Wow! This is the first time I've had to start a second thread this early!

Please continue to post all your meals, ideas, questions, woes, successes etc here!

I'm currently on a train Oop North with very dodgy wifi so can't guarantee I will see or be able to answer all your questions, but I'll do my best.

Also, tomorrow I'm at a funeral Sad so won't be around very much

OP posts:

Biwi Flowers

I feel like I'm doing OK today. I've not been hungry since lunchtime, which is most unusual, and didn't have an afternoon slump either. I'm just back from a walk with the dog & will have dinner in an hour or so.

I seem to have avoided the dreaded carb flu this time

Leelaseye me too. Friday will be tough.

ErneyAndAgnes · 17/05/2018 20:09

Been going fine so far, until today. I think carb flu has hit me, I’ve got a pounding headache that won’t shift and before lunch I felt really nauseous Sad I wanted so badly to have some fruit or some toast, but I resisted. Just. I’m definitely getting 3l of water and have lots of added salt so not sure why I feel so rough.
B- scrambled egg, halloumi, 1/2 an avocado and 1 rasher or bacon (my only one this week)
L- managed to force down some lamb bites from the recipes thread with spinach and cucumber and a bit of Greek yogurt after because I was feeling icky
D- low carb shepherds pie which was so delicious I had to have seconds, with brocolli
Now time for an early night I think and hope I feel better tomorrow

ChiefSuspect · 17/05/2018 20:10

I don't really know them well at all. Old uni friends of DH. Have met them a few times, and they are lovely, but they might be a bit Hmm Confused.

mickeymacca · 17/05/2018 20:25

Hope the funeral goes ok BIWI 💐 I'm struggling tonight. Someone gave me a box of lovely chocs. I'm going to regift them Sunday but for now they are beckoning me aaarrrgggh.

Eolian · 17/05/2018 20:39

Flowers for the funeral, BIWI.
I'm feeling a bit meh today. Bit of a boring day food-wise. Probably a bit too much dairy again tbh. I fancy having a go at making that braised creamy cabbage tomorrow. I remember people raving about it last time I was on BC and have trawled through the recipe thread to find it. Looks delicious.

glenthebattleostrich · 17/05/2018 20:43

Thanks BIWI Thanks

Off to catch up

Ifonlyiweretaller · 17/05/2018 20:44

Hope all is okay tomorrow BIWI. Lovely that you've all kept in touch!

Re the pizza restaurant, when i go to my favourite local one as I love the atmosphere in there, I order my pizza with loads of extra (LC) toppings and literally just eat the toppings with a green salad. Works for me.

3stonedown · 17/05/2018 20:52

@BIWI sorry about the funeral Flowers

With the pizza place they might do a mozzarella and tomato salad? Most Italians I've been to have.

How many eggs is too many in a day? I've just prepped tomorrow's breakfast and lunch. My office is the unhealthiest place on earth, the fridge is full from top to bottom with coke and energy drink and the cupboards are full of cakes, biscuits and crisps, it takes all my willpower to ignore it all so I pack as much as I can in case I feel temptation. However I've packed 2 boiled eggs for breakfast and make a spinach and feta pie for lunch. Recipe says serves 2 but the portion looked tiny so I packed it all Blush that could end up being 6 eggs!

On a lighter note I'm loving this WOE

Luki · 17/05/2018 20:55

Gaaaaaah. I hate having to pee every 30 minutes. Can't even take the dog for a walk because I've got to run back to the house before I'm even halfway through Angry I know all this water is good for me but come on!

Also just stuffed my face with ham and cheese roll-ups. Wasn't even hungry for them, just feeling sorry for myself.

Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Best wishes for tomorrow BIWI Flowers

Yarboosucks · 17/05/2018 21:28

Sorry for your loss BIWI, I hope the journey is going smoothly.

For the ladies who are struggling… In a short amount of time you will start to notice a difference! Your watch strap will get looser, as will your rings, your cheekbones and jaw will be more defined, your collar bones will become more pronounced, your jeans will fit that bit looser…. What do you want more? Those signs or some effing carbs?

Rayna37 · 17/05/2018 21:35

Nothing too exciting to eat today (this week) but that's almost a conscious decision as I'd been getting a bit carried away cooking extravagant (low carb) treaty meals and ending up eating too much too often.

B: scrambled eggs and asparagus in butter
L: tuna mayo, celery, radish, cucumber, green pepper, then some Greek yogurt.
D: grilled pork belly strips with cavolo nero and asparagus both pan fried in butter.
A babybel as a snack, one coffee and one tea with milk, might still have a creamy coffee now DH is back to man the machine.

