sfxmum · 27/05/2009 10:43

hello good morning

here I am shirking my essay writing duties

how are you getting on tilly?

btw dd has insisted we should both get rosettes for after the race although she was a bit disappointment when I told her I would not win it bless her
poor little mite is still recovering from her illness and has been sleeping more than usual, she got up at 8.45

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 27/05/2009 14:08

sfx, bless her. We do get medals though, would that appease her?

I shirked essay writing tonight but must do it tonight as its a short one & I'm halfway through!

How's the training going? Not too bad here, I'm doing about a mile each time but my training plan is on length of run rather than distance. Not entirely sure its going to work , I will be doing it very slowly

sfxmum · 27/05/2009 14:26

lunch break
tilly I have nor run since Monday when I only did 2 miles but hopefully will go out tomorrow morning and again early at the weekend

we should do a couple of weekend runs together before the race do the 3 miles, maybe at Richmond Park?

essay is halfway done and I have a block of time tonight plus sometime tomorrow
rubbish horrid weather got wet twice already

Hello!

Exhausted from juggling work/home stuff... Why is there nothing on telly? Anyway I'm reading my first Rebus book. It's quite good, isn't it?

sfx - nothing wrong with the weather. You need a waterbutt. Then you will be pleased when it doesn't rain and even more pleased when it does. Amazing what a plastic container could do!

Hope everyone is well!

Kewcumber · 27/05/2009 21:59

exotic illnss no. 4762:

I now have a corneal abrasion havespent most of the day in Kingston Eye A&E.

The upshot is - painful but not serious - should clear within a week with antibiotic cream. SO I guess not so very exotic then...

Kewcumber · 27/05/2009 22:01

I loved the rebus books - should really go back and re-read them. I loved that he was so dishevvilled and hopeless - a sort of scottish Eeyore.

sfxmum · 27/05/2009 22:08

Rebus books have place of pride at our house

Kew does that mean you have a week off to rest?

am tired need sleep and hope to go running tomorrow morning, bored with essay

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 27/05/2009 22:31

No it means I have to work with a aore pink gunky eye that is light sensitive - been wearing sunglasses all day and look like a complete twat!

mygreatauntgriselda · 28/05/2009 09:34

Kew. Sorry to hear about your eye: what next?

(Whispers) "Don't forget my sponsorship, it take 2 minutes":

slng · 28/05/2009 19:36

Hello all!

Kew hope you are better.

sfx how was haircut trip? Haircut normally means hell here!

Had a very idle time in Richmond park with friend and her children in the afternoon after hellish meeting at work in the morning with two kids in tow. Managed also to scrounge lovely lunch and picnic tea from friend as well!

MrsRecycle · 28/05/2009 20:13

Hi everyone! Second viewing was good, although it looks like the compromise is our bedroom/wardrobe space. I'm going to take a third look to see if I can live with this (where are my shoes going to go?).
Having a lovely time - dd2 won the talent show up against some stiff competition. Thank goodness she won at first attempt, not sure I could put up with her whining all throughout the summer holidays. Mind you, now all I get from her is what song to sing in the semi's in October - trying to tell her "if you see Amy" by Britney is not good for an 8 year old!
Kew sorry to hear about the eye - hope the ointment kicks in soon.
Muesli - the place you described is Syon Park - has all of that. They cater for large and small wedddings. I've been to a couple there - lovely. Plus you have the holiday inn at Brentford dock which is close by.
My df got married at Pembroke Lodge and it was surprisingly unexpensive.
Shit sfx, I've totally forgotten about uniforms - I'll have to get 3 sets of them. Arghhhhh. Might use your list auntie thanks!

mygreatauntgriselda · 28/05/2009 22:36

MrsR glad DD 2 won after DD1 won last year. Tis hard being middle child!

sfxmum · 29/05/2009 14:26

mrsR well done dd2 bet she over the moon

lovely to see tilly and vbus earlier with all the children dd crashed soon after we left you, predictably enough

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 29/05/2009 15:23

sfx/vbus, nice to see you both today, think the weather had got to the dc's .

MrsR, glad dd2 won her competition, well done to her!

Kew, sorry about your eye, hope its getting better. At least now its sunny, you've got an excuse for wearing your sunglasses!

Ds1 is just watching Mary Poppins , can't believe I used to watch this regularly!

slng · 29/05/2009 16:48

Hello!

Tilly - we used to watch Sound of Music and My Fair Lady over and over and over again ...

DSs are watching Shaun the Sheep. Watching telly on a sunny day, like proper children! (Must say it's hilarious ...)

sfxmum · 29/05/2009 17:16

not too keen on 'My Fair lady' as a film/story but love 'Mary Poppins' as does dd
and 'Singing in the rain' gives them ideas
but I love musicals proper old one not cobbled together strange things

off to shove dinner in the oven so glad I bought some wine now

OP posts:
sfxmum · 29/05/2009 17:16

Shaun the Sheep is great very funny

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 29/05/2009 17:35

Haven't seen Shaun the Sheep, but ds1 seemed to enjoy MP! He also likes the old Winnie the Pooh films.

Slng, I think playing outside is overrated sometimes

vbus · 29/05/2009 17:55

Err, yes we've had Shaun on too

Nice to see you earlier Sfx/Tilly - sorry to bail out early but good job we did as Ds1 feell asleep within minutes of getting in teh car and then asked to sleep in his bed when we got hom for another 2hrs He had a bit of fever but is better now he's eaten something. Let's hope it's not the growth of permanant upper teeth round the corner

Kew - can totally empathise with eye, I had similar cornea damage a few yrs back but hadto stay in dark rm for 48hrs and then wear shades when out for a week, I also felt a prat with the shades on!

MrsR - well done DD, great news

Auntie - have a fab hols!

DH going to stag do tom so having nothing more adventurous planned for wkend other than taking DS1 sandal shopping
