I needed to catch up on sleep

Ds1 has got a place at the nursery school we wanted. My priest harrassment seems to have done the trick

slng · 22/05/2009 12:30

Well done tilly! If you can't harass priests I don't know who you can harass.

SJ99 · 22/05/2009 14:03

hello all

Well done Tilly, what a relief! Enjoy the wedding, pity we won't see you tonight.

Despite lovely weather decided against Kew as DS1 was quite tired after preschool.

Thanks for advice on potty training. Alas the traditional approaches no clothes/stickers don't seem to work with DS. He knows what to do with toilet/potty but is scared to use it. Taking his clothes off actually makes him more self conscious and less likely to go. He lost interest in stickers quite quickly! I will have to be more creative in enticing him He always has struggled with the basics in life eating/sleeping etc but other more advanced stuff seems to come easily to him.

Slng - I didn't think anyone actually liked the taste of RB, they just drank it for the effects!

sfxmum · 22/05/2009 15:12

tilly that is great news hope you have anice weekend, am sure we will manage a meet up soon, thinking alfresco dining for the super summer we are about to have

SJ I am sure ds will get it sorted it seems he just needs to decide and is the way and its sorted

No problem sfx. I hope dd is ok, it was quite hot last night. Dh was laughing at your dd blaming the MPs - he can't believe she's only 3!

Lovely meeting you muesli - hope dp isn't too traumatized from ds' crying last night. Great catching up with everyone else as well.

Going to seaside now via second viewing on house.

SJ99 · 23/05/2009 11:29

Nice to see you all last night, felt like I'd been released from my prison sentance

DS2 did wake up but DH was proud he managed to settle him without having to call me

Hope minisfx is feeling better

Mellow - hope you're feeling better too

SJ99 · 23/05/2009 11:30

Good luck for viewing MrsR

mygreatauntgriselda · 23/05/2009 14:09

Am I the only one with a hangover then?

sfxmum · 23/05/2009 15:50

I think you might be auntie

SJ&mrsR dd is a but better thanks
I had a hair appointment this morning and dh had to work so he stayed with her for a bit then took her to the library where I met then and took over, she looked tired but we went over to Kew for a bite to eat then home
she is now curled up on the sofa and I am reading the papre and drinking coffee

mrsR dd is a week short of her 4th birthday.
last ight when she woke up feeling a bit feverish she went on about the MP's and the 'nasty moths' from Kew, clearly on her mind

Hello all!

Had a very nice evening last night. Good to see everybody!

MrsR - thanks for the lift. How was the viewing? Hope you have nice weather down south! It's very nice here.

Aunty - I don't have a hangover. The trick is to talk too much so you don't have time to drink! And a lie-in the next day helps too...

Going to make Thai beef salad for tea, inspired by the outing.

sfxmum · 23/05/2009 20:36

Kew the person we talked about did adopt a girl in 1990

sushi here is the day folk event I mentioned

dd has been on/off running a fever just hope she sleeps well and is better in the morning

OP posts:
vbus · 24/05/2009 07:56

Slng - lie in how did you manage that? DS1 awoke at 6am today and then promptly woke up DS2, grrr, can you tell I'm not a morning person?!

I just found out via an accidental slip up on a FB comment that SIL is pregnant, isn't FB great for that Although DH is a little put out that we weren't told first hand

poor minisfx, hope fever is on it's way out, does she have a bug? Good find re: tokens!

Auntie - hope you've recovered by now!

Off to Food Show today, thanks again COV for the tickets

Enjoy the sun everyone

vbus · 24/05/2009 08:05

Oh yes I decided to try a new name!

slng · 24/05/2009 08:48

vbus - who are you!?

Swapped lie-in with DH, so on morning duty today. Had pancake rolled up with coconut jam for breakfast. Yum!

Now must check out cbeebies programs ...

slng · 24/05/2009 08:51

Brum is on!

vbus are you SJ?

mygreatauntgriselda · 24/05/2009 14:43

slng · 24/05/2009 19:28

Hello!

Had a very nice day at MIL's being fed lots of food. Hope everyone enjoys the good weather!

vbus - is that a you've-got-it-right wink or a that's-what-you-think wink?

mygreatauntgriselda · 24/05/2009 20:01
Grin
AnotherMuesliPleaseBarman · 24/05/2009 22:48

vbus - did you get the Hampton Court tickets from SJ then?

Lovely to meet everyone the other night. Sfx / slng - sorry we didn't get to speak. Hopefully next time!

Arrived home to find DP worn out and depressed-looking. He said he 'didn't cope very well'. It all started to go wrong when he tried to fit DS into his grobag through the top head/shoulders hole, which was a bit of an awkward squeeze, I think. Poor little mite. It was only afterwards that DP realised that there was a side zip. Doh. I'd even tried to explain how the grobag fastened before I left but he said 'yeah yeah, I'll manage, don't worry..'. Aren't men supposed to be practical and logical??? Anyway, that experience left both of them traumatised; DS wouldn't take much of the expressed milk I left, and apparently cried and cried and couldn't be settled. So DP took him for a walk around the block in the dark! Came home to find pram carrycot on top of our bed, with DS asleep in it . It's been quite a while since I left the two of them together for an evening. Better start doing it more regularly!

This weather is fab. Walked around Marble Hill House area by river today - lovely! Also did a really good and thorough baby massage, as for once wasn't worried about DS getting chilly. I think he deserved a treat after the other night!

vbus · 25/05/2009 09:51

Slng - yes you got it right, I had to change name for similar reason that Auntie had to change hers. Anyway Hampton court food festival was fab, we met a few of the chefs there too as well as sampling lots of yummy food! Then had bbq last night as friend came round

Museli - at least Dh manged to get him to sleep. I guess next time he'll have more confidence

Off to a party soon but hope weather holds out as it's meant to be in a playground

hope everyone enjoying BH

mygreatauntgriselda · 25/05/2009 14:44

Spendng my BH doing a mega clear out of kids rooms . Mind you at least I can play music while I do it
