Morning all!

Here, for the last time this Bootcamp is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Hopefully the scales will be kind to you for our last weigh-in!

For those of you that are still here - even you lurking at the back! - it would be great to hear how much you've lost this Bootcamp.

And also, we'll keep this thread going for chat - when it fills up I'll start another general low carb chat thread.

Well I think it is going to be about 8+ yrs before things settle properly ds is hitting teenagedom and hormones and can't do anything about the building work etc but frame of mind, frame of mind is my to take control of Grin no such thing as the perfect time right.

BIWI · 31/08/2015 18:42

Indeed. It's a form of sabotage/displacement activity trying to wait for 'the right time'

Thank you for your kind welcome, BIWI. I have done the shop ready to start and am raring to go.

Best wishes for the bank hol to bootcampers old and new Flowers

BIWI · 31/08/2015 18:50

I'm eking out the bank holiday weekend for all it's worth! It was my birthday yesterday, so I've been eating all manner of stuff I shouldn't. But on top of a manic couple of weeks where I've been away from home a lot, and so food choices haven't been brilliant, I am going to have to face the music and get back on the wagon firmly tomorrow!!!

Hi all, just checking in. I've had a shitty month and I've got 6 new lbs to show for it Angry. Lots of self sabotage and weak will power but I've rid the kitchen of everything carby and have done a good LCHF food shop to kickstart BC again. I desperately want to lose at least half a stone before the next BC so that I don't start heavier than the final weigh in.

Belated happy birthday BIWI Flowers

StoneFoxMama · 01/09/2015 11:03

Happy belated birthday BIWI.

Back from France and pretty happy with keeping lc on the whole. Broke the diet for local things that I can't get in England like Kouign-Amann, religieuse, pain au chocolat and french bread with breton butter and local honey. I allowed myself 1 of each on one occasion spread over the 3 weeks and am very pleased I didn't go into a feeding frenzy and went back to lc after each 'treat'. This is massive for me, I'll probably gain from allowing myself to have them, but the fact that I'm totally on track again is very unlike me.

Did well with wine too, as I'm ttc couldn't guzzle so drank like the French who are way more reserved in their alcohol consumption. Bloody enjoyed every sip though!

whitershadeofpale · 01/09/2015 15:43

I have some coconut oil coming in my online shop but apart from trying bulletproof coffee (is it nice?) I'm not sure what to do with it. Any suggestions?

whitershadeofpale · 01/09/2015 18:28

Inspired by bulletproof coffee and QuietLikely's cocoa and cream combo. I made a nice drink by mixing a tsp of cocoa with boiling water, a dash of double cream and a tsp of hazelnut butter and mixed it in the blender.

It tasted like a less sweet fererro rocher. Nice for if you have an occasional choc craving, I don't have a massive sweet tooth so it's the type of thing I'd have once a month or so.

RomiiRoo · 01/09/2015 20:25

whiter, I pretty much use coconut oil for any frying now. I did BPC for a while (lovely) but out the habit.

The hot choc combo sounds lovely. My sweet tooth has gone but an occasional treat goes down well.

ShebaQueen · 01/09/2015 22:01

Hello everyone, good to see you all. I'm just checking in.

As per my plan I've been maintaining throughout the summer holidays on bootcamp lite, even coped with 2 weeks in an all inclusive hotel without putting on any weight! I'm scared to say it out loud but I really feel I have my carb bingeing under control, my willpower seems so much stronger.

Thanks for the continuing motivation, I'm back on bootcamp now, aiming to start losing again, I still have a stone and a half to lose to reach my target weight, hopefully by Christmas.

Hope you had a lovely birthday BIWI!

LexLoofah · 02/09/2015 08:51

Cooee! I am back from our 2.5 week tour de UK, relaxed a bit as life too short and enjoyed it but happy to drag my arse back on the wagon from today, scales show little damage done, must have been offset by all the hiking we did or it hasn't hit yet....

Belated happy b day BIWI

timeou · 02/09/2015 09:28

Day three in the low carb house and today I feel like a house! So bloated! No movement on the scales yet. Hope I drop a bit soon! Could it be water retention?

whitershadeofpale · 02/09/2015 18:15

All going well here. No breakfast today (I got up late), prawn cocktail salad for lunch and a coffee with cream mid afternoon.

