Week 1 - Pre-Christmas Low Carb Bootcamp - Are you ready?!

Evening all!

I'm starting the chat thread a little early, because I have to be at work at sparrow's fart tomorrow.

So here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness, created and curated by the very lovely SayrraT

You don't have to add your weight - but you can also be on the spreadsheet without entering your actual weight. If you want, you can index it - which means that you start at 100. For every pound that you lose, lose a point. So if you lose 4lbs in week one, then you'll start week 2 at 96.

Have a good look at the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet, as there is all sorts of really important information there - not least of which is Bootcamp rules.

If you haven't done Bootcamp before, I'd suggest that you print off the rules and stick them somewhere that you'll see them regularly. In addition, I'd also suggest that you print off the list of vegetables and their carb counts.

If you have any particular questions, the questions thread is here - it's often the case that the chat thread moves so quickly in the early weeks that questions can easily get missed.

And don't forget the recipe thread! There are loads of lovely recipes on here - the thread is almost full, but there's still room for any more low carb recipes you might want to add.

Above all, good luck to you all. Bootcamp is designed to be simple and straightforward, but it isn't easy. If you have any problems, or think things aren't working, please come and chat about it here.

That's an impressive loss in 5 days, well done, and congrats to billionaire too!

fluffywol · 19/10/2015 10:29

Half a pound off, which, considering my crap week, is better than I expected and I'm perfectly happy with it.

regenerationfez · 19/10/2015 12:13

I have 3 1/2 lb off, which I'm very pleased with! I've had a few 'one won't hurt' moments and a blowout on Friday so v. pleased! I'm going to be more determined on the water front this week. I have filled my 500ml bottle twice this morning and had a herbal tea, so I'll aim for 2 more n the Afternoon and 2 more n the evening!

whitershadeofpale · 19/10/2015 12:20

2 lbs off which I'm happy with, I'd been LCing for a while so didn't expect massive losses.

Hilda - I've only just started as well thanks to Birthday cake last week, so it will be fine for you to join in, I'm sure! I've just put my starting weight this week in for both week 1 and week 2, to keep the spreadsheet sane.

Maryz - oh no to the unthinking Chinese takeaway! sort of thing I'd do too Blush

Palomb · 19/10/2015 19:08

12st 2 this morning from 12 stone 13.5 but that's in 2 weeks as I started a week earlier. I was 14stone 4 just after Christmas and have lost bits and fell off the wagon several times but over all it's been a downward trend. I'm hoping to be 11stone 8 by the beginning of December .

I've felt absolutely dreadful all day and work has been such a massive chore :( I think the blood on my veins is 90% tea.

We just had fried chicken made with coconut flour. It was pretty disgusting.

thisisgettingridiculous · 19/10/2015 19:58

Is anyone else feeling horribly depressed?

I really am. I suffered depression years ago and I have been having the same feelings since low carbing.

I have this theory that all those nights when I ate chocolate and crisps to stave off the bad feelings that resulted in me gaining so much weight, now my body is burning it off and the bad feelings are all pouring out.

could also be the lack of sugar I suppose.

I am horribly miserable tonight. I just know chocolate would give me that instant mood bòost

ShebaQueen · 19/10/2015 21:28

Sorry to hear that some of you are struggling. I'm 1lb down which I'm happy with as I have been low carbing since April.

thisisgetting I did feel quite low when I first starting this woe and I've not previously suffered from depression, however I found that my mood evened out after the first couple of weeks, you might be right that it's linked to weaning off sugar.

Off to update the spreadsheet

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 19/10/2015 22:56

thisis, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope it passes quickly. I'm no expert, but maybe it is the sugar withdrawal - and have you cut down on caffeine as well? Maybe if you still feel really low in a week's time it might be worth going to your GP?

Patapouf · 20/10/2015 11:58

Just back from Paris and lots of pastry Blush happily cracking on with BC.

Tuna mayo and itsu seaweed thins for lunch, maybe a bit of lettuce/cucumber too.
Dinner is salmon with spinach and buttered swede

AStoneBeforeChristmas · 20/10/2015 12:51

Just had mushroom soup for lunch (fried mushrooms in butter, added water, salt and pepper, whizzed up and added a sprinkle of blue cheese and a swirl of cream) and it was delicious! And there's enough left for later.

Hi everyone,

So i'm new here and thought i would join you all on this boot camp, so i have 2 kids 9 and 1 after my youngest i have put on so much weight, i am so miserable with the way i look, totally no confidence in anything i wear, feel so frumpy, i really need to lose at least 4st i have been on diets before but i have found it hard to stick to them so i thought having all you for support will give me the boost i need. My boyfriend is supportive and really wants me to lose weight as well because well lets be honest having a girl with 0 confidence is so unattractive and i feel he may not fancy me now but then he does show affection etc so could be me just being para lol so good luck to all who is doing this also :)

Huntthepigsear · 20/10/2015 20:27
