Morning all!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your delectation.

It sounds like there might be some good results, and I'm looking forward to hearing those.

OP posts:
mb182 · 24/10/2015 17:01

Hope I can join in at this late stage. I am 18 stone 10 and am now starting to suffer health problems as a result. I know the low carb approach works as I lost 4 stone in 5 months a few years ago and my energy levels improved significantly. What I couldn't accept at the time is that it's not the sort of diet I can dip in and out of -as soon as I had a break, I got caught up with carb cravings again and it all went to pot. That was about 4 years ago and I'm now 1/2 a stone more than my starting weight then.

CharlieSierra · 24/10/2015 19:13

I'm feeling a bit rubbish today, really lightheaded, hoping it's because I'm properly getting into it now and it will pass soon.

B - bacon & avocado
L - a few pork scratchings, a marmite cheese, 3 ricotta muffins
D - fillet steak, leeks in butter, mushrooms

Billionnairewannabe · 24/10/2015 20:09

Hope all ok now Hunt - what a nightmare for you.

B - 1/2 Coyo
L - 2 D&A 97% sausages with hm coleslaw (delicious)
D - hm (made-up!) chilli beef stir fry (beef, shallots, green beans, cabbage, chili & coriander)
1/2 Ff Greek yoghurt

Nearly done my 3L of water.
Have a good weekend everyone (waves to BIWI in paradise).

yongnian · 24/10/2015 20:32

Belatedly checking back in...house of sickness here...food been going ok and I've lost 2lb which am v pleased about. Have now succumbed to the household lurg...so no appetite...hardly worth posting today's. Drank even more water than usual as feeling so crap.
So fingers crossed for a good result on mon.
KOKO to all.

regenerationfez · 24/10/2015 21:23

Checking in. I listened to some advice I think on the questions thread and took a day off today to regroup.I had some cake and chocolate at a kiuds party. It wasn't that great and my stomach felt as if I'd eaten about 5 spoons of sugar, so I think I'm going to restart. I'm also very impressed that I sat at the party and easily resisted the cake and chocolate. I had to remind myself I was giving the lc a rest, then had one chocolate and a bite of cake instead of what I would normally have had. The best thing is knowing that all these years I thought I had no self control and suddenly I do Smile
Br: smoked Mackerel, coffee with almond milk
lu: sausages with lettuce and tomatoes
d: stir fry veg with prawns and soy sauce.
snacks: (apart from bite of cake and 2 celebrations chocolates) Americano with coconut milk

Thanks for the good wishes. DH has ruptured his quadriceps tendon, so will be having an operation to reattach it tomorrow. Was in and out of the hospital all day.
Had breakfast/ lunch at 3pm! No food before then, but, tbh I wasn't that hungry. Had scrambled egg and bacon which went down well. Then had left over beef burger with stir fry veg for dinner. Slightly unusual combination, but tasted good.
I'll be back at the hospital for 7.30am tomorrow, glad the clocks are going back, so need to eat quickly before I go. I reckon if I can keep LCing on a day like today, then I can do it any day.

Hope you're having a good holiday BIWI, not jealous at all yeah, right. Sounds like we might need to shake a big stick at you when you come back. Grin

Huntthepigsear · 24/10/2015 21:29

yongnian hope you are all better soon. Thanks
Regeneration interesting how a sweet tooth can be changed, I would never have believed it before.

LexLoofah · 24/10/2015 22:20

hunt bravo on sticking with it, hope op goes OK for your DH

I had a minor slip up today, had a (singular) gummy sweet thing, drove 3.5 hours with DCs and was bored and thirsty more than anything.

Now at my lovely D sisters, perusing her new LCHF cookbooks as she is making the switch so food here should be suitable and no funny looks about how much butter I eat!

RomiiRoo · 25/10/2015 03:44

mbt182, I joined a BC thread last October mid-way through and haven't looked back. Carbs make me balloon, plus I am allergic to wheat and associated grains. So, definitely worth joiningSmile, welcome!

Workload means I am not really keeping up with the thread, but I wanted to say I made celeriac chips yesterday - seriously yummy! I bought Annie Dell's Low Carb revolution which is more BCL, but good for veg recipes.

Huntthepigsear · 25/10/2015 10:08

Back at the hospital, whilst DH has his op. Had coffee with cream and coconut oil before I left home at 7am. Brought baby bells with me, which I've had with a Costa americano.
Might end up skipping lunch, but will ensure I have a good dinner.
KOKO everyone (now I know what it means Grin).

Gcalgske · 25/10/2015 10:17

Had bacon, egg, big mushroom stuffed with green pepper, chicken and fried button mushrooms.

glenthebattleostrich · 25/10/2015 12:28

Hope your DH's op goes well Hunt and feel better soon yongnian.

It is interesting how tastes change on this way of eating. We were visiting family and my mother is a feeder. Dad went out and bought some ham and cheeses for DH and I but Mum insisted on trying to force crisps and biscuits onto us. Just didn't fancy them so it was easy to say no. A few months ago, I would have easily eaten half a packet of hob nobs and a bag of crisps then had a sandwich for lunch!

