Sorry for the later start than usual

Here's the Spreadsheet .

So our last two weeks - time, if you wanted, to go back to Bootcamp proper and really make sure you maximise the chances of losing another few pounds.

Good luck all Flowers

Thanks Hippa

Sarrya I’ll try that porridge as it was tough this morning...so wanted my usual porridge. I had eggs, and my weird almond bread I made last night. Like cake with no sugar.

prettybird · 07/12/2017 08:46

Secret - I know you've done really well trying to jump in late on in the Boot Camp and giving up things that were real habits (for me it was giving up orange juice in the morning: I used to say I couldn't function until I'd had it would refuse to kiss dh until I'd "cleansed" my mouth with some but now I don't miss it) but...... if you are still on the first two weeks of Boot Camp, you shouldn't be having nuts (unless you're vegetarian) Shock

Mimosa - I think it was you who asked about the egg fast. I lost 4lb on it (3 days "full", then 2 days partial, to warn off it), with a 1/2lb rebound afterwards. I mostly had omelettes (plain and cheese), egg salad (boiled eggs mashed up with butter and mayonnaise), fried eggs and scrambled eggs. I did try snickerdoodle pancakes, but minus the artificial sugar, which were ok (bit like flat pancakes though) and then tried my own version with added baking powder to make more American-style pancakes, which were quite nice. I really like cinnamon though.

I'm going to do another 24 hour fast this Friday into Saturday (which always seems quite easy) and I'll consider another egg fast maybe the end of next week if I feel I'm needing another whoosh.

The thing I like about egg fasts is that it stops me snacking like I've been doing the last couple of days Blush as I have to go to the trouble of cooking an egg. And you never feel hungry. Smile

SayrraT · 07/12/2017 09:08

black so does mine but 2 tablespoons is 10g I think.

FurryTurnip · 07/12/2017 09:10

Well done Hippa will be interested in hearing how it's gone with introducing other carbs. The maintenance thread has gone a bit quiet of late.

Thanks for porridge recipe Sayrra will definitely try that as I've really missed porridge.

ClearEyesFullHearts · 07/12/2017 09:43

Going back to rshard's waffle Berry pudding--are you ex-Pampered Chef?!

Rshard · 07/12/2017 10:12

The recipe is from there clear, but I’ve not been to a pampered chef party thing. We had it at a friends house and I swiped the recipe!

SecretSix · 07/12/2017 11:04

Thanks Pretty, I hadn’t realised that. I’m not vegetarian, but I very seldom eat meat, so I’ll keep the nut consumption low. Eating lots of fish though. I’m doing this more for my IBS than weight loss, although losing a bit a stone would be a bonus. I probably don’t need to be as hardcore as full boot camp rules, but I’m really appreciating the support.

Pretty I won’t tell if you don’t Wink Grin

ClearEyesFullHearts · 07/12/2017 12:21

rshard I used to do Pampered Chef about a thousand years ago, just to get out of the house. Waffle berry pudding is pretty much the first thing we were trained to demonstrate as it's so easy and gorgeous.

I never liked it as not a fan of dessert but it was always a huge hit.

In fact, all this recent talk of what dessert everyone is making at Christmas has left me cold. Simply waiting to take the leftover turkey and make my mother's Ham & Turkey salad, which turns out to be amazingly perfect for LCHF, hooray.

Turkey, ham (gammon), celery, onions (or shallots), hard boiled eggs, cheddar cheese, and the secret ingredient Durkee's sauce (or mix of mayonnaise and Dijon mustard). All chopped and mixed together. Food. Of. The. Gods.

SoMuchToBits · 07/12/2017 12:52

I'm looking forward to lots of nice cheese at Christmas. And my sister's potted pork. Xmas Smile

Rshard · 07/12/2017 13:05

Ah clear, I wondered why you recognised it. My dd’s pick for Xmas day.

I too am looking forward to a Christmas ham, every year we say that we’ll do on during the year - but never do! I’m planning a seafood feast for Boxing Day, which will suit this woe perfectly.

BIWI · 07/12/2017 13:33

Afternoon all. Apologies for absence but it's been a very full on time at work - mad rush to get stuff done before Christmas.

I'm going to a fancy lunch tomorrow, and tried my dress on earlier this week only to find it's much tighter than I remembered Angry

My own fault though.

Food has been a much lower priority recently, plus DH has been doing the cooking, so I've been going with the flow a bit too much.

But I'm very glad to read that it seems to be going so well for so many of you!

Gammeldragz · 07/12/2017 16:41

clear eyes that turkey and ham thing sounds amazing!

ClearEyesFullHearts · 07/12/2017 17:27

ragz it so is. Even in winter, when you wouldn't think you'd want a cold meal.

I'll do it and upload a photo to help give an idea of proportions. It really is one of those "to taste" recipes, but the main thing is equal parts turkey/ham, then donequal parts of celery/onion, plenty of egg, and don't be stingy with the Durkee's (or Mayo/Dijon) as it's supposed to make a slightly squishy sound when mixed.

You're meant to know the fat is there for you.

FurryTurnip · 07/12/2017 18:37

I'm checking in just for the sake of checking in. My heads not really in the zone at the moment. I've not fallen off the wagon really but had a fairly crap, disorganised, not ideal week of eating. Got a hectic weekend ahead but focusing on Monday, a fresh start, refocus and get to goal! So near and yet so far....

