Morning all.

It's horribly wet and windy here Darn Sarf - bit of a washout this Easter weekend.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for one last time

Not sure how many hardy souls there are left, but hopefully those of you who have stuck the course have had good results.

Once we get to the end of this week, I'll start a general chat thread so that we can carry on logging food, sharing thoughts, asking questions etc.

Not sure when the next Bootcamp will be, but we can use the next thread to keep us going until then, if you want to stay.

feekerry I also meant to add that I drizzle a little olive oil on my salads to boost the fat a bit. It's lovely.
B: 2 boiled eggs
L: Chicken salad and mayo
D: Chicken curry
S: Pork crackling again

feekerry · 20/04/2016 19:23

Thanks all. Been much better today. I really will try to knock protein shake on head.
I just really struggle to eat anything at that time and can't eat at work and it needs to be something I can eat in car in between dropping kids off/parking/walking to work.
Pre low carb I used to stop at greggs few mins up from work but obv that is a no go now!!!!

NigellasGuest · 20/04/2016 20:37

just popping by to say I'm now 8 stone 10 and very happy about that!
KOKO everyone!!!!!!

ShebaQueen · 20/04/2016 21:35

Wow, well done Nigella, what's your total weight loss overall?

lexloofah · 21/04/2016 09:43

wow nigella that's brill, congrats

for gnocchi I think they would have been better if I hadn't boiled them first and gone straight to frying, but still then really just fried cheese. Yes celeriac probably best but needs something to mimic the starch like xanthan gum or psyllium husk to rubberize for want of a better term, where is GCAL I bet she has a recipe tucked away somewhere

ChesterDrawers · 21/04/2016 09:58

Wow Nigella, that would be my ultimate goal weight Hmm, I bet you feel amazing!

Scales are finally nudging down, 10st 9 today. AF is due next week though and boobs are sore so hoping I'm due a whoosh once that passes.

Hectic morning so far, so no lunch organised. Only just had time to grab breakfast but did chuck tea in the slow cooker.

Plan:
B: yog and cream
L: something from m&s
D: chilli sans kidney beans, cauli rice with butter, sour cream and cheese

nekobus · 21/04/2016 15:26

Well done Nigella, that's great!

Chester your current weight is my goal weigh Smile at least you are heading in the right direction, I've just had my 'period that appears at start of bootcamp' after re-starting last Mon so now that's gone hoping for a little whoosh. Don't weigh yourself until it's gone!!

Managed 2 trips into London this week with combo of preparedness and m&s at the station. Also found a tesco express with hb eggs in salad bar so had me some of those too!

Yesterday
B - coffee and cream
L - 2 babybel made into crisps dipped in guacamole, ham rolled up with Boursin
D - salmon with butter sauce, spinach and leeks with cream and garlic butter

Today:
B - half pack crispy bacon, babybel, olives.
L - other half crispy bacon, a few almonds, green salad
D - something with smoked salmon maybe scrambled eggs. DH away overnight so can please myself!

wombattoo · 21/04/2016 19:27

Congratulations Nigella and Chester

Same meals for me today but I succumbed to 2 biscuits Blush

feekerry · 21/04/2016 20:32

Those are some great losses and weights overall.
I am 9st 12 now. Down from 10st 13 on the 1/1/16.
Last week or so has been tough tho. Weigh in day for me tomorrow so will see what that brings. Haven't been below 9st 12 yet and don't think it will happen this week. X

BusiB · 21/04/2016 23:17

Some good losses!!! Yay.
Im doing ok but had a few days where I had a couple of sandwiches. Didn't gain but felt hungry all the time evening after eating. Realised that carbs and sugar now cause me to feel hungry very soon after eating them. Lower carb eating definitely helps me to feel hungry and satisfied more. Been doing this for a year now and I think it will be my default way of eating forever now. I find I can have carbs occasionally and its ok as long as I don't overdo it.

ShebaQueen · 22/04/2016 10:55

I'm in the same place as you BusiB - one year. Have you reached your target weight? I'd still like to lose another stone.

AuntieMaggie · 22/04/2016 13:03

You're all so much lighter than me Blush

Still carrying on here... made it to the gym on Weds and did all the weight machines and some strengthening/core stuff. First time in 6 months but it felt good.

Thurs
BF bacon egg and mushrooms
Lunch nothing - went swimming and had a cuppa in the cafe while ds had lunch so grabbed a handful of nuts when I got home
Dinner 'lasagne' with courgette and lc cheese sauce

Today
BF bacon egg spinach mushrooms
Lunch salad with fish or meat or feta
Dinner tbc

I felt like I needed a big pot of tea and some cake earlier but I also wanted some peace which I wasn't going to get so I had a cuppa and some water instead. Just feel crap today.

