Most of all stay a frigging alive and be happy.

YYY

Sending love to you C4

Rshard · 08/12/2017 06:26

Best wishes to you c4

blackmozart, some wise words from ilove, I’d remind you how far you’ve come, you’ve lost a big chunk of weight and must feel so much better?

Yesterday’s food
B - scrambled eggs avo
L - ham salad mayo
D - chicken swede cauliflower broccoli

prettybird · 08/12/2017 07:53

Wrote my long post last night and didn't see C4's news Blush

Hope that you get better enough soon to go home before Christmas. At least it means that everyone else has to do the preparation! Xmas Wink

BIWI · 08/12/2017 08:01

Sorry to hear you're poorly again, C4 - but agree with PP. Now is the time for others to worry about Christmas!

@prettybird you showed amazing restraint! (And the pork sounds fantastic)

@BlackMozart sorry you're feeling glum. And I'll point out the obvious - that you are losing weight, and the scales are going in the right direction. Just remind yourself of all the lovely things you can eat on this WOE, and then think back to what it was like trying to do a low calorie diet. All those low fat yoghurts, highly processed cupasoups and general 'gnawingyourarmoff' hungry feeling.

Off to an annual Christmas lunch today, which will be definitely a place for carby twattery - and I don't care! It's the only posh do I get to go to, so I've got my little tighter than I wanted black dress out, and I'm off to have my hair done this morning.

Morning all, sorry, I've been AWOL, been an extremely busy week both at home and at work. A few carby slip-ups along the way Blush. However I got back to it yesterday and have had a whoosh this morning and am 1.2lb down since Sunday (was 0.8 up on Monday, so 2lb down again by today). I am weighing randomly about 4x a week and logging it all on my Fitbit.

I went to the GP for my middle-aged person's checkup this week. HBA1c (blood sugar levels) absolutely fine, which is a relief, but my cholesterol has crept up, so I was handed the standard NHS diet sheet of low-ish fat/low-ish carb and told to have it checked again in 6 months. It has made me think about how much cheese and animal fat I am eating, probably too much even for this WOE, I have been snacking on cheese and pork scratchings a lot rather than making proper meals and probably not enough veg. Probably also explains my slow weight-loss (although I should add that I'm happier with a slow steady loss than a fast one). So I am going to try and get more strict with myself, cut the snacks and try and make sure more veg are eaten.

C4 - sending you best wishes, I hope you feel better soon, and that you can find a way forward with regard to your home situation, DH's work etc.

FurryTurnip · 08/12/2017 10:17

Sorry to hear that C4, wishing you a speedy recovery. I shall wave to you as I pass QMC later and send get well vibes.

Sayrra thanks again for chia porridge recipe, had it for breakfast. Was dubious at first but once the double cream was added it was lovely, just the right amount of stodge for a cold snowy morning.

I've woken up much more positive after a bit of a rubbish week, so am doing some cooking so I have decent low carb stuff at hand and am back on it! I've had serious dark chocolate slippage in past few weeks so no more now, I'll allow myself a couple of pieces of very good stuff at Xmas and that's it. Onwards and upwards everyone, we've all done so well, slowly but surely we are getting there.

BIWI · 08/12/2017 10:21

For when you're wondering about the benefits of low carb ...

Here's a link to a piece talking about the role of sugar in Alzheimer's

Morning all. 11.13.5 this morning! Yesssss!

B/L: two sausages (leftover from casserole), scrambled egg, mayo

Will have a small tuna salad later to get some veggies in as I am planning fathead pizza tonight. Am at a sports thing and won't be home and cosy until 10ish!

starsky22 · 08/12/2017 11:34

Sorry to hear that C4 sending you get better vibes and yes don't worry about Christmas, others can sort if needed Flowers

FurryTurnip · 08/12/2017 11:35

Well done Scabbers!

Well done, Scabbers! I'm right behind you. Saw a new low this am (169.8), and while it won't last, it's a def promise that 11 is round the corner. Have given my head a wobble after feeling so sorry for myself earlier in the week and feeling a little perkier. Sometimes I'm just so freaking ANGRY at myself that I let this happen in the first place.

Rshard · 08/12/2017 12:00

Enjoy your lunch BIWI

Well done on the whoosh whoknows

furry’s post has made me realise I forgot to buy chia!

