Morning all. Sorry for the late start of the thread.

Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here

and we also have our lovely Weight Tracker

Hope you all have a good week!

And interested to see how you fared after Ubercamp, those of you who braved it!

miffy - hey - Im a bit disappointed this week too but at least its moving in the right direction and perhaps you need to see it in the round, I seem to have periods were its slow and then others where its faster - not much rhyme or reason to it apart from that bodies are complex. Just keep at it and hopefully we'll have a lovely whoosh of weightloss in the next few weeks Smile

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 29/07/2014 11:49

Mea culpa. Last week went straight down the pan. So I'm going to salvage what I can and crack on.

Lulabellarama · 29/07/2014 12:09

STS this week, which I'm accepting of due to a poor weekend and an increase in resistance exercise.
I'm looking good, which is far more important.
The strangest benefit I've found so far is that my nails are a lot stronger, longer and healthier. Unexpected bonus!
My favourite benefit is the improvement to my skin. It was never awful but I often had outbreaks on my chin. I'm pretty flawless now Grin

Today then:
B: yogurt
L: tuna mayo salad
D: taco bake

Snack: pork scratchings

trinitybleu · 29/07/2014 12:44

Taco bake? What's that?? Sounds lovely ...

BIWI · 29/07/2014 13:10

miffy - list out what you've been eating/drinking over the last few days, let's see if can spot anything

NigellasGuest · 29/07/2014 14:11

I've just had an avocado with Hellmans FF mayo, salt and pepper. Very filling! Chucking the water down too!

miffy49 · 29/07/2014 14:27

Thanks Biwi. I've been over and over what I have and tried all sorts of combinations. I did really well to start with and then it slowed down which is pretty typical of LC. I had got off just over 50lbs from a start weight of around 220lbs but then the stalls started. What had really worried me was that recently my trend line had started to point upwards and my BG was climbing. I knew I had to act before it got worse. At that point my calories were averaging around 1200 and the split was around 70% fat, 20-25% protein and 5-10% carb. I had been eating a fair amount of dairy. I'm not that mobile but I do resistance work with weights at least 3 times a week and try to manage a bit of gardening where possible.

Just as we were all getting ready for this BC I read some stuff by Zoe Harcombe and decided to try the only thing I had been steadfastly avoiding which was to knock the dairy. So I started on the Wed before BC and then continued all last week on Uber. The only dairy I've had is 100gr Greek yoghurt (home made). Harcombe is big on NLY to counteract candida and general lack of gut flora and I had a lot of candida when I was younger so I thought it worth a shot. On Harcombe and Uber my calories have dropped dramatically but the macros remain the same. I am trying to ignore the calories as I'm hardly going to starve! Grin

Being sensible and looking back further than the spread sheet, I have actually gone from 172lbs to 169 as I had already lost 2lbs before the BC weigh in last week so I suppose it is going the right way. My BG is right down to 5.5 now and it had been back up to 6.8! I really have no intention of going totally off piste as I know from experience that I don't like the way I feel when I do. I lose my energy and the brain fog comes racing back. I'm just so sick of trying to shift the last 35lbs or so.

Bet your brain hurts now and you wish you never asked!! Grin Oh, yes, I do drink my water! Around 3.5 to 4ltrs.

readyforno2 · 29/07/2014 14:36

Is the taco bake on the recipes page? sounds like something dp would like

StuntNun · 29/07/2014 14:38

How's your BG now Miffy? If it has stabilised then I would keep doing what you're doing and wait it out. It may be that you've lost enough weight that your body is demanding a pause before you lose any more. If you keep your macros approximately right and maybe even eat a bit more for a while you will likely find the scales dropping again. Prolonged stalls are common with low carb eating and you can either wait it out or try and break it with carb refeeds or fasts. Personally I would wait until you've had four weeks of weight loss before you try anything so extreme. I know after I got down to 9.5 stone then I couldn't get any lower for months (although Christmas got in the way there too). I think my body had to 'get used' to my new weight before I could lose any more.

BIWI · 29/07/2014 15:40

miffy - it's tough when you're 'in it' and things don't seem to be moving. But if you stand back and have a look at your trend, presumably it is still going down - and hurrah for your BF going back down again!

Why not try knocking the yoghurt on the head for a few days, but replace with a good probiotic (for the anti-candida protection), just to see if this makes any impact?

OP posts:
miffy49 · 29/07/2014 15:53

Thanks Stunt, Biwi

I've had stalls before but never this long! My best weight was right back in November. Then about 4lb on over Christmas which was off as fast as it went on so I guessed it was more glycogen than fat. Since then just bobbing around with the same 4lbs going on and off! My trend line couldn't have been straighter if it had been drawn with a spirit level! At least now its pointing downwards again. Maybe now my BG is down I might be able to let go of some fat stores.