Yesterdays food was -

usual breakfast of yogurt and tea.
Ham and cheese salad for lunch
picky tea, with Spanish meats, salads (no dressing). No desert either, MIL did complain about being left with bakewell tarts but we did tell her not to buy them!

I even took my own packet of chai tea and little pot of cream with me, didn't drink enough water though.

A better day today - usual breakfast, ham, cheese and cucumber for lunch. We are having a couple of amazing steaks for tea, with garlic mushrooms and green beans. We get our meat at a local farm shop and they do grass fed beef which tastes incredible, huge amount of fat on it. Can you tell I'm excited about them?!

regenerationfez · 25/10/2015 15:40

Hope the OP went OKhunt.

Well today II've had
b: 2 smoked mackerel fillets (I know they are BC lite but I bought them before looking and then needed to eat them as nobody else likes them!
L Cheese and salami omelette with lettuce and avocado drizzled with bextra virgin olive oil
D: Chicken thighs with something I haven't thought of yet Smile

I'm away for the week, but we areonly in a cottage so I bought loads of lc stuff for the week. Was going to carry on with BC but might go onto lite so I can have the occasional glass of red wine.

Gcalgske · 25/10/2015 16:11

Good luck hunt and family, hope op goes well!

Gcalgske · 25/10/2015 16:14

Why is smoked mackerel BC lite? I must have missed that. Oops!

Today:
B: creamy coffee
L: roasted porky belly, cucumber
D: pork sausages, mashed swede, leek and mushroom gravy.

regenerationfez · 25/10/2015 20:22

Oh maybe it's not. I thought because it was processed? I had chicken in a cream and mushroom sauce. I think the only carby thing I had were the carrots with it. I also had a glass of red wine and 2 Squares of dark chocolate because the kids were winding me upAngry

LexLoofah · 25/10/2015 20:33

glen grass fed steaks are super, hope you enjoyed them

B smoked salmon,, buttery scr eggs
L cheese and bacon burger minus the bun , salad and mayo instead of chips
D lovely hm low carb Cracker bread with butter, salami, pastrami, pate, cheese, a tomato

Sq dark choc

Gcalgske · 25/10/2015 20:39

Recipe Lex?? Crackers drool butter and Stilton just don't taste the same without one....

Billionnairewannabe · 25/10/2015 22:38

Well done Regen for getting back into it! Hope the op went well Hunt.

Lovely typical Sunday here
B - boiled egg with butter, bacon & tomato.
L - 1 lc sausage with hm coleslaw
D - roast pork, roast veg (aubergine, turnip, small carrot) DELICIOUS hm cauliflower cheese, oxo gravy. Felt absolutely stuffed!

Probably not quite 3l water...still drinking!
Do we start BC lite tomorrow? How do we know if we are "adapted" (and what does it mean?)??

NoPieInPumpkin · 26/10/2015 01:13

Morning all,

A very early start for me today even allowing for the fact I am in a different time zone! I've weighed this morning and have STS, which I had expected as it's TOM. I wasn't feeling well at all yesterday and made some silly food choices that I probably wouldn't have done if I was feeling 100%.

Never mind, onwards and upwards! How many weeks until Christmas???

Hope everyone else gets better results!

Huntthepigsear · 26/10/2015 07:23

Morning all, I think we are still posting on this thread at the moment, I can't find a week 3 thread yet? Didn't post last night as I was too knackered. MrPigsear had his operation yesterday morning and is now on the mend, literally. He was dosed up on morphine and too sore to come home yesterday, but we are very hopeful he will get home today. My eating was a bit hit and miss because of the hospital trips again and I succumbed to the pistachios. As that is my only infraction in 2 weeks, I hope im safe from BIWI's big stick. Grin
So had:
B - coffee with cream and coconut oil, 3 babybels
L - left over beef burger stir fry
D - shop bought pate with cucumber, celery and olives
S - salted pistachios, small piece of Brie

I did lose 2.2lbs this week, but I think it's partly due to my hit and miss food this weekend. I suspect I may stay the same this coming week.
Not sure about today's food. Having a coffee with cream now, if I feel up to it may have bacon, scrambled eggs and mushrooms for breakfast as I may miss lunch again as that's hopefully when I will be attempting to get DH into the car!

Hope everyone else has had a good week.

SayrraT · 26/10/2015 07:41

Link to week 3

regenerationfez · 26/10/2015 10:01

Hi I can't access spaghetti due to being away but had a weigh. I think my lap possess have cost me, as I have only lost a lb this week. A bit annoyed but I'm gong to try my best over half term and then get back to it properly. I still don't feel like any carbs and my appetite is reduced so it should be ok Smile

regenerationfez · 26/10/2015 10:01

That should have said lapses!

Gcalgske · 26/10/2015 16:48

regenerationfez your keyboard appears to have carbs on the brain can't access spaghettiGrin
