Week 2 - January Low Carb Bootcamp - the first moment of truth!

Good morning! Already seen that there are some good losses, even for those in the dreaded week 3 Grin

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

I love this point in Bootcamp. It's such a leap of faith for so many people when they first start low carbing, because it seems so strange to eat all the fat we're told to eat. But then when the scales show the result, I love it!

Morning all! I'm in the dreaded week three having started back on 1 January but I have lost just over a pound! Really pleased with that. I went riding over the weekend and my jods were definitely looser and my belt this morning is in need of another hole. I managed to get a lunchtime walk in every day last week - so no booze, lots of water and a tiny bit of exercise seems to be doing the trick.

galbraith · 26/01/2015 09:46

Well done everyone! Grin

3lb off - only 13 more to go! WOOHOO! This is feeling achievable now! I'm going to be even more careful this week (after the prawn cracker lapse last week).

sassandfaff · 26/01/2015 09:52

Clicked on the spreadsheet and hovered my hand over for a few seconds, panicking in case I ruin everything. Finally pressed on this week's cell for me and nothing happened.

Can someone please put 195 in for me? Tia.

sassandfaff · 26/01/2015 09:53

And we

Birdinacage · 26/01/2015 09:53

Morning everyone, hope things are going well for you all Smile

2lbs down for me today although it feels like more as I also gained a mysterious 2.5lbs in the middle of the week which has disappeared again now, pretty sure it was down to inflammation and water retention as I've been sticking to the rules and there was really no obvious reason for a gain.

sassandfaff · 26/01/2015 09:54

Phone is going bonkers on me!

Supposed to say well done everyone.

lurkingmurking · 26/01/2015 10:01

Done sass

Some amazing losses well done skinnies!

I still can't quite believe this WOE eating works so well, I don't feel like I am depriving myself at all! After years of no-fat Philly eating the real thing still feels like I am being super naughty!

Food for today:

B: 2 eggs fried in butter, mushrooms, chorizo, 2x coffee with cream
L: Tuna steak with green beans, olives, feta, salad, hardboiled egg
D: Ribeye steak with roasted broccoli
S: Hoping not to snack so much this week but have olives and cheese on the ready

sassandfaff · 26/01/2015 10:04

Thanks lurking

Trufflethewuffle · 26/01/2015 10:04

I'm quite pleased as I have managed to lose 2lbs despite being derailed by events halfway through the week.

Can someone please update the spreadsheet for me? Thanks.

Well done everyone!

lurkingmurking · 26/01/2015 10:06

Done Truffle

nowitsenough · 26/01/2015 10:07

I've lost one and a quarter lbs, which I'm happy with, because I didn't think I'd lost anything at all. Too much coleslaw and too large portions I suspect. Dh has lost 7 lbs! but then he had a lot to lose.

mootime · 26/01/2015 10:18

Thrilled to say that I am down 3 lbs despite a tricky weekend and the shift to BCL. That makes it 5 lb in total over 3 weeks. Not huge, but going in the right direction and it barely feels like I'm on a "diet".
Whats more amazing is that I look like Ive lost far more. I am in trousers that I've not managed to get on since before the last baby and my coats which have been VERY snug are really loose around my tummy. DH ( who never notices) is really complimentary and is suddenly a bit more "interested"!

Hobbes8 · 26/01/2015 10:26

2lb down despite the weekend's lunching out wobbles. I was 3lb down on Friday though so I'm wondering whether to switch to Friday weighing, or whether the prospect on Monday weighing will help keep me on the straight and narrow.

Just had cream cheese pancakes for breakfast, prob salad for lunch and something with mince for dinner. Need to drink more water!

GuyMartinsSideburns · 26/01/2015 10:27

Morning all. 1lb down which I'm pleased about but I can't seem to update the spreadsheet on my iPad. Am I doing something wrong? If someone could update mine (124) please I'd be grateful. Apologies in advance for asking this each Monday if I don't manage to figure out how to sort it.

Have a great day all Smile

ChippingInLatteLover · 26/01/2015 10:38

Lots of great results :)

I need to go shopping today. I need avocados to be cheaper & plentiful again! It's difficult as a non egg eating vegetarian without a good supply of avocado!

I had cheesy veg for breakfast today.

Gonna make a green smoothie for lunch, but don't have any avocado so wonder how it will turn out...

YoureMyWifeNowDave · 26/01/2015 10:58

Morning everyone

2lbs down this morning (although i was 4lbs down on saturday!)

Just got back from the doctors who has confirmed a gallstones diagnosis Sad so I will need to be cautious with fat until I have the blasted gallbladder whipped out and I am off on a cruise on Friday so I'm fully expecting to put some weight back on over the next few weeks Sad

I will continue to post weights on the spreadsheet though (as long as you don't mind BIWI) and try to follow BC rules as much as possible without causing a flare up

prettybird · 26/01/2015 11:02

Am going to leave it until tomorrw to weigh in - had been on for a 3lb loss but the Burns Supper last night has caused a blip. Black pudding, haggis, cranachan and lots of wine are not Boot Camp compatible Blush

To be fair on me, I deliberately started Boot Camp over a week early, so I was "out" of the 2 weeks of strict Boot Camp last night Grin Up until then I had been really good with no alcohol at all for 2 weeks much to dh's frustration Wink we'll gloss over the 7 peices of tablet I succumbed to on Saturday night Blush

Sorelip · 26/01/2015 11:04

I need to pull out. LC seems to be negatively affecting my thyroid function. I need to sleep all the time, feel depressed and have gained 2lb.

Shitty thyroid.

Biwi and SayraT, thank you for running bootcamp. Best of luck to everyone.Smile

lurkingmurking · 26/01/2015 11:12

Oh sorelip that sucks. My SIL really struggles with her thyroid too and it's rubbish.

MsHap · 26/01/2015 11:21

4lb down for me on last week and 9lb since new years day so I'm pleased as its the lowest I've been for quite a while (I put on weight after a particularly carb heavy holiday in Spain last summer).

I've added to the spreadsheet.

Mrsstevejones · 26/01/2015 11:24

Morning all

B - Bacon cooked in butter - to celebrate weight loss!
B - Bpc

(L?)Contemplating green smoothie before i head out to collect DD from preschool

Dinner tonight is lamb stew with left over roasted red pepper and tomato sauce and swede mash and buttered kale - i will only have a tiny bit of sauce. In the slow cooker now and smells yummy.

Had 1.5ls of water already - sloshing and constantly needing a wee!

Well done everyone, some great losses!

sassandfaff · 26/01/2015 11:25

I think you can add yourself to the bottom of the spreadsheet and sayra will put you in the right alphabetical place later.

Or if you are like me, ask sayra to add you. #technophobe. Wink

ChesterDrawers · 26/01/2015 11:28

Chipping have you got an Aldi near you? Their ready to eat avocados are £1.49 for two and are the nicest I've found at a reasonable price. They are almost always perfectly ripe.

I had some 'ripe and ready' ones from Morrisons last week and they were so hard and tasteless.
