Wow! This is the first time I've had to start a second thread this early!

Please continue to post all your meals, ideas, questions, woes, successes etc here!

I'm currently on a train Oop North with very dodgy wifi so can't guarantee I will see or be able to answer all your questions, but I'll do my best.

Also, tomorrow I'm at a funeral Sad so won't be around very much

OP posts:

Can I have a little whoop for hitting 125.8lbs (aka a tiny bit under 9 stone) please! Last time I was here my gorgeous 7 1/2 month old DS was a tiny bean I'd just tested positive for! It probably won't stick for Monday's weigh in but I'll do my best.

Due to the joy of years of data logged in my Garmin app I can also confirm I'm almost exactly the same weight as I was when I last raced 5k, in Aug 2016. If I can be within 2 minutes of that time tonight I'll be pretty happy.

BIWI Flowers. Appreciate you creating 2nd page when you have so much on!

Athel’ good to hear you’re feeling somewhat better.

I’m enjoying reading everyone’s posts.

Note for those ladies who are disappointed that they either haven’t lost or have put a bit on. I didn’t really have the expected whoosh on my first bc (jan ‘18). Some weeks I even put on when I’d followed the bc to the letter. It is said if you follow this woe to the letter you will lose. And I did. But it wasn’t linear. So I might stall, might gain slightly but overall I have lost about 20lbs over 20 weeks (started pre December on bc lite) I averaged a 1lb a week loss.

After bc finished I then did bc lite as I added berry’s & nuts to some meals & snacks. Still I continued to lose, albeit slower than a lb a week but overall a downward trend. Now I’m back on bc proper I’ve seen the scales go down to my lowest ever weight (for sometime). As a daily weigher I do see fluctuations go up and down. But I’ve learnt as long as the trend continues downwards, and belts go that extra notch, and clothes size reduce all is good. Bought smaller size jeans recently and it’s feels so satisfying to zip them up easily and not have a muffin top.

Today’s intended menu
B - Coffee with cream.
L - Tuna Mayo & leaf salad.
D - Cod fillet fried in butter and oil. Brocolli. Creamy cheese sauce.
S - Boiled Eggs.

Sending positive you can do it ladies thoughts. You really are worth it!

Catbot · 18/05/2018 08:02

Whoop Rayna! Well done!

3stonedown · 18/05/2018 08:06

June your picnic sounds great! can I come?

1lb down today so now a total of 9lbs down. I am shamelessly going to say I think I look good today! Helped by the fact that I got DD out of her cot and she said "ohhh pretty mummy" Grin

Today's menu (the many many eggs I will consume Blush)
B: Ham wrapped with cream cheese and boiled eggs mashed with butter
L: Spinach and Feta pie
D: Steak with roasted veg

Twoo · 18/05/2018 08:11

I cross posted ... Fantastic Rayna

BrassicaBabe · 18/05/2018 08:19

@StuntNun yes please on the low-ish carb bbq recipe (the thread moves so fast hopefully no-one will notice Wink)

Teenytinyratsass · 18/05/2018 08:25

Morning!

Hope today goes as well as it can BIWI Flowers

It’s lovely and sunny here oop north today.

Thanks for confirming my suspicions on the hartleys jelly, I thought it was too good to be true.

Started the day with a 6am training session (weights).

breakfast was bacon and fried eggs.

I’m annoyingly boingy on this Friday morning, sorry about that Grin

Weight loss so far this week is 1.5lb but overall mood, bloating etc is MASSIVELY improved!

Wishing you all a good BC Friday Star

MumOfAPickle · 18/05/2018 08:27

Morning all, I had a pretty ok day yesterday.
B: 2 x eggs scrambled with butter and spinach
L: pig cheeks with Asian veg & coleslaw (from a foodie market)
D: was at a friends and slightly worrying but she’d done 6 (!) curries so I had loads of options and easily ignored the rice/nans/samosas. I also avoided the prosecco Halo

I also have a funeral today (hope yours goes well biwi) so am planning a substantial breakfast of eggs, bacon, mushrooms and sprouts and hoping I’ll manage the rest of the day. Koko all those who are struggling, it really does get easier x

JuneBalloon · 18/05/2018 08:29

@MelanieCheeks They sound delish! But will they travel well???

parsleyeatingbunny · 18/05/2018 08:30

@JuneBalloon how about prawn and avocado?

lovelycuppateas · 18/05/2018 08:33

So lovely to read everybody's posts (even though it's been taking a seriously long time....!). Flowers to those of you with funerals to go to. I think I'm doing ok - had a few headaches this week, but staying pretty strict.

I normally go to the pub with friends on Friday nights, so worried that it will be hard to stick to fizzy water. I think I'll give it a go, and just drive home early if it's too difficult! Anyone else have a similar Friday-night problem?

