Morning all - lovely sunny day here!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your confessions

It sounds like some of us have been struggling recently, so I hope that the scales have been kind to you this morning.

If the scales aren't your friend, then don't forget to take your measurements, or to try on that dress/those jeans that were too tight 5 weeks ago - the results here are more meaningful than the scales anyway.

I put some new trousers on yesterday that I bought a couple of weeks ago, and find that they are now too big. Which is both pleasing and annoying at the same time Grin

winecheesesleep I sympathise - I have put on 2 pounds in the 3 weeks I have been doing BC and lurking on these threads and feel pretty desperate myself. I've eaten veg till it's coming out of my ears, spent hours in the kitchen making all homemade meals so I know there's no carbs, making things like oopsie rolls and spinach 'bread', even had BPC when coconut oil makes me gag.

But I'll carry on for another week, up the water (must admit I've been a bit lax on that one) and keep enjoying the admittedly lovely food. If the fatburning hasn't kicked in by this time next week, well I don't really know, probably go back to 5:2.

PeppermintFrog · 08/06/2015 11:36

Give it more time ladies!! Think about how long you've been wanting to shed this weight. For me it's 10 years quite a long time. Will another 5 weeks make any difference? And it might just work if you KOKO within the rules. Watch that video Buttermakesyourpantsfalloff on YouTube - it makes so much sense.

Hangonaminutewillyou · 08/06/2015 12:23

I am down 1 lb but as I said in last week's thread I have been weighing daily and the fluctuations are usually in the region of 2lb so I won't take this to mean much unless it keeps going down every week.

For anyone disheartened by lack of movement on the scales don't forget what the wise BIWI has said...take measurements too. I have been doing that and have been surprised by how much I've lost off my waist so far (to the extent that I'm wondering if I got my first measurement wrong!) - even if the scales don't move in the right direction! Also, don't you think you feel better anyway? I know I do regardless of what the scales say. Come on ladies, you can do this! Don't talk yourselves out of it and let the carbs slip in...that definitely won't help.

I'm thinking about trying to get some exercise back into my life...has anyone got the Davina 7 minute DVD? I barely get time to myself so I'm wondering if this might be the one for me. Anyone tried it?

DramaAlpaca · 08/06/2015 12:39

Bah! 2lb on Sad. In my defence I've had a rubbish week and probably celebrated too hard on my birthday. Off on holiday for a week as of this evening, so goodness only knows how I'm going to stay on track. I'll try.

TheCowThatLaughs · 08/06/2015 12:39

I'm going to measure myself as soon as I get in from work, Hangon. Good idea. Think I fell off the wagon when the scales went up and I was disheartened. I've apparently put on 9.5lb in 2 weeks Shock
It's just before my period,
but still!
Well done everyone else Smile

Username12345 · 08/06/2015 12:39

Does period affect your weight? Scales say I lost a lb but I feel like I might have stayed the same.

I had a bad week. 2 days I was in a situation with no access to BC foods for dinner. But got straight back into it after.

I feel like I'm doing better this BC. Last BC I did LC as quick as I could and was craving carbs somewhat terrible and counting down the weeks until it was over, but this time I've stayed on BC and can't believe we're halfway in already.

Congrats to the losers. Stay strong everyone Flowers

diggerdigsdogs · 08/06/2015 12:46

Ugh gain here too.

Tired on 3 hours sleep as tiny dd3 has a cold so was feeding and crying all night. Survived a 3pm sugar crash with espresso, almond milk, cream and vanilla powder. I had a cuppa first and had to fiercely fight a sugar craving because afternoon tea obvs = carby twattery. The coffee hit the spot however. Tomorrow I'm going to try almond milk in the frother to make a cappuccino.

B: yog, cream, berries, coconut oil in blender. Halved the amount of yogurt and doubled the cream.
L: sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, salami
D: no idea how to describe it! Leeks, mushroom, chorizo, sour cream, chicken, 1 tin of 3g per 100g tomato, cheese plus cauli rice. It was kind of like a chunky one pan pasta sauce but without the pasta.

