Evening. Today's food:

B - coffee with almond milk
L - crunchy salad with pepper, cucumber celery & spring onion, shredded duck and homemade mayo
S - couple of small chunks of cheddar
D - Not really hungry. Have had 120g anti-pasta platter.

I've put on a lb since the weekend. Meh. Need to drink more water.

Rshard · 06/12/2017 20:16

Well done secret!

Today’s food
B - scrambled eggs
L - sprouts
D - cheese omelette

Not enough green stuff today, but will do better tomorrow

SayrraT · 06/12/2017 20:50

Well done secret

Yummy dinner tonight, had salmon, green beans and mashed turnip (swede for everyone not from Scotland!) with loads of butter.

YoLoElfSocks · 06/12/2017 20:56

Hi everyone.

ilove £9 a tin!!!! It's just poncy cocoa powder! Glad you enjoyed it though and bravely eschewed the mince pies. I declined delicious mini puds at a work do today. Am still fantasizing about what they would have tasted like.

I was so busy at work today I survived on 2 small slices of pork belly for breakfast and a big creamy coffee until 4pm when I finally stopped for lunch. Guess what, I didn't faint. I didn't gnaw my own arm off. I didn't canniballise one of my colleagues. And then I ate only low carb buffet items at work do. Good day all round I'd say. I had wine. Which oddly i enjoyed as i dont really like wine

Gammeldragz · 06/12/2017 20:59

ilove sorry you're having a down day Flowers
secret well done! You're in the zone Smile

Food today
12:30 - protein roll with bacon and mayo.
5:30 - bolognese with courgette and Parmesan. Wasn't a huge portion but I feel stuffed. Dinner seems to be making me bloated this week... Mind you, last three dinners have been mince/onion/tomato based, so maybe it's the onion? Will try to have something lighter tomorrow.

BerylStreep · 06/12/2017 21:55

Gammeldragz I went to see a dietician over the summer, and she gave me information on Fodmaps. Onions and garlic can be problematic for some people and can cause bloating & gas.

Mimosa1 · 06/12/2017 22:00

Hi everyone

Today's food:

B - milky tea
L - beef stir fry plus a spring roll (not great I know but I resisted the noodles under the beef and was v hungry) + 2 diet cokes (i know! I know!)
D - 2 MLB cutlets, 2 sardines, artichoke and Serrano at a Spanish restaurant. Amazing LC choices at tapas restaurants. I know someone mentioned tapas on thread a while ago - I've been really pleasantly surprised.
Lots of water.

Not the best day food wise, but compared to what I used to eat ? Loads better.

Cherries.* I hope the ketone thing improves soon. I confess I'm curious about what they smell like too. I've never really had that ketosis feeling tbh

To everyone feeling lousy, sending good wishes your way.

StuntNun · 06/12/2017 22:08

Cherries I don't like getting too low on carbs and getting into ketosis either. It makes me feel jittery. I think I have a pretty small window for ideal carb intake where I feel good but don't have a lot of hunger/cravings.

SayrraT · 06/12/2017 22:10

Ketones can smell a bit like pear drops (the hard sweets) or a bit like acetone.

The hot chocolate sounds yummy cherries but I'm not sure about the chilli Grin

YoLo your colleagues will be glad too!

Scabbersley · 06/12/2017 22:31

I have ketostix so know I am in ketosis.

I had a blinding headache earlier this evening. Took two nurofen and ate a handful of almonds - as soon as I had eaten the almonds the headache disappeared!

BlackMozart · 06/12/2017 22:34

Not weighing this week because I missed this morning as well so getting ridiculous. Will go back to Tuesday next week. Doing ok food wise but feel heavy today. Have had pork belly, celeriac and brussels or spinach Monday,Tues, and today for dinner. Couple of squares of dark choc. Either breakfast or lunch but not both. Did make parsley sauce to go with gammon on Sunday and used flour so maybe that had an impact but other than that and my choc and coconut cream pot Saturday and Sunday I have stayed on the path. I haven’t been drinking anything like enough water this week though so will make an effort tomorrow. So far Christmas temptations have passed me by but this weekend will be a test of nerve.