Mimosa1 · 07/12/2017 18:50

Im also struggling - had a work lunch out that was very carbs and I was hungry and didn't make good choices, sigh. I don't want it to detail me completely though. I'm not ready for Christmas indulgence to take over, it's only Dec 7th! I saw 800g up on the scale this morning though and I'm are it contributed to the "sod it" feeling. Oh dear. Lots of water tomorrow and onwards.

BlackMozart · 07/12/2017 19:20

Just seeing if I can add photos of the Springfield Pear Cake recipe for those that are interested. I am generally not a fan of ginger in sweet things but this is just lovely.

clear I am going to do my best to resist dessert on Christmas Day (and truth be told I might not even make it). I have a work Christmas do at a v posh London Hotel on 21st and I have chosen sensibly from the menu I hope. Artichoke salad to start, roast Cod for main and cheese minus biscuits for dessert. (I’ve stepped away from the lush sounding
chocolate number). We always have lovely wines though so I am going to have some that night but it will be the first in weeks by then which is something. I get to stay overnight which will mean a full on breakfast too 😊

Also feeling a bit fed up tonight. Since 6 September I’ve gone from just under 14:13 to 13:8 (and a half) assuming I haven’t put on this week which is pretty good but only 5.5 lbs in 6 weeks here because I started 23/10 - which isn’t a lot. If I can’t manage 1lb a week it just feels too hard. I know this is not how I usually feel and I do feel better eating this way definitely but with around 53-56lbs to go I won’t even do it by this time next year. Sighs...☹️

ilovecherries · 07/12/2017 21:53

Mozart, Happy Scale predicts I will reach my goal weight on 22 May - a year to the day after I started. So that year can pass and I will be slim. Or it can pass and I would still be fat. Either way, it will pass and I know which I prefer :). You can do this!

BlackMozart · 07/12/2017 22:08

Thanks ilovecherries I know you are right as I often look back over the last three years and think there were so many times when I could have been doing this but just kept putting on weight instead. Tomorrow is another day to koko.

BerylStreep · 07/12/2017 22:10

Hello all! I had an unexpected day off today as both DC sick. It gave me a chance to get the Xmas decorations down from the attic and make a start on the tree.

Todays food:

B - coffee with almond milk
L - crunchy salad, cheese coleslaw & 2 slices of ham
D - homemade pork meatballs with courgetti & red pepper and sauce made from tahini, almond butter, coconut aminos, rice vinegar & garlic. It was heavenly.

All the talk of Xmas day pudding has got me thinking. I usually make Nigella's clementine cake, and use half the amount of sugar. It uses almonds as a base. I think that with some berries and cream would be delicious, and something to look forward to.

Secret you sound like you have made a great start. Well done.

C4rollinandventing · 07/12/2017 22:22

I'm in the QMC with pneumonia again but at least I'm conscious this time. I was in a terrible panic about Christmas anyway so this has done me no favours at all.

prettybird · 07/12/2017 22:44

I had lunch out again with my dad - this time with dh as well - at our favourite Italian restaurant, Sarti's. I chose from the Christmas lunch menu: slow roasted pork belly stuffed with apricot and fennel, served with green beans and roast potato. I asked for extra veg rather than the roast potatoes and they gave me more beans and some broccoli Xmas Smile I ended up leaving most of the apricot stuffing.

Instead of fudge icecream and caramel sauce (which is what my dad had Xmas Hmm) I had a lovely trio of Italian cheeses. They were served up with crackers, sliced apple and a wee bowl of honey (Xmas Shock) - which dh enjoyed rather than me Xmas Grin

Meal enjoyed with a litre of water rather than the Peroni that dad and dh had!

Enjoyed the meal and was still so full that all I've had this evening was 2 babybels.

Had a bit of a disaster on the way in to meet dad: there was a loud ping from the middle of the car as we drove down the driveway Shock Checked, couldn't see anything. Turned out onto the road. Checked again. Couldn't see anything. Drove over one of the speed bumps close to the house - definite clunk Shock Checked again, couldn't see anything. Confused Decided we would drive on in but straight to "our" garage, which is just on the other side of the city centre. Wondered as we were driving along our street and car seemed to be ok, that maybe we were panicking unnecessarily. Turned into the main road. More clunks. Decided we were definitely going straight to the garage. Dh drove there gingerly (which includes a short section sort-of-on the M8 over the Kingston Bridge Shock). Car seemed fine again. Turned into a parking space outside the garage. Definite clunk again Confused

Garage were great: came out straightaway, turned the steering wheel and looked through the wheel arch and confirmed that a spring had gone in the steering Shock .....they then apologised that they might not be able to fix it today Hmm We told them not to be silly (it's just a wee garage - 2 mechanics and then another 2 guys who do very good bodywork) and tomorrow would be fine (longer, if that's what it takes - but not having a car over the weekend could be difficult).

Hopefully it won't cost too much - they're always very reasonable and we trust them not to rip us off.

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 08/12/2017 00:20

@C4rollinandventing
Well stressing will do you no favours.
Relax and plan the tasks. What HAS to be done v NICE to have done.
See if you can role skids into completing a task for DH. Be the general in the war on Christmas preparations.

Most of all stay a frigging alive and be happy.
