Morning all.

It's horribly wet and windy here Darn Sarf - bit of a washout this Easter weekend.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for one last time

Not sure how many hardy souls there are left, but hopefully those of you who have stuck the course have had good results.

Once we get to the end of this week, I'll start a general chat thread so that we can carry on logging food, sharing thoughts, asking questions etc.

Not sure when the next Bootcamp will be, but we can use the next thread to keep us going until then, if you want to stay.

Some great meal ideas on here - thanks for sharing! I'll look out for the fajita mix Chester fab idea with the little gem. I tried really thin omelettes instead of wraps but they fell apart...

Still here, keeping on, have lost a tiny amount this week (less than a pound) but at least it is in the right direction and I've had a few meals out that have been OK, not total carb-fest but not LC either.

Today:
B - greek yog and cream with a few raspberries
L - sea bream with butter sauce (was on offer in waitrose) with creamy spinach
D - salad of lettuce, avocado, olives, smoked mackerel with lots of dressing
S - have had a few chorizo slices and some LC-ish coleslaw (and 85% choc for later)
2 x 750ml water down, 2 more to go!

wombattoo · 18/04/2016 17:54

Those meals look nice too neko I'm always a bit scared of trying fish, but it's on my to do list Grin

ChesterDrawers · 18/04/2016 18:32

Just posted fajita mix recipe I used. Nek I've tried making egg wraps but always find it sticks ad. I end up with burnt almost scramble egg, certainly nothing resembling a wrap. I once saw a recipe for cauli tortillas but have never made them. The little gems work well but are quite messy, so only for eating in close company!

AuntieMaggie · 18/04/2016 18:47

Does a gammon joint count as processed food?

Just cooked a load of spinach and mushrooms for breakfasts - may have them with scrambled egg or in a frittata with some cheese. Then leftover beef casserole for lunch tomorrow. Just need to decide on dinner. My brain hurts from thinking about food.

wombattoo · 18/04/2016 19:10

Yes, gammon is processed in the same way as bacon. The ones in the supermarket usually have loads of stuff added, including sugar.

I often by a ham joint from a high quality butcher. It doesn't have any water or additives, but is still processed.

feekerry · 18/04/2016 19:37

Okay day today after feeling like crap on sun.
B= protein shake w almond milk and peanut butter
L = left over roast chicken plus skin and remaining veg
D = salmon fillet with mashed avocado
Only 1.5l of water so need to improve this tomorrow x

nekobus · 18/04/2016 21:27

Bought some little gem today Chester! I made the 'carnitas' on recipe three (like pulled pork but no sugar/bbq sauce) a while ago and have some in freezer so will have that tomorrow night maybe stuffed in little gemSmile

Off to London tomorrow and will pick up lunch at the station - an m&s and a pret so some LC options there.

nekobus · 18/04/2016 21:34

Wombat, I like eating fish on this woe as you can have lashings of butter, oil or cream-based sauce with it as most fresh fish is quite low fat. Smoked mackerel is good although processed and some of them have sugar added - the Aldi one I get just lists ingredients as mackerel, smoke. Grin

AuntieMaggie · 18/04/2016 21:44

nekobus leon and wasabi are also good options if they have them in London.

wombat gammon joint was from the butcher. my problem is I could eat a whole one if allowed but I hid some leftovers to take to work instead of scoffing it while dishing up the other night.

ChesterDrawers · 19/04/2016 08:50

Scales are still stuck at 10st 10 but I think I am a little bit, erm, bunged Blush I've had a lot of water and quite a bit of fat so not sure why but I will stick with it and hope for the best sometime soon.

Today's plan:
B: Greek yog, double cream, six raspberries
L: Garlic chicken, avocado, salad leaves, hm mayo
D: More chicken, will probs wrap in parma ham and have it with with courgette and feta fritters and roast swede

Going to venture out for a run tomorrow, been a few weeks since my last one when I hurt my hip so hoping that will hold, This getting old lark is no fun!