Thought about probiotics but then I saw the price so I stuck with a little bowl of yoghurt!

Lulabellarama · 29/07/2014 16:09

I got the taco bake from Food.com. Just google 'low carb taco bake' and it's the first result.

Treasures · 29/07/2014 17:48

My husband does the cooking mostly so please excuse my ignorance, but Lulabellarama in that taco bake recipe, what do they mean by 'taco seasoning' exactly? Is that something I can buy in a packet, do you know? If it's something I can get hold of easily then I'd like to try that for my dinner one night this week.

Firsttimer7259 · 29/07/2014 18:13

Sorry I probably sounded inane w the keep on keeping on

Livelongandprosper · 29/07/2014 19:54

Sayra Thanks for adding me to the spreadsheet, I've managed to add my starting weight.
I really like reading about how people are noticing the difference in the fit of their various Garments of Truth (Montserrat I am thinking specifically of you!) I'm off upstairs to try on my summer dress of truth as my starting point.

Livelongandprosper · 29/07/2014 20:09

I managed to get the dress of truth past my hips (just) but could only get it zipped up to the bottom of my rib cage. I have never been small of nork but they really have become enormous Blush
Game on!

trinitybleu · 29/07/2014 20:21

So today ...

B - baked egg things (bacon, egg, avocado, feta) with mushrooms
L - chicken, avocado and mayo, with little gem and cucumber
S - salami ducks, chicken thigh
D - burger, cheese, bacon, coleslaw, gherkins. Choc cheesecake pot.

miffy49 · 29/07/2014 20:30

Not at all Firsttimer I was glad of the support. Smile Helped top keep me going until common sense kicked back in! It just gets to be hard work when you hear from people who can eat loads more than me and yet still lose several pounds a week. I get a bit peevish and fed up. Missing my dairy dreadfully this week.

ponygirlcurtis · 29/07/2014 20:32

Evening everyone. Day 2 for me.

Yesterday I had:

B: Small bowl of yoghurt
L: 2 roast chicken drumsticks & 2 wings
D: Large pork chop, veg fried in butter
And about 3 litres of water!

Today I've had:
B: Pieces of roast gammon
L: Bowl of salad and coleslaw, and 6 chicken wings
D: Roasted veg and roast pork belly
And about 3 litres of water/mint tea.

Is that sounding about ok? I am going to have avocados, chicken and salad tomorrow to mix it up a bit.

My scales said I've shed around 4lb this morning already! I know that seems unlikely, but that thought alone kept me going through a tough challenge - DS1 wanted to go to Pizza Hut for lunch... the salad and chicken wings were the only thing on the carbtastic menu I could have. I think I did ok under the circumstances.

My mouth is really really dry at the back of my throat though - ironic given the amount of liquid I'm taking in! And not hungry, but I am tired.

SchroSawMargeryDaw · 29/07/2014 20:33

Doing the meat and egg thig so..

B- 4 slices of bacon and an egg yolk, bpc

L - 4 slices of bacon and mayo

D- 4 slices bacon and mayo

Will try and change up meat tomorrow, proud tomsay I have stayed away from cheese for 2 days, woo!

Lulabellarama · 29/07/2014 20:41

Treasures Yes, you can just buy a packet of taco seasoning in the Mexican section. It was really nice. The base comes out sort of omelette-ish. I had it with some diced tomato, avocado and spring onion and a dollop of sour cream. I've got leftovers for my lunches for the next few days now.

bettybigballs · 29/07/2014 20:44

Checking in with the losers! Good to read everyone's posts
. Sorry to post and run, away at the min but keeping on track.

Earlybird · 29/07/2014 20:47

My menu today:

B: 2 eggs scrabbled in butter, 2 rashers bacon
L: beef burger with tiniest dab of ketchup, pickle spear ( is that OK?), full fat cottage cheese
D: leafy salad topped with sliced chicken, oil based salad dressing, sliced cucumber...and a small handful of pistachio nuts (bad, bad, bad?)

Your verdict?

Oh, and i walked 12,000 steps (about half at a very quick pace), and drank required water.

So glad to be back on this WOE, I had a few weeks off due to various things outwith my control and though I didn't hate it I realise now how good I feel on this WOE.

Another thing I noticed was that I hadn't had tonsil stones for months and then this last week I got some again.

I am going to start recording my meals again as it helps keep me on track.

Yesterday

B: Eggs in a cup, coffee with cream
L: Duck
D: Chicken in nutty, creamy, gingery sauce (was at a Brazilian restaurant)

Today

B: Eggs in a cup, coffee with cream
L: Sausages, salad
D: Spicy meatballs on courgetti