3g per 100g tinned tomato is ok right?

Hangonaminutewillyou · 08/06/2015 12:46

Blessed sounds like we have similar DHs!! Frustrating to deal with!

Lisba well done you! It's inspiring to hear about how well it's going for you. Smile

trashcanjunkie · 08/06/2015 13:14

I haven't weighed today as had a joiner first thing to do the floors. He's gone now, but I've eaten and drunk so will see what tomorrow brings.

crabby darling, don't give up hope - try and channel your inner scientist and 'tweak' your experiment. I think it's really important you stick at this last half of bc if for no other reason than to see the challenge through to the end. You can totally reasses at the end, and the same goes to the others feeling like this.

I'm really struggling, having seen good sustained losses before I went away for the weekend (not last weekend, the one before) and basically had a week off, eating tons of crap. Since then I've lost a big chunk of what I'd gained pretty immediately, only to see it plop back on for no good reason. My feet are ridiculously swollen and I'm teary so have vainly hoped it's hormones, but God almighty it's hard to stay positive, and I forever have the feeling that I'm just right at the beginning or back to square one and I've been doing this for a year and a half now!

Things I have now started to do.

Taking vitamins.
Having bullet proof drinks two or three times daily. Before meals. This seems to help with feeling full and therefore not over eating.

I've bought some raspberry ketones and aloe Vera colon cleanse. I hasten to point out I do not believe my colon requires cleansing, but the ingredients in the two things come anecdotally recommended so I'm prepared to try them and see if there's any truth. Plus the ingredients are herbal with bit of caffeine so I will see.

Staying off dairy. It's less hard now. I bought some alpro soya yoghurt and sugar free jelly yesterday (another reason I suspect hormones) they tasted very odd. Jelly was chemical flavoured, but ok. Alpro soya yoghurt was very watery. I may use it in cooking, but not really impressed. Also slightly bloated of tummy today, but ate pickles yesterday, which may be the reason.....

BIWI · 08/06/2015 13:38

I'm sorry to hear that some of you are struggling.

Don't forget it's relatively common around weeks 3, 4 and 5 for this to happen.

And it's also going to happen if you go off plan!

Please don't let the carbs creep into your day too much, as the result is only too predictable.

Crabby don't despair. You know it works - and you know what the alternatives are like! KOKO.

For anyone else who's wobbling, remember that there are health benefits beyond weight loss associated with low carbing.

Have a read of this

Knowing the health benefits is what has helps to keep me on track when I'm feeling demotivated.

Four and a half off for me on my first week Grin

Hissy · 08/06/2015 14:15

so far i have lost little in weeks 3, 4 and 5. perhaps i need to come off BC, and allow myself to eat more things but less of it.

ok TOTM last week, and I normally weigh on Tuesday, 2lb off so far this week, so it could be worse. where IS that bloody whoosh fairy? :)

i think I need to reduce portions. I am managing 3l a day and it feels natural to drink it now.

I'm in this for the long haul, I want to get back to where I was when i came back to the UK. OK so a lot of that weight loss came from not eating, at the time i was in a hideous place, but i want to get myself back there in a healthy manner. i felt good at that weight and looked great. still thought I was fat mind, 4st lighter than I am now, but that is due to the shitty conditioning my parents subjected me to all my life.

ApplySomePressure · 08/06/2015 14:39

I well and truly fell off the wagon start of week 3....my life/marriage went a bit wonky and I just self sabotaged.

Will you accept me back? I so want this to work. Should I weigh myself tonight?

plumstone · 08/06/2015 14:47

AAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH - Did not bring enough to eat to work - have dispatched colleague to M&S Food for Prawns - bless she did while being all smiley and positive state there was junk in the kitchen and we could have a Monday Treat!!!! She is also a size 8 and has just demolished a lunch so carb filled I am amazed she can still function - However I am actually hungry and want food so prawns it is!! I also have a stinking cold (couldn't smell her lunch which was a blessing) - so the goal for today is finish off the two things that are important at work - get home, get into bed and sleep!!!

