Morning all - lovely sunny day here!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness for your confessions

It sounds like some of us have been struggling recently, so I hope that the scales have been kind to you this morning.

If the scales aren't your friend, then don't forget to take your measurements, or to try on that dress/those jeans that were too tight 5 weeks ago - the results here are more meaningful than the scales anyway.

I put some new trousers on yesterday that I bought a couple of weeks ago, and find that they are now too big. Which is both pleasing and annoying at the same time Grin

I've not lost anything but I'm happy to koko. Small non scale victory in that I can now wear my fit bit on the small sized wrist band it came with rather than the large. It's on the last holes but still it's a win!
Also I'm falling out of my jeans. Started weights with the physio today in my bid to be pain free and healthy for another baby. KOKO ladies.

LexLoofah · 08/06/2015 18:35

B - 3 streaky bacon, 2 eggs fried in butter, cuppa
L - watercress, avo, hm mayo, cucumber, brie, leftover roast beef spread with butter and horseradish mustard - lovely
D - more leftover roast beef, thinking I will do a stroganoff with it so mushrooms, sour cream, paprika, shallot over courgetti or shiratki & buttered broccoli - ooh might use the leftover beef dripping for frying the shallots and mushrooms, mmmmm - no I do not want to go back to how I was eating before or anything else called a 'diet'

dillite · 08/06/2015 18:46

I'm still here. It's been s really shit few days diet wise as I have had no cooking facilities since Friday- stupid oven caught fire due to a fucking gas leak! How the whole houses didn't go up in flames I have no idea. So it's been microwave meals and carbs galore until we get gas reconnected/ new oven and cooker. I have noticed that now that I eat carbs I am feeling much worse physically.

dillite · 08/06/2015 18:47

Oh and congratulations to everyone on their losses, if there are any!

GuyMartinsSideburns · 08/06/2015 18:49

I'm staying the same again this week which is good because I too have had a bit of a blow out, various excuses but anyway il be back on it in the morning.

GuyMartinsSideburns · 08/06/2015 18:51

Sorry - could someone update me please - 121. Thanks Smile

HemanOrSheRa · 08/06/2015 18:56

I just wanted to say I have had two slices of yummy Meatzza. Someone posted the recipe on one of the earlier chat threads, maybe Lex? I've made it a couple of times - it is delicious! I made the base a bit thicker tonight - deep crust Smile - so I could pick the slices up like 'normal' pizza. Thank you!

DP keeps eating my food Angry. Yesterday morning I got up to find he'd eaten the sausage I'd saved for my breakfast and buggered off to work. Today I checked in the fridge for the leftover greek marinaded chicken that I'd earmarked for my lunch and found he'd eaten that late last night. Bastard. I was really looking forward to that chicken.

B - two hard boiled eggs, still warm, halved and spread with butter. Black tea and glass of water.

L - Greek salad, mixed leaves. No bloody Greek chicken Angry.

D - Mexican Meatzza, salad and oily dressing.

No snacks Shock (yet) 2l water. Still drinking. 1 cup of tea with a splash of milk.

Has anybody had the carb free noodles or rice from holland and barratt? I bought some yesterday as it was half price. Think it's made from the same stuff as the shirataki noodles

Sorelip · 08/06/2015 19:46

I've been a carby twat after finding I've gained 2lb this week. Will be back on track tomorrow.

Kleptronic · 08/06/2015 19:48

I've had them Clare but I couldn't get on with the texture, like overdone squid. Not offensive taste wise though, they taste of nowt. I don't like beans because of their texture either though, so I'm an unreliable reporter as I'm a funny bugger that way, you might like 'em Smile

Romeyroo · 08/06/2015 20:40

dillite, that sounds scary. Hope it gets fixed soon.

BIWI · 08/06/2015 21:00

clare they're great in Asian-type soup or noodle dishes. You need to make sure you rinse them really well though, because the fluid they're stored in can be a bit fishy!

Hissy it's often the case that people don't lose in weeks 3, 4 and/or 5 - don't change anything unless you know for sure it's impeding your weight loss. Just KOKO.

chocolate (you'll have to change that name! Grin) have you read Bootcamp rules? If you're starting with the first two strict weeks, then fruit is not allowed. Make sure you have a good read - they're on the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet.

Love love love this woe. Almond flour pancakes bacon mushrooms and tomato all fried. Brinner has always been a firm fave

Meattza sounds gorgeous. Could you describe it and post your recipe?

dillite · 08/06/2015 21:13

Romey it was no fun, that's for sure!

Gcalgske · 08/06/2015 21:14

Claire I wouldn't eat them in large quantities - they bung me up horrifically.

Gcalgske · 08/06/2015 21:25

Good today
BPC
Smoked salmon, fried egg, courgette and capers - weird but tasty
Sausages and cauliflower cheese with bacon
BCL - a few berries and cream

HemanOrSheRa · 08/06/2015 21:42

I cannot for the life of me get my phone to do a link Cobb. You make a 'pizza' base from beef mince. Bake it and then add your toppings. The recipe that someone kindly posted on one of the earlier bootcamp threads was for a mexican style base:

500g beef mince
2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp ground cumin and paprika
1/2 tsp salt (I use a bit more though)
2 crushed cloves of garlic

Mix all these together. The original recipe suggests that you press all of this into a sandwich cake tin. But I thought this might cause me grief when I tried to get it out! So I just press it out on a baking tray lined with baking parchment until it's about 1 cm or so (very approx) thick. Either in a vague circle shape or a rectangle. Bake it at 180c for about 20 mins or so until it's got some colour. I check it and drain off any watery stuff that comes out of the mince.

I make up a tomato and garlic sauce with about 1/3 tin of lowest carb toms, garlic and a slug of oil or wodge of butter. Cook it down until it's thick. Spread this over the cooked beef base. Add your toppings. The original recipe just used veg but I go the whole hog with mushrooms, a few bits of crispy bacon, cheese and a sprinkle of oregano. Pop it back in the oven until the cheese melts.

I take no credit for this! That goes to whoever posted the original link! Smile

Thanks BIWI - I tried to print them out at work but they are not complete and was scared to mess with it as I don't know what I am doing on computers!!

Hangonaminutewillyou · 08/06/2015 21:51

BIWI - thanks for the article about the health benefits for this WOE, just finished reading & it's really motivating. It's not just about losing weight. Thanks for advice about dealing with tricky DH on last week's thread as well. I'm going to shut up about it now & let him make his own decisions..,fingers crossed he'll make better choices in the future but I'm the meantime he is at least trying and eating fewer carbs than normal can only be a good thing!

Hangonaminutewillyou · 08/06/2015 21:59

By the way, Dr Briffa's book, escape the diet trap, is on offer at the mo - the kindle version. I bought it for £2.07 today. I have already read the paperback but wanted the kindle version too for ease of reference as I never seem to get to read actual books anymore! It's a good book and definitely warrants a re-read!

WineCheeseSleep · 08/06/2015 22:08

Thanks to people who posted words of encouragement. I'm keeping at it this week for sure.

BIWI - can too little fat actually prevent weight loss or cause a gain? Sometimes last week I probably didn't get enough fat due to being somewhere with very little choice. I didn't stray into carbs but I may have actually eaten too little. Is this possible?

BIWI · 08/06/2015 22:12

If you're not eating carbs, and you're not eating enough fat, then it means you will be eating a lot of protein - and protein does produce an insulin spike. Not as much as if you're eating carbs, but this could mean that you gain weight a little, or don't lose it - so yes, eating enough fat is important. It also helps to keep you feeling full for longer.
