Morning all!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation.

It sounds like there might be some good results, and I'm looking forward to hearing those.

So, I've been LCing for 18 days now, 9 days BC lite, day 9 on BC today.
I last had something sweet about 12-14 days ago (raspberries).
Now, here's the thing, what happens when I have cake, or something like it?
I'm starting to get concerned as I'm not having cravings at all, but I'm worried that when I have something, the floodgates will open.
I have a lot bit of an "all or nothing" personality.
Anyone more experienced able to tell me how they have felt when they've had sugary/ carby food?
I have 3 birthdays between now and end of bootcamp, 2DC and DH. I may just abstain completely from the cake, but then part of me feels that I will have to have something eventually and it would be better to do it in a planned, controlled way rather than as a result of a bad day at work.
BTW, I said no to cake in a meeting at work yesterday and sweets today. That was fine, no problem.

debka superb loses, well done and to everyone else who posted recently. Aren't we doing well? Grin
standing I think the advice for pizza, if you can't avoid it, is to eat the topping but try and leave the base. Easier said than done, I expect...

AStoneBeforeChristmas · 20/10/2015 13:31

Breakfast was ff greek yogurt with 8 blueberries. Just had mushroom soup for lunch (fried mushrooms in butter, added water, salt and pepper, whizzed up and added a sprinkle of blue cheese and a swirl of cream) and it was delicious! And there's enough left for later.

glenthebattleostrich · 20/10/2015 13:43

Hi all,

Good day food wise today (so far!)

B - FF Nat Yogurt, 2 x chai tea with d cream and coconut oil
L - left over roast beef, salad, pork scratings (very hungry today for some reason)
T - no idea, probably chicken curry or similar.

Best of all, I'm actually drinking my water :) I remembered to fill up the jug and I've finished a full one and working on the refil now!

Contrats DrS!

desperatelyseekingamovingdate · 20/10/2015 13:54

HUNT - you dont have to have something!

In my experience if i have a little something then a few days later (esp if i get away with it weight wise) i may have another little something and then its just a slippery slope.

I really struggle to get back on the wagon and i end up having a few weeks off and it all goes to pot! ( put on a stone over summer)

I suppose it depends on how good your will power is (mine is rubbish) I also have that well i ate a tiny mouthful of something not on BC so i might as well eat a whole loafs worth of toast! I find the cravings are intense.

You can factor in a break from low carbing but you have to be prepared to accept the inevitable stall in weightloss and the hop back on the wagon. Doing it mindfully is the key.

When i have eaten carby rubbish after a period of lc-ing i get terrible IBS and a sore tummy. I have rarely found it worth it but thats only with hindsight, at the time i just cant live without it!!

Good luck in whatever you do.

regenerationfez · 20/10/2015 14:31

I tried the informal my own version of bootcamp light and completely fell off the wagon after a particularly bready weekend. Doing the hardcore version, although early days, I haven't fallen off the wagon and haven't really felt the sugar cravings I normally have.
So far today, I've had:
B: 2 scrmabled eggs in butter, smoked salmon
L: Leftover shepherds pie from dinner- Swede, leek and cauliflower mash on top and courgettes and more leeks in the mince.
D: It was a massive shepherds pie, so may have it again with stir fry cabbage, or do leftover pork roast in a cream and mushroom sauce with cauliflower mash

lavenderhoney · 20/10/2015 15:23

Ive managed to lose 2 pounds which is vg as I only started late last week:)

Drinking enough water is struggle for me and if I drink fizzy water my tummy bloats.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 20/10/2015 16:01

B: Greek yoghurt
L: Greek salad (very Greek day!)
D: Not sure, there's diced beef and chicken breasts that need using up. Will think of something - there's heaps of veg in the house so it won't be that hard.

My new discovery is roast celeriac. Mmm! I thought I hated celeriac, but I bought one to give it another go and it was delicious roasted.

I put on half a lb overnight, grr! Don't think I did anything wrong except a little bit of dark choc so will just ignore it and hope for better soon. Or possibly stop weighing until next Monday, which would be the sensible thing to do...

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 20/10/2015 16:02

I am now not hungry, but I am bored and my brain keeps going "Snack! Cup of tea! Snack!" I have no lc snacks at work today and I've had 2 cups of tea with milk already so I'm trying to ignore myself.

Wombatinabathhat · 20/10/2015 16:58

Congratulations DrSayyra Thanks
Hunt I have lo carbed for 3 years on/off and if I eat even 1 sweet thing - I instantly want more and spiral out of control. My advice is avoid the cake if you can.

I weighed yesterday and have lost 6lbs in week one. I am thrilled. This is the first bc that I have actually lost my appetite, but I'm still eating.lots

B: roasted spare ribs (leftovers) with mayo dip
L: chicken and veg curry
D: shepherd's pie with swede/carrot mash

No snacks but 2 decaf coffee with cream.

Well done everyone Thanks

DrSayrraT · 20/10/2015 17:45

How wonderful my best friend at work is, she gave me a small bottle of cava and some CoYo as my congratulations gift Grin

StoneFoxMama · 20/10/2015 18:19

Well done DrSayyra!

I did bc lite today as had a friend over for lunch and really needed to try out a recipe. Will be back on bc tomorrow but figured one day on lite is ok if I've only got 5 (stubborn)lbs to lose. Still hit 20g (5%) carbs, 80% fat, 15% protein.

Soya double cream latte

Roasted vine tomato, brie, parmesan and rosemary tart made with ground almond rosemary pastry & sesame seed salad with roasted tomato juice and olive oil dressing.

Leftover tart for supper, it was too good.

