Well done pretty. Did you weigh the phone?!

prettybird · 23/12/2017 09:09

Didn't think of that! Xmas Shock

I'd seen the weight and then went to get my phone to photograph it for boasting purposes prosperity Xmas Grin. So I must really have been slightly under 11 stone 13lb for it still to register as that weight - especially as it's a heavy iPhone 4 Xmas Wink

SayrraT · 23/12/2017 14:47

Grin prettybird well done!

I've not been on here for such a long time, I always find it hard to come back if I've missed a few days Confused I don't know why.

I've not weighed myself for a while (and I don't want too!!) because not being on the thread always ties in with not weighing and then not sticking to BC even though I love BC.

Having a nice time being off, I stopped on on the 15th and I'm off until the 3rd so feeling very lucky, though I am working at the moment as I have a paper I need to submit by the 15th January!

Have done lots of riding which has been nice except my horse lost TWO Hmm two!! shoes yesterday. Luckily I've managed to arrange a farrier to come out tomorrow to put them back on.

I've also been extremely lucky and got to go to London with a friend to see Harry Potter and the cursed child. We had amazing seat (front row of the circle). It was fab Star I'm not even a huge fan but I loved it.

Even better I've managed, this morning, to get a pair of tickets to both parts for another friend who is a major fan as an early wedding present...best news it was only £80 in total! I assume they must have been a return Shock

I will try to stick around more and obviously I'll be doing to spreadsheet for the BIWI-less January BC Grin

BIWI · 23/12/2017 14:48

Grin @ BIWI-less!

I'm sure I'll pop my head in from time to time.

How many carbs is a glass of Baileys? Blush

StuntNun · 24/12/2017 08:16

YoLo please don't tell me. DH bought a bottle for me insisting it was "just cream and alcohol". Nope, there's sugar in there too.

StuntNun · 24/12/2017 17:49

DH bought some mulled wine from Waitrose and it is horribly sweet. I've had a glass and a half and I feel sick! Why does everything have so much sugar in these days?

ilovecherries · 24/12/2017 18:43

I've stayed resolutely low carb but I'm feeling slightly sad. The words I seem to have used most since Friday are a variation on 'no thanks'. So after I got ridiculously tearful in the bathroom after passing on the Mince pies and Baileys for what felt like the 20th time in 2 hours, we've decided to do something completely different tomorrow. Our local park run is going a 5k turkey trot at 9am, so we are all going: DH and DS running with me as supporters and DD who is full of cold on camera duty. We have decided that losing my park run virginity to celebrate Xmas would make me feel so good I won't miss the bloody roast potatoes and quality street!

BlackMozart · 24/12/2017 21:51

ilove that is completely brilliant👏 Have a great run!

I’ve just stuffed the turkey, made the giblet stock for gravy and wrapped the last present. Pigs in blankets are wrapped too, and most veg prepp’d. We are ready to rock and roll. Have had a couple of glasses of delicious wine and am now having a coffee and some dark choc watching Maigret on the box before putting the Turkey in the Aga overnight which is how I’ve always done it.

Have a great day everyone and above all don’t feel guilty. 😀

FurryTurnip · 24/12/2017 22:26

Have a brilliant run Ilove, what a lovely thing to do.

YoLoElfSocks · 25/12/2017 10:30

Good luck with the run ilove you are truly an inspiration to all of us.

And a merry Christmas to everyone this morning!!!

May your mince pies be mindful and your alcohol moderate! Grin

Rshard · 25/12/2017 11:30

Hope you enjoyed your first parkrun ilove

Merry Christmas everyone!

I have eaten some carbs and will be eating more but I enjoyed them and felt no guilt!

ilovecherries · 25/12/2017 13:22

42 mins which I was really pleased with considering I couldn't run more than a few steps a few months ago :) Hope everyone having a wonderful Xmas.

blackteaplease · 25/12/2017 15:40

Merry Christmas everyone. I've had had duck and carrots for lunch today as the lunch was v high carb at my in laws. Lots of coffee and water are seeing me through, I'm hoping that there will be more food later.