HemanOrSheRa · 08/06/2015 14:50

2lb off this week. But that is some of what I put on while on hols. I'm due on and I had a couple of Becks Blues and a very nice proper BBQ'd beef burger in a roll Blush in the sunshine at the weekend. I enjoyed it and didn't feel like I'd lost control. So I'm quite happy with that loss. Plus I am feeling most excellent, considering I have PMS (it's much better this month). AND I had started the C25K again! So all good here.

Sorry to read some of you are struggling Flowers. Try and keep going.

HemanOrSheRa · 08/06/2015 14:52

*HAVE started the C25K, not had. Doh!

AuntieMaggie · 08/06/2015 15:02

STS here but am experiencing a but of carb creep because I'm too exhausted to think due to ds!

I also can't update the sheet as I'm on my phone!

readyforno2 · 08/06/2015 15:08

141.2. Will read the full thread later, going to try to add to the spreadsheet doing the html removal.. I'll report back. Wine to the pp who's ds worked it out

ditavonteesed · 08/06/2015 15:30

Just over a pound off, did my measurements and 1.5 inches of my wasit and hips and an inch off my chest so all good. I had a fall off luunch but back on it now, going to run 5k in a min in am attempt to draw a line under the fall off.

chocolatespiders · 08/06/2015 16:52

Hello everyone .. I know I am a latecomer but after having a terrible relationship with food I am taking the plunge and trying low carb. I weigh 16.9 Shock
Today I had Greek yog with blueberries and strawberries. Lunch was quorn chilli.
I hope these are acceptable meals but glad to be guided if not.

What are good snacks or do you not snack?

Any good recommended buys from lidl or Aldi?
I am notca big meat eater due to finances but will try!

mrswhiskers · 08/06/2015 16:57

Hello. I've been lurking on the LC bootcamp threads.
I've been following 5:2 for a few months and been getting on well.
I don't really need to lose weight but another few pounds would be good Smile

I dabbled a bit with LCHF last week and really think it could work for me. I'm very interested in the health benefits and the WOE makes a lot of sense.

I'm hoping to pick up some tips along the way so place marking here.

plumstone · 08/06/2015 17:12

Chocolate - hi - I grudge paying lots of money for meat - but find pork belly and full fat mince reasonable also - shopping at the end of the day when stuff is reduced v good value - then take it home, portion up and freeze.

I try not to snack - but small packs of prawns are good as are a cheeky bag of pork scratchings - I am sure there will be an expert along to give note help but if you eat more fat appetite reduces greatly xoxo

LexLoofah · 08/06/2015 17:15

hello all, 1lb but am thrilled it was not more after my mini break from BC last week whilst poorly, hopefully that is the extent of the damage and I can start again. Have just realized that week 10 of BC will be our first week back in the UK woo hoo! So that definitely makes it a goal to aim for. I will not pay to ship clothes that will soon not fit me at all, they are already so baggy after the last BC.

Apply of course you can, hope things are less wonky now, why not weigh in tomorrow morning? Better than at night

welcome mrswhiskers

Tetley650 · 08/06/2015 17:42

I have a friend who lives on sweets and biscuits and is stick thin. Pre boot camp a coffee at her house would involve a bowl coming out of the fridge with chilled offerings of a carby kind. She also doesn't cook! Today I managed to have a bpc - she had the ingredients ( I know that it is basically 3 - but to find them in her kitchen is jaw dropping). I can now go to her house happy in the knowledge that our putting the world to rights coffee needn't sabotage me.

To everyone who's finding it all a challenge - just think if you go back to calorie counting you will miss cream, cheese, scratchings, well dressed unctuous salads or if you include them you will end up back at the deadly 50:50 which means you can't stop eating fat and sugar and put on even more weight.
I've been in the supermarket and so wanted to throw in the towel - remember I was a newbie and put on the first 2 weeks not great when it seemed everyone else was losing and some significantly. At some point we have to chose - I chose lchf! Because I like cream on my strawberries especially during Wimbledon!!!

Romeyroo · 08/06/2015 18:05

Flowers thanks for new thread - place marking
