ive been a single parent now for oevr 7 years
i chose to be alone

i cant imagine myself being settled again and sharing the parenting responsibility-its been so long

but i dont want to be alone for the rest of my life! im worried that i will be though as we are very close and for someone to come in our lives it would affect the dynamics

charliecat · 25/07/2007 22:25

You ok Twoifbysea? I have completely missed a thread if there is one, sorry...
How you holding up?

Lmccrean · 26/07/2007 13:26

dd was 1 when I started dating again (her dad and I split up before I found out I was pregnant) About a year ago, just before her 4th bithday he got in touch and we have been a couple for 7 months now. He lives 600 miles away though, so not many dates...lol

TwoIfBySea · 27/07/2007 21:23

Hi Charliecat, I'm getting there, just accepting it (having a hard time doing so) and trying to move on for the sake of dts.

At some point I shall have to stop crying every day because my eyes are suffering, all puffy and sore!

Beeble33 · 27/07/2007 21:42

Have been single mum for 2.5yrs now since DS was 14 weeks. It does get better Twoifbysea - are you ok?

charliecat · 28/07/2007 08:00

Awwww, you will stop crying. Honestly, although I did spent a whole day last week on and off having a cry, I couldnt really tell you what about either
Big deep breaths and think nice things.
Can you arrange things in advance so you have something to focus on?
I find this sea of nothingness ahead of me quite unnerving.

allgonebellyup · 28/07/2007 09:47

TwoifbySea - i know what you mean by the crying and puffy eyes! - although i split with dh nearly 4 months ago, and i was really happy to begin with, its only just hit me now that we will never be together again (as he has just met someone new)and i cannot stop bawling every evening as soon as i put the kids to bed.
sometimes i cant wait that long and my dd gets upset seeing me crying as i havent cried for about a year!!

LateralMum01 · 01/08/2007 11:46

since I was pregnant and my son is now 7 years old.

No light at the end of THIS tunnel!

allgonebellyup · 01/08/2007 15:07

Lateralmum, do you get to go out and meet people?
i split from my dh 3months ago and have already had one fling and one date, plus another (internet)date next week..

i couldnt face being single for 7yrs.. do you get to flirt with any men you like?

Been a single mum for six weeks now. Ex already got another woman 13 years his junior. It is hard but have lots of support especially from his family which I think he hates - what does he expect when we were married for 15 years that they would drop me too. He loves to rub it in my face about the other woman. Told him other woman is not to see my children for a year at least - can I do this?