FurryTurnip · 25/12/2017 16:45

Very well done Ilove, that's a great time.

Well done to those of you who have kept a low carb focus over the festive period. I got the goal and then have fallen monumentally into loads of carbs for the last two days. Tonnes of chocolate and crisps. Not worth it, feel dreadful, looking forward to getting back to normal soon!

Merry Christmas everyone.

BerylStreep · 25/12/2017 21:26

Merry Xmas everyone.

I'm shattered. Cooked for 20, cleared up, and currently on sofa feeling sorry for myself. Had a couple of small bits of desserts this evening, but need to get back on the straight and narrow tomorrow.

I've hosted Christmas every year for the last 15 years, but I just don't think I can manage any more. I'm worn out by excitable nephews. Poor DS went to bed on the verge of tears saying he was overwhelmed by it all. I know how it feels.

Well, tomorrow is another day ...

Rshard · 25/12/2017 22:52

Fabulous ilove!

Well done to those who’ve managed to stay low carb. I’ve ended up with a bad tummy tonight, which I never have as usually have the constitution of an ox. Am thinking it’s the carbs? Back on it tomorrow

blackteaplease · 26/12/2017 08:34

Argh the snack table got me last night. Back on track this morning with spinach, eggs, and bacon

BerylStreep · 26/12/2017 09:57

Our turkey yesterday was 5.2kg, which is just over what I have lost on boot camp. Thing is, it was really heavy and I couldn't have imagined i would have managed if someone had said to me that I had to carry the turkey in a backpack all day.

I'm currently carrying at least the equivalent of another 3 of those turkeys. No wonder my poor knees and feet were sore yesterday. I've also had a lower back issue all year from a slip I had, but it's suddenly made it clear how much of a role my excess weight is playing in preventing it from healing.

So next year I plan to think of my weight in terms of 🦃. One down, three to go!

ilovecherries · 26/12/2017 17:20

Beryl, I had a similar revelation a few weeks ago, when I realised I'd lost 23 kilos - i.e., the same weight as the suitcase I took on holiday. The suitcase I couldn't lift on the scale/off the luggage carousel by myself. When I realised I'd been lugging that about on my body every second of the day, I suddenly understood why I'd been constantly knackered Xmas Grin

ilovecherries · 26/12/2017 20:20

So how is everyone doing? With Boxing Day nearly over, are you getting straight back on it, or are you relaxing the woe till New Year? If you relaxed the carbs, how are you feeling?

I decided I'd basically just keep following BC rules, because I was worried that I wouldn't cope with relaxing my limits. It's been ok, apart from some moments of nostalgia/regret that I have potentially messed up my metabolism so much in the past that carbs may have to be off the menu forever. However, what is has made me reflect on is how much of family traditions and celebrations are tied up in food - from the tin of QS as the tree goes up, through the mince pies, Xmas cakes, stollen, puddings, endless Baileys and fizz etc etc. Some of these things - like the Christmas cakes, I don't even like that much, but it wouldn't have stopped me eating them all through December. So it's made us put other things in their place, and we've certainly done less lying in food comas and feeling slightly pissed and more walking/game playing/reading/chatting than we have in the past. DH and the kids have been very supportive, and while they have eaten potatoes, parsnips and puddings etc, they've been serving those aspects of the meal directly onto their plates in the kitchen, rather than putting them on the dining table. I've probably eaten higher calorie than I have been - some posh cheeses, pate, cream for coffee, some nuts and so on, the carbs have stayed low.

Wh0KnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 26/12/2017 22:42

Well done Cherries. I have gone the other way and relapsed (although to a lesser extent than I normally would) but feel fine and am confident that I’ll get back to low carb in a few days.

BlackMozart · 26/12/2017 23:52

Well done to those sticking to it. I’ve consciously had some carby things but have not enjoyed some of them and have stopped pretty quickly. Tomorrow will probably be my last day of indulgences other than wine. I know I’m going to pay for it but got my period on Christmas Eve too so at least the two problems are happening together. Every cloud as they say...
