BIWI · 20/07/2015 07:23

Morning all!

Here, for the last time this Bootcamp is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Hopefully the scales will be kind to you for our last weigh-in!

For those of you that are still here - even you lurking at the back! - it would be great to hear how much you've lost this Bootcamp.

And also, we'll keep this thread going for chat - when it fills up I'll start another general low carb chat thread.

Hi is it ok for me to eat 1 tea spoon of bournville cocoa mixed in with double cream no more than twice a week

Please say yeeeeees Smile

whitershadeofpale · 27/08/2015 19:35

Great. It was tasty.

We're having an Indian takeaway tonight, so I'm having a tandoori mixed grill with mushroom bhaji. I might mix a tbs of full fat Greek yogurt with a bit of mint to go with it.

SayrraT · 27/08/2015 19:54

Just saying hello...with my slightly new name Grin

BIWI · 28/08/2015 08:48

QuiteLikely that's OK - but be careful it doesn't get you into doing it more often and increasing the quantities!

Managed to very casually ask the phleb for a thyroid check, and shes done a blood sugar too. So fingers crossed that being on lchf, the blood sugar should be my first normal result in years Grin (though it will be bloody typical if it is up after the shitty week i've had!!)

whitershadeofpale · 28/08/2015 23:43

I'm a bit annoyed tonight. My DB decided at the last minute that he wanted to go out for dinner for his birthday to TGI Friday's, I made what I thought were good choices (spicy chicken wings with blue cheese dressing and a cheeseburger with no bun, salad and a small bit of coleslaw) but everything seemed to have hidden carbs in it. The chicken had obviously been coated with seasoned flour, the coleslaw was so so sweet it must have had hidden sugar (I left most of it) they put bbq sauce on my burger (I scraped as much off as I could). The food wasn't that great either. I would feel better about having had carbs if it was even tasty, instead it just seems a waste Sad. Oh well KOKO.

whitershadeofpale · 29/08/2015 00:37

On a more positive note it's 2 1/2 weeks since I began this WOE and my skin is beautifully clear and softer than it's ever been (usually it's dehydrated with spots) and even though I've got lots of weight to lose I'm sure my cellulite is smoother.

RomiiRoo · 29/08/2015 07:48

Whiter, yes, definitely KOKOSmile. Eating out is always going to be a hazard and you can only do so much - and in this case, I am not sure what else you could have done really, it is a social occasion and you adapted as best you could.
But yes, hidden carbs and hidden sugars - one of the biggest eye-openers for me.

And yay to better skin, it is what often kept me KOKOSmile

BIWI · 29/08/2015 08:46

Once you've switched into this way of eating you really notice how much sugar is added to our food - another reason, of course, why so many people are overweight - they are all eating unnecessary levels of sugar, never mind foods that are naturally high in carbs!

It's a lazy way of producing food. We all like sweet things, so sugar is added to things to make them seem tastier. Why on earth, for example, would you put sugar in coleslaw?!

iamaboveandBeyond · 29/08/2015 08:56

Ah, the "bliss point"

I watched That Sugar Film the other day. Recommend it to anyone who hasnt seen it :)

NigellasGuest · 30/08/2015 15:25

May I join you all again?

I have a stone to lose. I always seem to have a stone to lose!

I am on Day 4 of Bootcamp and feel bloated, headachey and fat. I don't remember feeling bloated when I've done this in the past - could it be gas from fizzy water? I used to just drink still water but I've developed a taste for sparkling.

BIWI · 30/08/2015 16:02

Possibly - depends on how much you're drinking I guess! Although you know the cure for bloatedness is to drink more water?!

Oh, and welcome back!

OP posts:
timeou · 31/08/2015 08:09

Do you mind If I drop in too please. Did this WOE and lost 2.5 stone 18 months ago. Have kept it off by largely being low carb and maintained since but went on holiday to the USA in July and OMG the sugar / carbs hit for two weeks seems to have reset something in my brain! I gained 4lbs on holiday but this has gone up to 7lbs since I got home as my sweet tooth has gone crazy!

Today I NEED to start back as I'm finding my clothes tight and am determined not to go back the way I was.

Is there another bootcamp due please?

BIWI · 31/08/2015 08:37

Hello!

Yes there will be, but not until October. But this is the place to chat about all things low carb until then!

OP posts:
timeou · 31/08/2015 08:51

Thanks for the welcome. I'll start back on the wagon today anyway and will use this board to try and keep me on the straight and narrow :)

BIWI · 31/08/2015 08:58

Good luck!

NigellasGuest · 31/08/2015 11:00

Thank you for the welcome back BIWI!

I'm feeling loads better today. Also I've lost a couple of lbs - not bad considering I started my own little bootcamp on Thursday.
timou hello I 'm roughly at the same stage as you are, looking forward to October boot camp but doing it myself in the meantime!

RomiiRoo · 31/08/2015 13:32

beyond - do you mean the Jamie Oliver programme, or is there another film? I would like to see it.

hello to Nigellasguest and timeou - this thread is invaluable for keeping on the straight and narrow Smile.

All good here - I realised I have been forgetting my vitamins for a while (how did that happen? probably being away on holiday) and am back with the Vitamin D and magnesium, among with things and already feel better. A couple of lunches eating out over the weekend, chose low carb options and scales STS this morning, so all good here. Aside from a (male) colleague telling me I looked 'pinched' - seriously, AIBU or is that just rude? I am loving my weight/body at the moment and that has been a long time coming Grin.

MontserratCaballe · 31/08/2015 14:39

Hello everyone

I hope it is OK for me to come back. I have been on several bootcamps and at my lowest was about 2.5 st down from my current weight. Regrettably, carb creep and too much booze has done for me and I am now a porker again. I have flirted with other diets but can't fast, don't want to eat a load of chemicals, can't bear WW and their fake foods and SO love the food on this WOE. I appreciate that there is no BC until October but I am planning on getting cracking again on Thursday once the schools go back, so I hope it is OK to dive back in Smile

I recognise many of the names from way back when. It'll be nice to chat to you all again.

BIWI · 31/08/2015 17:04

Welcome back!

whitershadeofpale · 31/08/2015 18:08

Just checking in to keep track. I brought scales last week after I'd already been doing this WOE for 2 1/2 weeks (I could feel I'd lost in that time, especially around my waist). I was a bit nervous about weighing myself this week as I know that many people slow down or stall on week 3/4.

I've actually lost 3lbs this week Grin even after the TGI debacle.

Feeling really good and struggling to remember that I actually was only hoping not to put weight on since I'm still pretty immobile.

I've just done an online shop and trying to make sure I have lots of good, quick and easy choices as if not that's when I'd usually reach for toast or some cereal.

CantSee4Looking · 31/08/2015 18:21

Just a quick question, am I correct in assuming that the next official bootcamp is the little black dress bootcamp which runs in the run up to christmas? or has the stress of bootcamp finally got to poor BIWI and she is going on strike Gin

BIWI · 31/08/2015 18:23
Grin

Yes, the next one will be the LBD one. Will start around October.

OP posts:
CantSee4Looking · 31/08/2015 18:27

Thanks BIWI, you have previously helped me and I have had great benefits from bootcamp until my world decided to explode beneath me. World is still in utter chaos but frame of mind is there and health requires some ass hauling onto the wagon.

BIWI · 31/08/2015 18:28

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can regroup and get on top of things again soon. Post here if you need to, until we start again in October. Flowers