Nice work scabbersley

prettybird · 08/12/2017 12:11

Well done Scabbersley - you got there after all! Flowers

Like Ilovecherries , I'm also trying to break through to the 11s by Christmas. I'm still sticking at 12 stone 4.5lb (was actually up on that the last couple of days Xmas Blush but saw it again today) so I've still got 4.75lb to go Xmas Shock

Not been good on the water this week and have been albeit low carb snacking a bit too much but recognised again yesterday so hopefully that's me back on track.

A NSV though is that I can get back into just my favourite pair of jeans - 10 year old slight Boot Cut, size 12 jeans albeit somewhat pre stretched as they were worn while I was putting weight on Xmas Smile Just need to break out the sewing machine and work out how to thread it as it is an antique Singer that I acquired to zig zag in a patch to fix the worn out bit between the thighs Xmas Blush

What I like about "older" jeans is that the material is more substantial. Xmas Smile

ilovecherries · 08/12/2017 12:17

I had to buy a pair of 12s today as well, prettybird. I suspect it's a roomy brand (tried on my DD's old 12s as she's an 8 now, and they were still too tight), but I actually don't care if it's vanity sizing, it made me inordinately chuffed!

blackteaplease · 08/12/2017 12:19

Emotional eating is a bugger. I have gone off plan for lunch today for comfort after attending a memorial service for burying of ashes of my friend' husband.
I am supposed to be working from home today and want to curl up in bed with a book instead. Must muster up some strength from somewhere.

prettybird · 08/12/2017 12:31

Can't actually fit non-pre-stretched Size 12s yet Ilovecherries Xmas Blush :in fact, I had to take two pairs of Size 14s (straight leg & skinny) back to Sainsbury's as the muffin top was excruciatingly awful Xmas BlushXmas Shock - despite my pair of Sainsbury's Size 16 skinnies literally falling off me Xmas Confused

I'm going to go to M&S and try and find a black pair that fits well to keep me going. I have a very high waist that means that low rise jeans look ridiculous on me Xmas Hmm - and even most modern supposedly high waisted jeans are still well below my natural waist Xmas Confused that's why I like my old pair

You're taller than me (I'm only 5' 5.5") so you'll be carrying your weight better than me Xmas Smile

Almahart · 08/12/2017 13:14

KOKO here - have had a great week actually, down to below my target weight for the whole bootcamp!

No way am I about to blow it for some quality street.

Christmas do tonight but ordered fairly carefully (can't remember what though!)

FurryTurnip · 08/12/2017 13:31

Very well done Alma that's a great achievement!

TimeIhadaNameChange · 08/12/2017 14:01

BlackMozart - I read somewhere, a while back, that you either lose inches or pounds and that seems to have been the way my body's reacted to this woe. I'm losing at less than a pound a week but I'm looking so much better for it. One friend said, in August, that I'd lost an awful lot of weight since I'd seen her last, about three weeks previously, but actually I'd lost about a pound. However, the inches had disappeared.

Take some photos now, and then some more in a month. You will notice a difference.

And thanks for the recipe! My waist may not thank you, mind!

C4 - so sorry to hear your news. Thoughts are with you. x

Rshard · 08/12/2017 14:17

Wow alma, well done you!

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 08/12/2017 18:27

@ilovecherries
Do be angry with history, If I hadn't been fat I wouldn't be happy now just because I'm only slightly overweight.

AND you would have never join this forum and we would never had a chat and , was that a bell , did an Angel just get their wings.

BlackMozart · 08/12/2017 20:58

Thank you Rshard, BIWI and Time for your helpful suggestions. You are right of course. I definitely feel better. To not feel bloated and over full is great. I think part of the problem yesterday was I met with a client of mine and she had lost 5 stone in just a few months doing ‘that’ VLCD just as I did in 2012 and so I think that set me back a bit. It doesn’t help, that I have some of that ‘food’ in my pantry and can’t bring myself to throw it away. It will go out of date soon anyway. I have a good day food wise and I have had a glass of red wine tonight and it was delicious. I am not going to dwell. I will koko. And I’ve signed up to Happy Scale too.

scabbersley well done on reaching the 11’s. That is great. C4so sorry to hear what a hard time you are having. I hope you feel better soon and that 2018 brings happier times. 💐

BlackMozart · 08/12/2017 21:00

And well done to alma* too. That’s the attitude!

BlackMozart · 08/12/2017 21:00