AuntieMaggie · 19/04/2016 11:45

I'm stuck too (though am much heavier than you!) drinking loads of water as evidenced by my frequent trips to the loo! Will koko and see if I can fit in 3 days of uber camp type eating at the end of the week.

See the problem with bringing soup or leftovers for lunch is I always burn my tongue!

wombattoo · 19/04/2016 19:03

I suffer from the same problem when I low carb Chester Blush
Stick with it Auntie Wink

B: Boiled eggs
L: Chicken salad
D: hm beef burgers, devilled eggs, halloumi and salad.
S: Pork crackling

feekerry · 19/04/2016 19:21

Need some help here. Been seriously hungry today. Badly. I just want to stuff my face. It's been getting worse thru the day. Don't often feel this hunger...

B= protein shake (200ml of almond milk, scoop of protein powder, table spoon peanut butter)
L= grilled salmon fillet, 1/4 of avocado, cucumber, feta salad
D= sea bass fillet with remaining 3/4 of above salad
S= chunk of cheese as starving

Any thoughts?
Oh 2l of water but dos not consume first l till after 1pm...x

AuntieMaggie · 19/04/2016 19:25

I was hungry most of the day too feekerry but just drank more water and tried to distract myself! More fat perhaps?

wombattoo · 19/04/2016 19:36

There doesn't seem to be any fat in your meals fee. It's the fat that keeps you full. I don't like shakes personally and prefer a proper breakfast.
Can you add some butter to your fish and mayo to the salad?

feekerry · 19/04/2016 19:59

Ye was thinking fat. Salmon, feta, peanut butter, avocado.. They are all fatty tho aren't they??
Was thinking I was too slow re water and the hunger kicked in??

I only have the protein shake on the 2 mornings I work as can drink on the commute and takes 30 secs to make but normally as it has a scoop of protein I don't feel any hunger till lunch.

Just wondering whether some unknown carb has been sneaking in somewhere Hmm

wombattoo · 19/04/2016 20:26

Salmon is an oily fish, but on it's own, not very fatty. Not everyone can tolerate peanut butter. Does it have carbs? No fat in sea bass unless you fry it in butter. Your portions don't look very big either. Don't know if any of that helps?

BIWI · 19/04/2016 21:39

feekerry - your choices are all low fat. And really - knock the protein shakes on the head. They are probably much carbier than you think, as well as being really artificial.

You need more fat, definitely, and more water.

Grrr DH still In holiday mode, brought home fudge... was actually horribly sweet but I ate some anyway. Why lex why?

Tried my hand at LC gnocchi using mozzarella and egg yolks, erm could only be classified as a fail but we ate it anyway

Been to Aldi today so fridge all stocked with lots of LC friendly stuff

AuntieMaggie · 20/04/2016 08:04

I struggle with fat but cook most things in butter or add cheese - goodness knows what will happen if I ever have to give up dairy.

Today's menu
Breakfast: mushroom, spinach and cheese omelette
Lunch: Salmon, lettuce, cucumber and coleslaw and maybe left over brocolli
Dinner: to be decided.

I'm intending to go to the gym tonight... Can't do much but I figure anything is better than nothing and it would be good to get in the habit of going so when I can do more it's not so much of a struggle.

Oh I miss gnocchi, what a shame it was a fail Sad

Just been for a run, hip felt OK, but pace was awful. Really doubtful I'll beat my 10k pb in four and a half weeks.

Today's plan:
B: not had anything yet, might as well wait til brunch, which will be...
B/L: fry up - bacon, scrambled eggs, mushrooms with butter
D: sausages, buttery swede mash, broccoli

Will walk the dog at lunchtime too, poor thing is knackered since I started using my Fitbit. He very old and not used to all these walks anymore.

BIWI · 20/04/2016 11:28

I've been thinking about making gnocchi - was going to try and do it with celeriac and ground almonds.
