Afternoon all.

Really sorry for starting the new thread so late - I had an early start this morning, and travel problems meant I didn't have to time to set this up before my first meeting.

Anyway, here's the spreadsheet.

Good luck in this last week!

Upsidedown - welcome and all the best as you start (challenging time of year to do so Xmas Shock)

I have a set of electronic Salter scales. Dh insists that they vary - but I have found that they are consistent provided I put them on exactly the same point of the bathroom floor (I line them up with a tile). He keeps moving them around, even on to the top of the dining room table Xmas Confused

BrassicaBabe · 14/12/2017 09:01

I have a set of tanita scales. Bloody love them. My old scales I used to have to stand on 10 times to get an average. These say the same each and every time.

78Ash · 14/12/2017 11:17

Must be plenty lurking and not posting princessbear80 , me for one!

I have noted the decrease in hunger (or h-anger) with this WOE - didn't usually eat breakfast but would get the munchies around 10 or 11 but that has gone now. After the first flush of night wees sleep has been better - might be unconnected though.

ilovecherries · 14/12/2017 11:19

12.2 again this morning. Almost got under 170. Once that's secure, I will have lost 4 stone since 1 Jan, 3.5 since starting bootcamp in May. skin looking a bit crinkly above my belly button but it has done that before, then tightened again. Unlike my arse, which has collapsed Xmas Grin. I think most of the last stone needs to come off my belly though, as it's the only place left that still has proper fat. My lower belly is a lumpy, bumpy landscape. I hope that settles but I'm wondering if it's due to a couple of CS's and a laporotomy in the days before they did keyhole. Because they must have had to somehow stick a fair amount of fat back together, so it maybe looked smooth at the time, but now as I've lost fat, maybe it wasn't. Oh well, battle scars.

Scabbersley · 14/12/2017 11:21
  1. 0 for me this morning

Had a whisky mac last night after getting very cold and wet at football. It was lovely.

prettybird · 14/12/2017 11:58

Very few people see us undressed though Ilovecherries so we shouldn't worry too much about battle scars! Xmas Wink

12 stone 2lb for me too this morning ** Smile in fact I saw 12 stone 1 and 3/4lb before my shower Shock I've lost 39lb since I started at the end of May - just short of 3 stone Smile

I'm still hopeful of losing the extra 2.25lb by Christmas so that I can see the 11s on the scales Xmas Grin

My lower tummy is also looking a bit extra squidgy (

ilovecherries · 14/12/2017 12:18

I bought three new bras from bravissimo about 6 weeks ago, and they are all now on the tightest hook, although the cups are still fitting, so I think I will be same shortly, prettybird. It's a swimming custome I'm struggling with. We go on holiday next month (uk, so don't really want a bikini) and what fit me on the bust (34 JJ) is horrible in the bottom, all saggy and baggy, and loose around the legs. I think I'm going to have to consider the tankini route, though I hate them, and can never get the bloody things on/off. Mainly as I've never mastered fastening a bra round your back, I've always been a swirler.

upsidedown2017 · 14/12/2017 12:24

Omelette done. So grateful I've got a cold as it's completely cancelled out all sugar cravings I've been battling daily with for months. It's midday and I've stuck to a diet for a whole morning! Miracle for me.

Rshard · 14/12/2017 13:00

I’ve also visited bravissimo, they’re doing very well out of us bootcampers it seems! I’ve noticed my stretch marks from pregnancy are more pronounced, but I’m ok with that. Battle scars as you say.

FurryTurnip · 14/12/2017 14:26

Well done Ilove, Scabbers and Cherries. Great achievements!

I also have some still wobbly bits so need to do some toning, I have a Kettlebell workout I enjoy so really need to get off my backside and do it. My stomach is now flat now I am at goal but still have my little apron thing from c section scar, so we all have bits like that.

Well done Upside for the start of day 1!

ASDismynormality · 14/12/2017 16:05

Some great losses here!

Good luck upside I'm sure you will get lots of support and inspiration here even at this difficult time of year!

Gammeldragz · 14/12/2017 19:24

Hello all. Sorry for going MIA. I have to admit to a day of carby twatness on Sunday. So this week weight is up on last week. The cravings it sets off really make it not worth it, only felt properly in control again today. Hoping to shift a pound or two of it by Monday then maintain until January but realistically I know my planned two days off for Xmas will do more damage than that if I eat everything I've got my eye on!

Congratulations to everyone who has got to goal in time for Christmas!

c4 good to see you, hope the SATs are improved today.

Scales - I have Omron ones that also do body fat (not hugely accurate for that) that are very consistent, had them 8 years now.

ilovecherries · 14/12/2017 20:06

:). DH and I popped into Starbucks tonight after work, and he was watching me as I walked back from the toilet and said 'you actually look bloody hot'. Xmas Grin life in the old dogs yet! Although today I was just reflecting that as I've lost weight, I've started to look after myself a lot better as well, and bothering about hair/nails/clothes in a way that I stopped doing decades ago.

ilovecherries · 14/12/2017 20:07

I know part of that was just part of the child rearing years, but a lot of it was down to me feeling I wasn't worth bothering about.

