Time for a new thread!!

Mellow, congratulations!

Dusty, ds2 would look so cool with a Beatles haircut

Pc, sorry you've all been ill, glad you're on the mend. Can't believe ds will be 2

Vbus, well done on getting dh into the spare room, dh refuses to move from our bed when he's ill!! Hope he's all better for your holiday, where are you going?

We're also ready for a holiday, am waiting for The Sun cheapie deals to start up again!

sfxmum · 05/04/2010 18:22

hello

well we shall see at this point it is just an idea I feel all at sea planning packages stuff, zero experience

dusty that is funny in fact I think the Daily Mail is more powerful than any think tank so much policy made to please them

finally laptop has Windows 7 miles better than their previous disaster but I still miss Linux

vbus · 05/04/2010 18:53

Mellow/Dusty - LOL
Hope IL's visit went well Mellow

Sfx - we are contemplating a package holiday this summer with childcare, never done anything like that, it does feel all alien

My parents just left. On with laundry and packing for our short trip. As usual DC stuff takes up so much rm, I might be able to fit a few tops and a pair of jeans for me

sfxmum · 06/04/2010 09:14

hello all

as the forecast is for sun we will be off to Kew later at about 11 or so have something to do before
so if anyone heading there do give us a shout

tillyfernackerpants · 06/04/2010 11:08

hi all

We're having a quiet day at home today. We've had 3 busy days in a row & ds's are shattered after Legoland yesterday (didn't get home until 7.30pm ).

We'll probably be at Kew later in the week if anyone fancies meeting up

OP posts:
pcworld · 06/04/2010 12:30

Wow Tilly, bet they loved Legoland? We still haven't been. We'll be at Kew later in the week, too - would be good to meet up if anyone is around. dd has swim school every morning, otherwise we're having a nice, chilled time. Bit of garden action today and unfortunately swine flu jabs this afternoon which may not be quite so much fun!

tillyfernackerpants · 06/04/2010 14:31

Pc, good luck with the jabs this pm. They did enjoy Legoland. Apparently ds1 got lost for about 1 min but they put stickers on dc's back with parent's mobile number on so whoever is with them can ring the parents, I thought that was quite impressive .

We'll probably be at Kew on Thursday, off to Bunny Farm tomorrow with some friends & ds2 has a hearing test on Friday so will have to battle Hounslow's one way system!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 06/04/2010 15:10

hello

good luck with jabs PcW
Kew was nice and packed lost dd a couple of times

tilly/PC deffo back to kew later in the week think science museum tomorrow, weather forecast not promising

Legoland an option at some point

tillyfernackerpants · 06/04/2010 15:52

sfx, how's the new outdoor playground? Apart from busy

OP posts:
sfxmum · 06/04/2010 16:09

tilly playground is fabulous proper adventurous with some danger just like kids like it
but they are kitted out for 3-11 so fair range of stuff to do

dd says it is lots and lots of fun, she loves it, getting quite adept at pushing others out of the way

pcworld · 06/04/2010 17:40

Ohhhh I do lurve the science museum. We might do Kew on Thurs too, will keep in touch on here in case any of you might be around to meet. Flu jab was fine for the dcs, I just hope there are no after-effects. ds is really struggling with the "terrible twos" at the moment, we are talking hard. work. Still, on the plus side he is so exhausted by the end of the day, we just chuck him into bed and he zonks out immediately!

sfxmum · 07/04/2010 10:00

hello

dd nixed the museum plan and voted for a 'snuggly' day
we are now discussing elections and having breakfast

sfxmum · 07/04/2010 10:01

pcW like your silver lining good to hear vaccines went well, they don't seem to have offered them here, at the time the doctor said it is likely dd already had it

mellow2 · 07/04/2010 11:04

pcw - glad jabs went well.

vbus - MIL was in top form. I've just remembered after the visit why I avoid her best I can. Good luck with booking trip.

sfx - who is mini sfx telling you to vote for?

Anyone up for meet up on Friday or Mon afternoon? Might be able to come out and play. Sorry haven't kept up with holiday plans so dont' know who will be around.

pcworld · 07/04/2010 12:20

SFX, we were told that dd had swine flu in November (she was v ill) and were given tamiflu. However, I've had the jab done anyway as she is asthmatic and as the nurse said anyway "we don't know if it was actually swine flu OR a nasty virus". Anyway - for any of you thinking about it who have not had it - both dcs seem tip top today - and I always really worry about side effects etc so have been watching them like a hawk!

Mellow - will keep you posted re: Kew - depends on weather etc. dd has swim school every morning this week and is loving it. Just back from Kew Retail as ds's buggy (Maclaren!) broke yesterday and I do not think it can be repaired. I thought MacLaren were the best make!

sfxmum · 07/04/2010 15:35

mellow dd seems keen on Clegg as he 'seems nicer that the others'

pcW seems they vary opinion according to surgery, some neighbours had theirs

my snuggle day turned into massive tidy up chuck out stuff day, dh took afternoon off and is keeping dd occupied, am covered in dust and not even half of what I meant to do is yet done

am going out tomorrow

mellow2 · 07/04/2010 15:42

pcworld - i remember you posted about dd's alleged swine flu

sfx - I agree with mini sfx {smile]

sfxmum · 07/04/2010 15:44

mellow I will email you now as lost access other address and related emails

SushiMummy · 08/04/2010 08:17

Good morning, all. Lovely morning!

School situation still unclear but we do have a plan b so I feel more relaxed now.

Hope everyone is well. Have a nice day! (Wish I could join you at KG this week.)

sfxmum · 08/04/2010 09:54

hello

sushi sorry it is still unclear on the plus even the least desirable option is not actually bad iyswim

we are off to NHM I think, or maybe Science one Kew tomorrow. am the woman with a plan

am loving the slow starts

tillyfernackerpants · 08/04/2010 17:40

sushi, glad you're a bit more relaxed, having options always helps!

sfx, what did you do in the end? Am pondering whether its wise or not to take both ds's to Science Museum next week!

Didn't go to Kew in the end today. Met up with some friends at toy library, then to park & then out into the garden!!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 08/04/2010 17:52

tilly we went to the science museum, heart sunk at the sight of huge queue going around the block but it moved fast and we had a great time

Kew tomorrow, sometime after 11

mellow2 · 08/04/2010 19:21

Sushi - sorry to hear that things are still uncertain.

Pcworld - coming to kew? Haven't seen you in a while.

pcworld · 08/04/2010 19:53

What an amazing day! Spent largely in the garden with a wee stint at the park. SFX, glad you enjoyed the Science Museum. Tilly - I have only been to the Science Museum with both dcs when dh has been around, not been brave enough on my own just yet!

We will try and make Kew tomorrow but if we do we will most likely be at the new "playpark" as dd has been once so far and is itching to get back. Depends on my buggy situation too!

Kewcumber · 08/04/2010 21:46

There;s video?! where?

Was the piece in the paper the same as the online version - if so very disappointing as they focussed in th esilly comments (which we were asked to "break the ice" ) and ignored everything which was said about policy etc (which was the best part of the evening). We even refused to answer the bloody biscuit question (if they were a biscuit what biscuit would each leader be?) on the grounds on the grounds that it would just make us sound vacuous!

Very funny that they quote my lasy vote as being "can't remember" - no comment would have been more accurate but instead I sound like I have alzheimers .

QWe have been down th ecaravan though we have come back with webbed feet... if anyones going to Kew tomorrow we might be up for it.