Might be a challenging weekend: a pizza and wine thing after the race, my parents are babysitting visiting and a wedding on Saturday where I won't worry too much if there's some drink and nonBC food, just keep it sensible.

underactivethyroidmum · 17/05/2018 21:41

Does anyone know if we can have cottage cheese? I’ve got a tub that needs to be used up and I’m wondering what to do with it

Yarboosucks · 17/05/2018 21:44

I eat cottage cheese - we have a local dairy that makes a fab full fat one that is low on carbs. If it is low fat, walk away!

sheldonesque · 17/05/2018 21:44

Flowers BIWI

struggling today - much like muesli's last post. Could be because of a change of shifts.

I'm not losing but I don't feel so bloated.

Breakfast - 2 boiled eggs - mushed with butter and half avocado.
Lunch - pork belly with salad
Tea - rest of pork belly with cucumber and celery and salad leaves and home made mayo.

Is this too much pig? (size of small palm)

Struggling to shove down my last half litre of water.

Night all. Have to be up at 3 Sad

MelanieCheeks · 17/05/2018 21:44

Thanks biwi, and Flowers

4 days without booze. That's the longest I've done that for quite a while, so thank you for showing me I can do it!

Enjoying seeing my cheekbones, slept really well last night, and things on the ahem toilet front seem a bit better. I'm taking a sprinkle of psyllium husk with my breakfast, and have added it to my egg frittata muffins.

Rshard · 17/05/2018 21:44

Can’t believe we’re on thread two!

Hope the funeral goes ok BIWI

Laska5772 · 17/05/2018 21:52

Oh, I had such a good day and yummy today !
Breakfast: 3 eggs in butter ,2 black coffees
Lunch : Crabmeat on mixed leaves with avocado and good glug of olive oil a squeeze of lemon and a dollop of Helmans mixed in the crab
Dinner, salmon fillet asparagus and parmesan shavings on spinach leaves . with glug of Evoo and squeeze of lemon on the salad.
Loads of water

Two of those meals were eaten at other peoples homes.. LCHF WOE explained and accepted without demur.. .

mickeymacca · 17/05/2018 21:52

yarboosucks thanks for the reality check 👍 I'm really pleased I've resisted temptation. Hope everyone else that's struggling is doing OK

parsleyeatingbunny · 17/05/2018 21:55

I was going to post this evening about being hungry all the time, but something changed this afternoon... haven't been hungry at all, no snacking and a very light dinner. So either I'm sickening for something or this WOE is beginning to work for me!

With regards to Friday night wine, last Friday I spent the money that would have gone on a bottle of wine on a bunch of flowers. Whenever I missed Wine I looked at them and they distracted me and cheered me up (lasted longer than the wine would have done too!)

sheldonesque · 17/05/2018 21:59

yarboo thanks for the kick up the harris Grin

Tomorrow is another day - having cauli and broccoli bake for tea.

With the ubiquitous salad leaves!

Seafour · 17/05/2018 22:22

Blimey blink and there's a new thread.

Just popped on to post my food today.

B two scrambled eggs
L baked avocado with egg and wilted buttery spinach
S pork scratchings
D Thai green curry made with chicken thighs

Water 2.5L black tea x2 coffee x 3

In bed feeling headachey and hoping I don't come down with the gruesome tummy bug that is decimating our village.

Titsywoo · 17/05/2018 22:26

Ended up eating differently to what I was planning

B: Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and spinach
L: Two poached eggs with asparagus which I melted some butter over - that was a really tasty meal
D: Last minute dinner out! Was ok as it was a steak place so had an 8oz sirloin with garlic butter and some garlic mushrooms. Ate a bit of the onion loaf which looked like deep fried onion but thinking about it may have been coated in flour first. Hey ho. Pretty good considering.

Not looking forward to controlling myself this weekend. I'm traveling from 4pm to 6pm tomorrow evening then am at Warner Bros Studios until 10 so no idea how I will do dinner as finding something at a service station will be tricky.

Then I have a BBQ to go to on Saturday so hopefully they will have some plain meat options!

In London on Sunday - very early start and DS will want lunch on the way home but will try and go without until we get home at 1 (will have breakfast at 6.30).

Weekends are always my weak point as we have so much going on and eat out a fair bit normally.

Yarboosucks · 17/05/2018 22:27

So!

B = Coffee
L = Roast chilli broccoli, lettuce, cucumber and 2 boiled eggs with mayo and olive oil with a little Cathedral cheddar stick
s = scratchlings
D = LOADS of mushrooms fried in butter with a small shallot, chicken and boursin and loads of black pepper - Bloody delicious (I could eat it again!)
3 L water

More visits to the loo than I care to mention!

UnimaginativeUsername · 17/05/2018 22:34

@Titsywoo Stop at a service station with an M&S and you should probably be ok.

Otherwise I’d put money on a service station doing ham and egg - you can decline the chips. Or a bunless Burger King burger.

Yarboosucks · 17/05/2018 22:35

And….

Major feat! I bought DH a packet of Percy Pigs, he was out this evening and I have walked past the open packet about 100 times tonight without touching them at all because he has probably counted them