Rayna37 · 18/05/2018 08:39

Brassica I made a version of these BBQ ribs last bootcamp from the Real Meal Revolution. Wouldn't have used xylitol (as we've never had any) but not sure if I maybe added a little stevia. The slaw was great too.

Week 1 - May Low Carb Bootcamp - the sequel!
Teenytinyratsass · 18/05/2018 08:46

lovelycuppa I —really— like
a drink so I’m imagining tonight might be a struggle. Not going out, but the thought of a lovely g&t in front of the tv tonight is a tempting one.

Thing is, I feel SO much better without booze and I want this to continue for a while yet, so will dig deep.

Rshard · 18/05/2018 09:12

Flowers to all who are struggling and definitely koko!

Whoop for you rayna and good luck for tonight

lovelycuppateas · 18/05/2018 09:16

Thanks Teenytiny, I only drink really on Fridays, but I think that's been responsible for much of my weight gain as chips almost always follow the wine! I'll just keep reminding myself that the goal is worth it (and report back tomorrow...)

CuriosityDoor · 18/05/2018 09:22

I am so hungry all the time! Just on day 3, when will I adjust?? I keep snacking on cheese which I don't want to always go to but not sure what else to have? I don't eat meat. Any suggestions??

Mueslibox · 18/05/2018 09:24

twoo thanks so much for your message, that has really cheered me up!

CuriosityDoor · 18/05/2018 09:27

I had bought carrots to munch on but seen they're a high carb so not really snack friendly

Twoo · 18/05/2018 09:56

Muselibox I’m pleased my post helped. This woe does work, just faster for some than others Smile

Ifonlyiweretaller · 18/05/2018 09:57

Well. I slept like the proverbial log last night! Can't remember when I last had 3 nights of fabulous sleep. I'm slow to start on the water this morning though, I had to put a bit of warm water in with the cold to make it go down easier.
I'm going to try and track down that Lidl 10% greek yogurt today (what an exciting way to spend a Friday Grin

bibliomania · 18/05/2018 10:00

Still having vivid dreams. I was battling it out with Count Dracula last night.

Have been experimenting with the recipes on the spreadsheet. Was surprised by how good the tuna fishcakes were - might try and lure dd into eating them, because I thinks she eats too much processed food. This morning prepared the spring rolls (a thin omelette as the wrap). Not as fiddly as I thought and looking forward to having them for lunch.

Love coffee with cream first thing in the morning - feels like I'm starting the day with a great treat.

Mimosa1 · 18/05/2018 10:02

Phew - I've now read every post on both threads. We're a chatty bunch - I love it. This is my 3rd bc and I can honestly say I find the support invaluable. Couldn't have lost 15kg in a year without it. Thanks to all.

Biwi, i hope today goes ok Flowers

DH and I went to the theatre last night for a rare treat out but we were running late and hadn't eaten so had a Burger King nearby. I did the bunless burger trick and resisted all other temptation so feeling virtuous.

Like a few other posters, I've been struggling with breakfast ideas, but bought so nice yoghurt so looking forward to having that tomorrow. It's Glenliven Farms and has a nice tangy taste and 3.7g per 100g but relatively low fat at only 3.6g so M want to add cream

bingefest · 18/05/2018 10:06

hi everyone - I’m a long- time lurker - LC ing on and off for years - always manage to binge my way up to heavier than when I started ! Was beginning to think LCHF wasn’t working for me BUT THIS TIME ITS DIFFERENT . I’m being good about water almost to the point of incontinence. I’m being good about planning - eggs for breakfast and yummy packed lunches every day . I ve been drinking 3-4 glasses of water as soon as I get home from work and magically I no longer have to snack/ binge. I’ve become an obsessive reader of the thread - I’m so impressed everyone is managing to negotiate the hurdles of being surrounded by cakes, pies etc.
We’ve all got a challenge coming up over the weekend - but imagine how good it’ll feel on Monday to be able to “ post with pride “ that we resisted temptation . We always drink with friends over the weekend- my plan is large amounts of fizzy water ( Pellegrino is best ) lime slices, fresh mint and ice cubes and tell friends I’m on antibiotics .They’ll think it’s cystitis due to the hundreds of trips to the loo. I’ve lost 4 lbs this week ( astonishing after a couple of months of LCHF plus cheating , resulting in no weight loss at all ) Good luck everyone and stay strong !

bibliomania · 18/05/2018 10:10

binge, you made me laugh with your friends suspecting cystitis.

DramaAlpaca · 18/05/2018 10:29

Morning all.

Slept well & feeling zingy. It helps that it's a beautiful sunny day. And that I'm down another pound which I'm really happy about.

Have a good day campers.
