Afternoon all.

Really sorry for starting the new thread so late - I had an early start this morning, and travel problems meant I didn't have to time to set this up before my first meeting.

Anyway, here's the spreadsheet.

Good luck in this last week!

It's funny that you mentioned taking care of yourself more cherries over the past few weeks I have actually started wearing make-up again and had by eyebrows properly shaped the other day, and feel like I can actually make an effort to look good and not worry about people sniggering behind my back in a 'who she trying to kid' kind of way.

Grimbles · 15/12/2017 21:12

It's also nice to be able to go into a shop without feeling out of place and frumpy because you're not sure if they actually cater for your size!

upsidedown2017 · 15/12/2017 21:26

Day 2 completed. I can't believe it!

So excited to stick with this and hope to see the results you all have 😊

BIWI · 15/12/2017 21:34

I am more than happy to lend any of you my big stick Grin

I suspect I'll be in need of application to my own arse when I get back. I'm going to be in Oz for 2.5 weeks, so I'm trying to get myself in the mindset of 'salads are the best thing' rather than 'you're on holiday you can have whatever you want' !

Singadream - we'll start a pre-Boot Camp thread on 1 January while people resist or finish off the excesses of the Festive Period

Re looking after ourselves: I've been following a fab thread in Style & Beauty on "How to look like a Parisian" (now on to Part 2). I asked for advice on what red lipstick to get and am now the proud owner of some Dior 999 and getting some Chanel in Coromandel for Christmas from my dad Xmas Smile I'm general trying to up my game in how I dress Xmas Grin

ilovecherries · 15/12/2017 22:59

PrettyBird, I'm trying to pluck up the courage for a red lipstick. Have always wanted one, never had the nerve and I suspect I may have too many lip lines. But I really want one! I am LOVING buying clothes.

prettybird · 15/12/2017 23:29

Go for it Ilovecherries - I was always subtle colours before but the "right" red is great.

I've already had loads of compliments since I've started wearing it! Xmas Smile

blackteaplease · 16/12/2017 05:12

JumpingintoLCHF · 16/12/2017 05:59

Someone wondered up thread if there are people still doing this who don't post. Me! I get lots of encouragement from this thread but rarely have anything to say. I've lost 17lb I think on this boot camp so will definitely be around for the next one.

Actually my weight isn't logged for the last 2 weeks on the sheet. Would someone please be able to add it for me? Last week was 242 and this week 240.

Thanks everyone.

FurryTurnip · 16/12/2017 08:05

Some amazing focus on here from everyone for the new year! Also happy to help out on the next bootcamp if any is needed, I would quite like to loiter to support (or stick brandish!)

PrettyBird interesting about the whole taking more care of yourself. I feel similar. I've spent a few years hiding under crappy clothes and now really want to look different. And funnily enough I am not much of a make up wearer but had to wear a very dressy dress for something the other day, and looked really pasty. Nipped into a department store, they put me in a deep red lipstick and I loved it, felt really confident. I am dark haired and pale faced so always thought I'd look like idiotic but it was fab. So go for it ilovecherries, just find the right shade and wear it with pride. (saying that, I wouldn't be brave enough to wear it in the day yet!)

FurryTurnip · 16/12/2017 08:16

And very well done Jumping, 17lbs very impressive!

Rshard · 16/12/2017 08:58

I love a red lipstick too prettybird, always when I was younger but not so much as I’ve got older however I’ve started to again recently. An increased confidence/looking after myself better thing. I like Mac ladybug, but I’m going to check out those you mentioned. Definitely go for it ilove!

Hope dd feels better soon blacktea

That’s brilliant jumping 17lbs!

NSV from dh this morning - he said I was looking really trim.

prettybird · 16/12/2017 09:31

I suit an orange red or a true red Rshard - so that's why the other thread recommended those. It's worth going and having a look at it (and its precursor). It's called Les Parisiennes de Mamansnet - Part Deux and the previous thread was called something like I've just come back from 5 days in Le Marais and want to look more like a Parisian s'il vous plait.

Lots of different red lipstick suggestions on there. Wild Ginger from Tom Ford was also recommended - but I balked at the £40 Xmas Shock price. Mac Danger I think is another and Ruby Woo (think its a blue red) gets lots of mentions - but also that it is very drying.

At first I felt a bit self conscious wearing it out during the day but now I enjoy it as part of reminding myself I am worth it Xmas Smile

Rshard · 16/12/2017 09:45

You are so worth it prettybird! I bought ruby woo and found it too Matt and very drying. Dd ended up having it. I’ll check out that thread, it sounds informative

Scabbersley · 16/12/2017 10:21

Morning all. I'm at a swim gala, a bit hungover. I've just eaten a banana, my first for months! It was amazing Grin

Rshard · 16/12/2017 10:38

Didn’t realise you were a swim mum too scabbersley? We’re off to a gala shortly

Scabbersley · 16/12/2017 11:13

Wonder if it's the same one!!

Rshard · 16/12/2017 11:17

Well we’re in Derbyshire?

Scabbersley · 16/12/2017 11:22

Nowhere near! Good luck! Dd just got a 9 sec PB so she's pleased!

Rshard · 16/12/2017 11:34

Thanks. Yay for your dd!!

BrassicaBabe · 16/12/2017 15:07

Hungover here too.

Going out for dinner tonight. I've checked out the menu. I'm really feeling the carb pull for the first time in a age SadSad

BlackMozart · 16/12/2017 17:29

Love all this talk of red lipstick - maybe one day I’ll be giving it go too 😊
I weighed myself this morning, midweek for me, as an experiment and was 2.5lbs down from Tuesday’s 1lb up. I’ll be interested to see where I am on Tuesday next but what it did do was give me the extra incentive not to drink this weekend. I think I will keep doing it. Every day would be too much for me but twice a week could be good.

Well done to scabbersley’s daughter!
Steady there brassicababe - step away from at least some of the carbs perhaps?!

BlackMozart · 16/12/2017 17:30

Ooh and I forgot to say well done jumping 17lbs is amazing. 👏

Rshard · 16/12/2017 18:08

What else is there brassica, on that menu instead of carbs? You’re almost at the end of boot camp - you can resist!!

wombattoo · 16/12/2017 18:41

Hello all

Apologies for my absence. I have been diagnosed with cancer, so been slightly distracted Smile

I am having major surgery the first week in January so I won't be taking part in the bc. I hope to be lurking though.

It is fantastic to read how well you have all done. There have been some amazing losses, but more importantly, some real positivity and support for each other.

I wish you all a very happy (low carb) Christmas.