JumpingIntoLCHF · 06/12/2017 23:01

Forgot to check in! Please can someone put me down as 242?

YoLoElfSocks · 07/12/2017 00:28

scabbers could it be a complete coincidence then that the two Nurofen immediately preceded said headache disappearing?

Beware of the tendency to naval gaze and overanalyse and decide that everything that happens in your body is linked to your diet!

Sometimes a cold is just a cold not carb flu and a headache is just a headache not carb flu Grin

Jerm123 · 07/12/2017 00:31

Thanks Scabbersly, Stuntnun, Rshard. I’m glad there is a logical reason for the loss. I definitely can’t/won’t indulge in carbs too often, as i have the self- control of a gnat!
First world problem over. DS had a day at the civil Service assessment center yesterday to apply for their graduate training scheme. Had to be in London at 1pm. Phoned me up at 9am to say his suit had a hole in the trousers and could I bring another one (he is at university) rushed it there and then him to the station - fortunately he heard today he has got a place for next year. I think I may have a glass of something to celebrate at the weekend.
btw, the fathead pizza dough can be transformed into blinis, to eat with cream cheese and salmon, by adding slightly more egg and cooking in very small sizes for 5 mins instead of 10.

Hippadippadation · 07/12/2017 06:19

I've had my whoosh, down to 118lbs today. Only 1lb to go until goal! I've definitely been trying maintenance, eating more fruit etc and the more carby veg.

Sorry I've not been around as much, life is hectic at the moment. I'll read the full thread later on today.

SayrraT · 07/12/2017 06:49

Well done hippa that's excellent!

SayrraT · 07/12/2017 06:50

Well done hippa that's excellent!

Rshard · 07/12/2017 06:53

Well done to your son jerm and you for jumping into action!

That’s fabulous hippa!!

SayrraT · 07/12/2017 07:30

Having chia porridge again today I quite like it so here's the 'recipe' in case anyone else wants to try it.

2 tablespoons chia
100 mls almond milk
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Microwave for 1 min, stir, microwave 30 s

I added nuts and double cream at this point Grin

blackteaplease · 07/12/2017 07:32

I'm trying that Sayrra, there is very little food in our house this morning and so far I have had berries and 2 coffees.

Rshard · 07/12/2017 07:58

Thanks sayyra, where’s a good place to buy chia?

SayrraT · 07/12/2017 08:05

I bought it on amazon rshard I think it was seven hills or something like that. It's a big bag though. You can also get it in the supermarket, I've seen it in Tesco and asda.

Hippadippadation · 07/12/2017 08:06

Right, I've caught up now. Congratulations to all those losing and Secret you've made a really good start, well done.

ilove you seem to react to carbs. I've noticed I'm a lot less "psychotic" when I eat at the higher end of the carb scale. I've been between 30-85g for the past week or so and I definitely feel better in myself at the higher end.

Sayrra I'm so going to try that porridge, sounds delicious.

Rshard you can get chia anywhere, all the big supermarkets stock it now. LIDL have multipacks of 5g portions as well, which is handy.

Jerm I never thought about making blinis out of fathead dough! Will be trying that as I'm doing smoked salmon blinis for xmas day starter. Making my own smoked salmon pate as well after seeing Gregg Wallace doing it on Eat Well for Less earlier in the week, it's very easy and low carb.

blackteaplease · 07/12/2017 08:08

We get chia at lidl.

That was quite nice but I stupidly added dedicated coconut and it created a weird texture, I'll grind it
next time.

Also, my packet says do not exceed 15g chia in one day so I halved the recipe.

Rshard · 07/12/2017 08:09

Thanks hippa and sayyra, got to nip to Sainsbury’s later so I’ll have a look