BerylStreep · 14/12/2017 21:32

Hi All,

Great achievements Hippo & ASD, amongst others.

KOKO for me. Today I had:

B: Spinach, egg & cheese in the microwave. Coffee with almond milk.
L: the insides of 3 sandwiches (work conference)
D: shepherds pie made with celeriac topping

I've really cut down on my portion sizes, and don't feel hungry as a result. Too much wine though - there's too much in the house for Xmas.

I've menu planned for the week ahead, and it is looking like this:

Salmon & Feta bake (adapted from IPD cookbook - I add green beans & carrot)
Ribeye steak with roasted beetroot & goats cheese salad
Roasted chicken thighs with celeriac dauphinoise (IPD cookbook)
Spiced Cauliflower soup (Produce on Parade recipe - this is divine)
Rinse & repeat for remainder of week.

BrassicaBabe · 14/12/2017 21:38

Just was is going on when you just have to eat?! I've managed to stop at a small chunk of cheese, a tea spoon of peanut butter and a snack pepperami. Totally not hungry but totally had to do it.

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 15/12/2017 00:10

@upsidedown2017
As the more experienced ladies will tell get your measurements as well as your weight.
As sometimes the scales don't move but the inches do. Get pictures to because we don't always remember our shape correctly.

They will become very motivational around weeks 4 and 5.

So welcome to day 1 of the rest of your life.
Hope you feel better tomorrow and
Enjoy day 1 again.
Rules No cheating on day 1 allowed.
What HAS happened Has happened to late to change. We can only change the future..

Don't forget to read all the info in the spreadsheet and recipe thread.

Rshard · 15/12/2017 08:09

Yesterday’s food was
B - bacon avo mushrooms
L - brussels cauliflower nuked with butter (burnt the roof of my mouth - ouch!)
D - cottage pie with swede

2 glasses of wine at a retirement party but ignored the buffet.

How’s everyone feeling as we approach the last weekend of boot camp?

ilovecherries · 15/12/2017 08:37

I'm feeling optimistic and focussed Rshard. I've messed about with will I/won't I thinking about Xmas off-days and decided that I won't. So it will be business as usual in Cherry Towers. I hope enough people will stay around on this thread though - I'd miss you all very much if everyone disappeared.

blackteaplease · 15/12/2017 09:06

I'll be checking in over Christmas for my own sanity, 6 nights at the inlaws is a challenge for me!

Yesterdays food was
B: yogurt and 2x coffee
L: emmental and salami slices with egg mayo, olives and tomatoes
S: a spoonful of kids bolognese sauce
D: xmas night out, terrine (1 small slice toast), hake on samphire with cauli and cabbage and the inside of a small pecan pie. And quite a lot of red wine.

FurryTurnip · 15/12/2017 09:15

I'm feeling good about the final weekend Rshard and nervously looking forward to starting maintenance next week. Will also really miss the support on here. I've barely looked at any other MN threads for the past few weeks and have enjoyed being on here for the positivity, ignoring all the other crap in the world!

Yesterday's food:

B: omelette and guacamole
L: saag paneer
D: boiled egg and half protein roll
S: Greek yogurt with clotted cream and berries.
Too much dark chocolate....
Not enough veg!

Today

B: chia porridge with cream and nuts
L: omelette and guacamole
D: saag paneer (I made a huge pot of it)

A bit repetitive at moment but I've been batch cooking, plus working odd hours so need quick and easy stuff to grab.

Rshard · 15/12/2017 09:23

I am too cherries, that’s been a huge surprise for me to be honest. I’m not usually good at sustaining things!

I’m glad to hear that you and blacktea will be around over Christmas, I’ll definitely be around for support.

You’ve done so brilliantly furry, surely you can still hang out here though??

TimeIhadaNameChange · 15/12/2017 09:48

I saw 8 stone something this morning (8 13.6 to be exact!) (Bizarrely, I don't think my mind is accepting it. The first time I wrote 13 stone, and then, 9. Something odd's going on!).

I know this is just my new 'bouncing' low, (ie tomorrow's weight is likely to be 9 1 or 2, and I won't get back down below 9 for, possibly, a few weeks) but it is nice to know that my body can get down there again. Now I just need to lose the last stone and I'll be ecstatic (especially if I can lose the tummy as well, there has to be a way, surely?!).

BerylStreep · 15/12/2017 09:50

I had a really vivid dream last night that I ate some oatcakes. In my dream I felt really disappointed in myself. I was Smile when I woke up this morning to realise it was just a dream. Probably a sign of my all or nothing type of thinking though, which isn't that great.

FurryTurnip · 15/12/2017 09:57

Congratulations Time that must be great to see and I am sure you will sustain it, even if it waits a week or two!

Rshard I shall definitely hang around, and you never know I may need the January bootcamp but really hope not.

Off for a walk soon to a lovely cheese shop a few miles away to stock up on festive loveliness, am far too excited about cheese...