Dinner will be burgers on top of a portabello mushroom with swiss cheese. I'll have salad with it but might also try making celeriac chips.

QuiteLikely5 · 02/09/2015 19:01

Did anyone lose their appetite on this? My appetite has been zero for the last few days. I have to force myself to eat and then I can't finish my plate..........

BIWI · 03/09/2015 07:11

timeou if you're bloated then you need more water. Don't forget though that you also need to keep your electrolyte levels up - sodium, magnesium and potassium. Sodium is particularly key - cook with it and add to your food. For the rest, eat salmon, avocado, spinach and natural full fat yoghurt

QuiteLikely Yes! It's one of the key benefits of low carbing - and it's a really good sign that you have your blood sugar (and therefore your hormone levels) stable.

Thanks Biwi, even though I've been doing this WOE loosely for months I seem to have forgotten the basic rules and have been slipping hence the weight gain.

Ive been snacking on Pork Scratchings - do I need to watch these or can they be eaten freely?

Also, I tend to eat a lot of veg, swede, cabbage and sometimes some green beans - I know I need to watch these but how much is too much?

BIWI · 03/09/2015 13:27

Pork scratchings should be fine as they're just skin/fat - but if you're buying processed ones as opposed to making your, check what other ingredients are used

Re the veg, look at the carb counter and work out how many carbs you think you're eating - in the first two weeks of Bootcamp whilst there isn't a daily target, you should probably aim to keep your daily carbs under 50g as much as possible.

Kippers for breakfast, smell has just about gone now...

Slow cooker leftover lamb curry for tea w cauliflower rice, forgot how good that is

lisbapalea · 07/09/2015 11:14

Hello all!

I am back after a week away on holiday which was largely a carb fest - stayed self catering with two other families so very tricky to enforce low carb rules when it was all very communal. Plus it was a holiday so I won't beat myself up too much!

But today I am rejoining the wagon with bells on - I will be bootcamping light throughout September, being super strict if and when I can, but in the knowledge I will be really hardcore when the proper BC thread starts in October. I didn't weigh myself today but will next Monday.

So, today's food is / will be:

B - ff greek with some strawbs, coffee
Snack - small handful of almonds
L - not sure yet, something involving salad and boiled eggs I think
D - sausage pasta sauce from the freezer, over buttered cabbage

LOTS of water - that is something that i have really noticed I have failed to do, so I am determined to flood myself with the stuff this week.

My goal is to get to 11.5 stone (or less?!) by the end of this year - no idea how feasible that is, but last time I weighed I was 12.5st so hopefully I can do it. I started the year at 14st on the nose.

MontserratCaballe · 07/09/2015 11:21

Holidays are meant to have a few treats, Lisba. You are back on it now.

Difficult first few days, but am back on it properly now. I might need the big stick though if I stray again. So far, I have had 3 eggs with butter and about 1l of water. Am out 2 evenings though so will need to be careful.

Hope you all have a good day.

BettyBigBalls · 07/09/2015 13:21

Back on the wagon after holiday carbby twatness and daily white wine... Today has been fueled by BPC and cauliflower cheese soup. courgettti bol for tea.

All my clothes are feeling tight, really not good...

Also, there was an amazing pizza base (i think) recipe, not a cauli one though, i can't seem to find it, does it ring a bell for anyone?

lisbapalea · 07/09/2015 13:54

Yep, that's the fathead pizza one - cream cheese, mozzarella and ground almonds melted in the microwave if I remember correctly!

lisbapalea · 07/09/2015 13:55

this is the one I made I think:

iamaboveandBeyond · 07/09/2015 14:43

I love ditchthecarbs, been having their granola for breakfast :)

whitershadeofpale · 07/09/2015 18:02

I'm going out for a friend's birthday next week, I know it won't perfect but what would be a good choice from here www.bodeansbbq.com/site/public/img/Menus_pdf/tower_table_menu.pdf ? I was thinking probably a steak, but I always feel a bit bad ordering steak when I know we'll split the bill. It's a meat heavy menu but I worry about the sauces, marinades etc.