AStoneBeforeChristmas · 20/10/2015 19:08

Dr!! Wow!

regenerationfez · 20/10/2015 19:19

Congratulations DrSayrra! I was wondering if I had missed it when you said you had completed your Viva, then saw your name!

I've been a bit on and off today. I've done well on all my main meals, but was in a very long meeting with tons of tea,and have ended up drinking about 50 cups of tea in various guises, with milk. I only have a bit of milk in my tea, but it all adds up! I have lots of meetings in cafes this week, so hopefully I can restrain myself and have herbal tea or they have a milk alternative in there. I'm having pork stroganoff today- leftover roast pork, shallots and mushrooms fried in butter with creme fraiche and double cream and mustard. Im having it with cauliflower rice.

LexLoofah · 20/10/2015 20:02

B - shrooms in butter, scr eggs, bit of avo, cuppa, creamy coffee
L - sirloin steak with garlic butter, lettuce with mayo, avo - drool!
D - not hungry, going to have some cheddar spread with butter and a dill pickle

readyforno2 · 20/10/2015 20:08

B mushrooms fried in butter
L cauliflower and broccoli soup with crispy bacon and double cream
D lc sausages x2 crushed Brussel sprouts with double cream (slightly higher in carb than I first thought but not too bad)

Too many cups of tea with cream but I was stuck in the office all morning.
At least 2 l water

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 20/10/2015 20:26

Angry bloody DH never follows instructions! In car on the way home we started wondering if we could make liw-carb custard. I looked it up and it was basically milk, cream, egg and sugar. I thought if we used all cream and egg plus vanilla extract it might work. DH went into the shop while I fed DS in the car. He then made the custard. He put in lots of milk, a teaspoon of icing sugar and the vanilla extract has sugar in it. I only discovered this after eating it. FFS! I was trying so hard to stick to Bootcamp. (And yes, I know I could have made it myself but DH usually cooks dinner and I thought he'd understood the lc rules)

thisisgettingridiculous · 20/10/2015 20:53

I walked 3 miles today.

ff greek yog for breakfast, 3 boiled eggs and 200g emmenthal for lunch (I know, it was a hideous amount to eat but I was very hungry!)

Dinner was half a pot of hummus. I know it is not allowed but it was the only thing I could stomach.

will have pickled onions and pickled beetroot later for my supper.

feel so much slimmer although I am still 4 stone overweight, lol!

set myself a goal of losing 16kg by my work christmas lunch which is 18 dec. Very ambitious but I have high hopes.

BestIsWest · 20/10/2015 21:36

Had the plaster off my arm today so there's another pound gone Grin.

B - eggs w butter
L - tapas pack from waitrose, olives, cubes of cheese and chorizo.
D - Lime and chilli chicken, cabbage fried with butter and a few cubes of pancetta. Greek yoghurt.

weegierama · 20/10/2015 22:18

Well done all. I'm not weighing nutcase pleased with my dinner tonight so will share. It was just yesterday's leftover beef stew but was given a new twist by some chunky celeriac chips That were sprinkled with hot smoked paprika. They were great!

Billionnairewannabe · 20/10/2015 22:41

B pancetta,cheese,egg muffin in a cup
L chicken drumsticks with skin (I hate skin) and said with olive oil
D minute steak, mushrooms in cream sauce, and aubergines fried in butter.
Made it to aerobics class! Then add a bit of FF Greek yoghurt after.

Drank an extra 1L of water due to gym, and putting salt on food.

StuntNun · 20/10/2015 22:48

HuntThePigsEar when I have something particularly carby then I will be extra hungry the next day but it's the day after that that I get carb cravings. If it's a planned event such as a birthday then decide in advance to have e.g. one small piece of birthday cake and you should be fine. It's when you get carried away and the carbs lead on to more carbs that you risk derailing yourself completely.

Huntthepigsear · 20/10/2015 22:56

Thanks everyone who has replied to my query. I think it's as I feared, carbs or sugar are likely to make me crave more. I think I'll just have to try and avoid as much as possible. Probably can get out of cake for DS14 and DH's birthday, but I think DS7 won't understand if I don't have any of his, so I might have a tiny bit of it.

Had a good day.
B - had prosciutto, cheese and green salad. I was worried it wouldn't feel breakfast-y enough, or wouldn't be filling enough, but it tasted good and kept me full till lunchtime.
L - left over chicken stir fry
D - hm tuna fish cakes with fried cabbage and buttered asparagus, oh, and a big dollop of mayonnaise. Lovely dinner, will definitely be making the fish cakes again. I couldn't eat both fish cakes as I was too full, so DH had to help out!

CalmYoBadSelf · 20/10/2015 23:00

Quite good again which is still surprising me knowing my normal diet success Grin

B: Bacon, half a lc sausage, creamy scrambled eggs
L: Cold meat (chicken and lamb) and a spoonful of mayo (was busy and no time to stop)

T: Meatballs, oven roast veg and tomato sauce with Slim Pasta

Only balls-up was half a pack of pecan nuts which I ate after dinner, not bootcamp but not a real disaster either

anothernumberone · 20/10/2015 23:05

1lb off this week it was a bit of a disaster as there was a long planned weekend away so not an ideal start but from here on out.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 21/10/2015 10:02

I really wish there was a non-pig based alternative to bacon and pork scratchings!

Anyway.

Breakfast: slice of cheese (I'm still really really bad at having breakfast, and normally don't)
L: fried halloumi with the last of the home-made tzatziki, will need to make more tomorrow. The 3yo also robs me of around 10% of the halloumi I fry, he loves it! And watermelon. Which, despite being fruit, is low in carbs.
D: GF sausages (all Aussie sausages are GF) with beans and carrots (still too high in carbs, I know)

I'm really hanging for something for dessert but haven't anything appropriate apart from double cream so tough nuts for me.
