Time for a new thread!!

Mellow, congratulations!

Dusty, ds2 would look so cool with a Beatles haircut

Pc, sorry you've all been ill, glad you're on the mend. Can't believe ds will be 2

Vbus, well done on getting dh into the spare room, dh refuses to move from our bed when he's ill!! Hope he's all better for your holiday, where are you going?

We're also ready for a holiday, am waiting for The Sun cheapie deals to start up again!

Copper glad you had a nice party

Sushi - so glad you got to have a choice of schools, two is better than none

SFX did you know that the main Dr Who writer Mr Moffat sends his DCs to primary closest to you?? I met him there at a school fair

On nutty-control-freak-boss front I am very gleeful to report that she is stranded abroad indefinately as all Irish air space is closed {grin]

UptoapointLordCopper · 20/04/2010 10:37

Hello!

Lovely day out! Going to get DS2 in 40 mins to get his preschool booster jab. Then we will go gallivanting, since he complained it was unfair me and DS1 went out yesterday without him. We'll go and buy pillows .

Dusty - good result on mad boss! Iceland is not all bad after all.

PC - hope things are better.

We may try to do Kew Gardens Friday afternoon.

sfxmum · 20/04/2010 11:26

hello

there must be a few children off school again today, I keep bumping into parents looking desperate dragging the kids along in shops and along the river

dusty you told me there was a writer I did not know it was the head honcho, apparently his wife is a producer on the show as well, are the children still there? he looks very familiar but not sure if from the neighbourhood or articles on sci fi mags

RESULT on boss good riddance

copper sounds like a plan, should do something with dd after school too, she refuses extra activities (don't want to be left at school) but wants other children to play with, unfortunately they are at after school clubs

now off to the lovely world of accounts and spreadsheets, our accountant needs paperwork and I have to justify my salary

pcworld · 20/04/2010 12:23

SFX, some of the private schools have 4 weeks off over Easter

sfxmum · 20/04/2010 12:34

pcW they are obviously already preparing them for Uni
lots of local schools are semi open favouring the upper years and leaving the nippers with parents/ carers
how is the boy?

Kewcumber · 20/04/2010 12:47

sfx I'm home waiting for parcel 2-4pm today if you fancy breaking fom paperwork for a coffee...

sfxmum · 20/04/2010 13:11

Kew that slot is when I have to pick up dd might take her to playground after school if she fancies

vbus · 20/04/2010 13:38

I've just stepped in wet cemenet as builder did not fence round the wet part I guess I've officially made my mark in our street

Think DS1 having some sort of spurt. He seems v.tired and emotional and has been asking to go to bed by 6.30pm since Sat night We'll see how he is today after nursery, he said he was tired before we left.

Dusty - make the most of boss being stuck somewhere else

Hope everyone enjoying the sunshine

pcworld · 20/04/2010 14:04

Vbus, you are now immortalised! Hope your shoe recovers, though?

The boy is still v poorly, yet another morning lying on the sofa moaning, with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on heavy rotation Neck still swollen too, poor thing.

Have just been doing paperwork to keep busy. Sooo boring - but v productive all the same!

Kewcumber · 20/04/2010 14:39

was thinking you might drop in on the way but I have lost track of when proper schools end for the day!

sfxmum · 20/04/2010 14:44

Kew pick up is at 3.15 is your mobile working?

pcW poor boy hope it goes away soon, Chitty chitty bang is not bad on repeat

vbus it is like the walk of fame

sfxmum · 20/04/2010 14:48

did I mention there was a boy on work experience in the classroom?, apparently there for 2 weeks, he looks like a baby at least he is not a TA as I feared, I felt so so old

Kewcumber · 20/04/2010 14:51

yes I think so but buried in my handbag and not good reception in house. DS is not here but at nursery this afternoon.

UptoapointLordCopper · 20/04/2010 14:59

sfx - we finish early on Friday so if going will be in Kew about 3-5, if mini wishes people to boss about.

We bought dark grey pillow cases. And packets of wild flower seeds. Planning war on weeds by sowing flowering weeds.

sfxmum · 20/04/2010 16:54

lordcopper we might meet you there the idea was if good weather to head out to Kew on Fridays and have dinner on way home and on late opening days take a picnic

-best laid plans and all that

Kewcumber · 20/04/2010 17:54

we might be up for kew on friday.

Copper DS isnt using the vtech you gave us - do you want it back or shall we pass it on to someone else? We can bring it to Kew on Friday if you like.

UptoapointLordCopper · 20/04/2010 17:59

Kew - vtech not missed here so please pass it on to whoever.

We took some toys to the charity shop but they just moaned that they have too much. Luckily the bloke who took the toys from DS2 did say thank you. Seems a bit shabby to treat a small child handing over his own toys like that ...

dustythedolphin · 20/04/2010 19:40

SFX yes he is now the main writer, Russell has retired from it so Mr Moffat has been promoted from occasional writer to main writer. His kids were about the same age as DS1 so youngest probably still there

PC poor DS2 - I remember having fat-neck mumps. Its better he has it now though, so it can't endanger his testes as he is so young. to him & you all

dustythedolphin · 20/04/2010 19:41

Vbus is he eating tons too? Mine always eat & sleep loads just before a spurt. Hope its a spurt & he's not coming down with something

sfxmum · 21/04/2010 14:52

hello all I can see Susan Kramer from my window

anyway spent day self indulgently shopping and hanging out by myself in cafes in the sun, unheard of but nice

looking forward to gig tonight apparently niece's boyfriend will be in London and at gig too - how best to scare the boy and embarrass niece?

sfxmum · 21/04/2010 14:53

lordcopper how very charitable of them

dolphin is loony back?

vbus · 21/04/2010 19:27

Sfx/Tilly - enjoy gig

Sfx - sounds like a nice day, good celeb spot!

Copper - doesn't sound like great customer service

Dusty - must abea growth spurt as he's eating quite well and his trousers keep falling off (he just grows upwards and his waist gets even smaller)

Had a playdate after nursery with a boy who's immaculately behaved when he's with his nanny but when he's with his mum like today, he is such a nightmare. It's tough as mum is really nice but no fun being with the boy when he's playing up

UptoapointLordCopper · 21/04/2010 19:34

Hello!

Spent about one hour in the park. DS2 bumped into friends and they just ran up and down the little hill in the middle of the park. These kids are really easy to entertain!

dustythedolphin · 21/04/2010 21:25

That's a bit mean copper - 'specially when a child is being kind and handing over a much loved toy

SFX - enjoy the relaxation while you can

Vbus - DS1 did that, he went from short and chubba to tall and thin overnight! Same problem with DD now, she has the height of an 8 yr olf, with the waist of a 2 yr old!

Vbus - just be thankful you are not naughty monkey's Mum

Control freak boss still stranded overseas but am dreading her inevitable return She is a complete PITA