Blodynn · 22/04/2016 16:34

Sheba No I'm not yet where I want to be weight wise. I will lose another stone and a half I think. Smile What I have found though is that for this to work for me, I have to take it slow. I eater lower carb not low carb as too go to low is too restrictive. I would say I'm a paleo eater as I don't have any dairy but I do eat most fruit and veg.

Blodynn · 22/04/2016 16:44

How much do you Sheba I lost two stone last year. I had been stuck trying to get my weight to move down for years then went lower carb/paleo and it started moving and I didn't feel hungry all the time.

Blodynn · 22/04/2016 16:46

Sorry for the "to" and "toos" and other errors. My phone truly has a mind of its own.

Blodynn · 22/04/2016 16:48

AuntyMaggie I've been doing weights too and it helps to speed up my metabolism and tone up of course. Smile

ShebaQueen · 22/04/2016 18:05

Blodynn I've lost 3 and a half stones in a year, thanks to BIWI and others on this thread. I was very strict for the first 6 months, stuck to bootcamp rules rigidly. Since then I've been on BClite and my weight loss has slowed down, but I am still losing. I am lucky that I'm ok with dairy, it doesn't derail me and I usually have a couple of glasses of wine at weekends. I will never go back to my old carbaholic ways though and you are right, not feeling hungry is the key. I do find that being organised and meal planning helps too.

wombattoo · 22/04/2016 18:32

Sorry you're feeling so crap Maggie Thanks There are others on the thread who weigh more than 9/10 stone me Grin Don't let that get you down. We are all plodding on at our own pace. Well done for getting back to the gym.

Sheba Your loss is amazing Thanks

ShebaQueen · 22/04/2016 19:14

Maggie I will never weigh 9 stone, but I'd be happy at 10.5. Don't be too hard on yourself, you are doing great and you will get results. I need to exercise more, the gym is not for me, but I love dancing.

Blodynn · 22/04/2016 21:21

That's a brilliant loss Sheba!! Well done you.
Maggie I started at 14.7 and am now 12.10 but intend to be 10.11 which is about a size 10/12 for me as I am 5foot 9 .

NigellasGuest · 23/04/2016 16:01

Thank you everyone, yes I'm happy - please don't imagine I am exactly toned, however. That requires more exercise.....
Sheba I started at close to 11 stone, back in October.

Well done to you Sheba, and all the losers. It is all relative remember. At 9 stone I can still look the same way someone else might look at 10 stone, for example! And height is a factor as Blodynn says..

ChesterDrawers · 24/04/2016 09:41

Still plodding along here. Bastard scales still stuck but AF showed up early yesterday so praying that's why. I've been so good foodwise and have drank a lot less alcohol than usual this weekend.

Not eaten yet today and just put a Footner on my trotters after wearing open toed shoes yesterday and being mortified at the state of my feet! So that mean I have to sit for an hour, so no food til at least 10.30 - might as well make it brunch.

So plan - hmmmm...
B/L: scrambled eggs with cream and butter, bacon, mushrooms fried in butter
D: roast beef, swede mash, roast broccol, cauli cheese

Hoping to run in a bit but that might have to wait til my food has settled a bit. Don't fancy running with bacon and eggs swimming round inside!

How much do you have to lose, Wand? (I checked the spreadsheet but it doesn't look like you entered your weight there)

If you're getting near your target, weight loss will slow down. And don't forget, 3kg is nearly half a stone, and it's a loss!

Some things to consider:

  • are you really low carbing? Could you have a bit of carb creep going on?
  • are you eating high fat, low carb?
  • are you drinking enough water?
  • are you on any medication? This can have an impact, along with OTC remedies like ibuprofen
  • are you sleeping well?
  • are you stressed?
  • do you eat a lot of dairy? Perhaps you have an issue with this?

The other thing to say is that as you get near your target, calories do start to matter, so have a look at your portion sizes. One thing I found is that was serving myself meals/portion sizes out of habit rather than hunger, so for example if I was doing a fry-up for breakfast, I'd have 2 eggs, 2 rashers of bacon and 2 sausages - whereas, actually, I realised that because my hunger levels were pretty controlled, 1 of each would have been just as satisfying.

IF may well help you. I generally try not eat breakfast these days - but if I'm hungry, then I have something, otherwise the biscuit tin in the office gets more and more attractive Grin

Keep positive - remember you're still losing! - but take a step back and think about what you've been eating and drinking.
