, eggs, meat, cream, yoghurt, salad things, and bottles of sparkling water in the wine rack Smile

Today's plan is

B. 2 scrambled eggs, almost a litre of water, and now thinking of a black coffee
L. Feta salad
D. Pork meatballs with broccoli, creamed cabbage and leeks

Koko everyone!

ilovecherries · 21/05/2018 09:33

It would say 155 if it was a decimal placement i.e. 11 point 11 pounds. But 11 stone 11 pounds is 165.

AromaticSpices · 21/05/2018 09:33

The site I was using had calculated my start weight wrong too. Grr. Have redone all my entries using BIWI's converter. Will use that from now on

AromaticSpices · 21/05/2018 09:34

Ah yes cherries I wondered about that. But I'd have thought a weight converter site would have recognised that it was 11 stone 11 pounds, not 11.11 stones - because this would in fact mean 12.01 wouldn't it? I mean if it was 11.9 I could see the confusion as that's a smidge off a whole number. If you see what I mean

ilovecherries · 21/05/2018 09:38

No, it's not point eleven, it would be point one one - i.e. It would read the number as two decimal points - so basically, just over 11 stone.

bibliomania · 21/05/2018 09:39

2lbs down, which is nice but not a huge victory. But I'm happy with the other wins too - good sleep, excellent mood (could be the fine weather too!), no hunger.

I was able to wave away ice-cream over the weekend with no sense of being deprived. No cravings - a slight wistfulness at the thought of a g&t or glass of wine, but wasn't overwhelmed by temptation.

I've been experimenting with more of the recipes on the veggie recipe thread. The aubergine curry with cauliflower rice was amazing, as is the aubergine & halloumi bake with coriander pesto (packed for lunch today). Next to try is the courgette and feta fritters.

AromaticSpices · 21/05/2018 09:40

Ah right. Yes. Blush

ilovecherries · 21/05/2018 09:50

Lol, nope, not a dimwit at all. I grew up imperial, and lived through decimalisation, so we all had to get really good at doing the conversions in our heads during the transition period.

Seafour, teenage crush! Grin

JingsMahBucket · 21/05/2018 09:51

@AthelstaneTheUnready thank you for adding my weight!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 21/05/2018 09:55

have just totaled the weight so far recorded lost this week - a whopping 249 lbs between us - and not nearly everyone has weighed yet! Grin

Rshard · 21/05/2018 09:57

You look gorgeous cherries another one hoping the dress was purchased?

I've lost 1lb, which I'm happy with as this is my third boot camp and I'm getting close to goal. Really happy as this pound is my 28th lost on this wow, so that's one of my mini goals achieved. Next one is getting into the 9's

Well done for all the koko!

mickeymacca · 21/05/2018 10:02

@ilovecherries you look 20 years younger (even tho I cant see your face) well done its fantastic and very inspiring 👏
Well done all some fab losses. I've stayed the same which I'm not going to get fed up about as I've been low carbing a little while and don't have lots to lose. I feel great though. Clothes are looser I'm sleeping brilliantly and just generally feeling fab. Thanks everyone for sharing

Catbot · 21/05/2018 10:05

I've stayed the same this week but that's ok. I know I'm burning ketones (cos I've used a strip, just to check!) but I'm also in peri-menopause so it will be harder to lose now. I've pretty much kept to the plan other than drinking too much of the red stuff and not enough of the clear stuff! Loads of BBQs last week and another this week - grilled halloumi makes everything ok Grin

I'm going to try to cut down on dairy this week and eat more meat/fish and veg starting today IF I can get to the shops through the horse fair!

Loving reading everyone's posts!

ilovecherries · 21/05/2018 10:06

Thanks everyone, I FEEL twenty years younger. Rshard survivor, I didn't buy it because I felt it was a dress for a much younger woman. But everyone who has seen the picture says I should have, so I might yet be enabled to do so Grin
