ive been a single parent now for oevr 7 years
i chose to be alone

i cant imagine myself being settled again and sharing the parenting responsibility-its been so long

but i dont want to be alone for the rest of my life! im worried that i will be though as we are very close and for someone to come in our lives it would affect the dynamics

A funny from yesterday's accident....on another thread.

Yesterday, I managed to break two fingers and disclocate one of them in a biking accident.

Went to A&E. Stood in the cubicle with nurse. I am wearing a biking top, biking gloves, tight legging type things, and biking shoes.

She looks at hand, winces and says "Did you do it whilst biking?"

I allowed the realisation to dawn on her......and then said, "Does it show?" .

And she was lovely...if you are reading.

Pan · 23/07/2007 14:41

lou...surely you've something to do!!

lou33 · 23/07/2007 14:50

i do but i am avoiding it, i just made a bacon and egg toasted sandwich

ow about your fingers, how on earth are you typing?

Pan · 23/07/2007 15:07

with the remaining digits - all on my right hand!!

Beginning to see the ordinary jobs that will be a nuisance..cooking, dressing............damn. My buddy took great joy in taking piccies of my hand before it was yanked back in place. Very supportive.

Pan · 23/07/2007 15:08

Pan · 23/07/2007 18:34

Cooked tea...did washing up....watched a film..did a couple of emails...everything takes twice as long to acheive with one operable hand. By the time I had shelled the boiled eggs they were stone cold!!

charliecat · 23/07/2007 18:36

Oh you have been busy, put me to shame, ive watched my washign get wet on the line, collected the kids, thrown some stuff in the oven to burn, added a fryed egg for liquid to dip the burnt bits in and played scrabble...sigh...im so tired LOL

Girly · 23/07/2007 19:14

I split up with exh back in February, but he only moved out 4 weeks ago. So far I am enjoying my new found freedom. I go out a lot as ex has the kids most saturday nights.

Have had a friend for a few months now but its more of a physical thing not a relationship as such. I am not really ready for one yet, enjoying my freedom too much although I do seem to attract much younger men, not sure how!!

I have 3 kids and live in Middlesex. I thought I would jump in and say hi as I have been lurking for a while now

Pan · 23/07/2007 19:45

just read all of the thread.

There does seem to be alot of 'passivity' going on. And pessimism. Undrstandable. And a sort of 'consumerist' approach. A sort of 'demand' to be entertained, beguiled by some shockingly interesting man, a 'front' that is likely to wear thin fairly quickly?? Just an impression.

AND..reading one or two posts, there ARE chaps out there who would/do prefer to date/be with a woman who has children. I know this. Mothers know about things that other women don't. Have demonstrated qualities that are so admirable. And, lets be honesty, they are a damned sight more interesting as well!!

charliecat · 23/07/2007 20:59

A while girly? You are an oldie according to your profile.
Im not looking for anything Pan, id just like to get naked with a certain local bloke while he parks his shears elsewhere...but hes at it with a married woman so im steering clear.

I LOVE the feeling of the chase, and the first bit of oh oh oh...lovely, anticipation etc...and would I think have been content with xp had he not been so damn negative and miserable.
I didnt expect much from him, honestyy, but he wouldnt make me a cup of tea Thats how much he thought of me, happy to eat the dinners I made, happy to wear the clothes I wash, happy to sleep in the bed I made, but wouldnt make me a cup of tea
I am very easily pleased, he was making me MISERABLE. "God, What have you got on?" "Why are you wearing make up- You never used to." "You look right nick in that"
OH FECK OFF...
You get one life. I wasnt going to spend mine with him putting me down CONSTANTLY. I have no idea how he became like that, neither has he.
But all I expect from whoever next is a cuppa tea really, and a smile. Not a sneer.
Sad really.

lou33 · 23/07/2007 21:02

hello girly

pan, i dont demand to be entertained or beguiled, i just wouldnt mind meeting someone who had some ballsiness to them

they have all been dullards

and i wont apologise for not wanting that, i am quite a strong character, i need someone equally as strong

PMSL Rickman

I had pleurisy and was in bed thinking I was dying, I felt like I was....and for 3 weeks I carried on...getting up every 30 mins spewing liquid out of lungs that was drowning me, so no sleep and gettin up and looking after a toddler and taking dd1 to school evert day for 2.5 hours...standing about in the cold waiting to collect her ocz it wasnt worth walking home.
And 3 weeks into it on a friday I asked him to take the day off...2 kids...ones 5, first time ive asked him...I feel like im DYING..PLEASE take the day off so I can rest...
at 6.30 am he shoves me, hes putting hes jeans on asking if I REALLY need him to stay off Fucker.
