SFX glad you had lovely hols in France - love those croissants for breakfast YUM

have you got your name down for an allotment?

Slng - v impressed with your gardening skills

SJ99 · 11/05/2009 13:31

Hello all

Sfx - hols sound fab, will check out your pics later. Bless your french speaking DD

Mellow - that must be really tough being without DD for a week, hope new nanny works out well

Tilly - sounds tough, how are you doing?

Slng - can't wait for your salad party good for you planting your own veg

Hada lovely weekend after a tough week. finally got to the hairdressers. On the way I went into a gallery in Teddington which I'd never seen before, (formerly public loos !), they are just starting art classes so I may sign up. Haven't painted for 4yrs so would love to get back into it. Had a lovely day out with some friends at Bushy park parade yesterday, great weather for it. DS1 loved all the cars/tanks and rides!

tillyfernackerpants · 11/05/2009 17:47

Hi all,

Sfx, glad you had a good week. Training progressing, though am still doing run/walk training plan! I think next week I move onto 10min runs. I would like to do a 10k tbh but will see how this goes first!

Slng, garden sounds lovely. I've planted seeds this year but nothing seems to be growing. Think it may have something to do with ds1 digging around where we've planted!

Mellow, good luck with the nanny. How's the job going?

Auntie, it is a Sun holiday!! They are such a bargain!

MrsR, thanks for the invite but we're booked 31 August, will you still be there? Its the Park resort btw

Ds2 has started eating! Though atm he still doesn't seem too sure of what he's meant to be doing

mellow2 · 11/05/2009 20:52

Tilly - Job is going okay. Thanks for asking.

Dd enjoyed playing with nanny today. I came back to a tidy house so we're both happy campers.

AnotherMuesliPleaseBarman · 11/05/2009 22:23

Hey SJ, is that the very modern-looking, newly built gallery by the round-about? We were at the Chestnut Sunday parade too - loved those Victorian bicycles, though it all seemed to be over much quicker this year..

Kew - thanks for the moisturising tip . Will try out this week once I have some castor oil.

DS had his first Monkey Music try-out. He didn't know what was going on, but seemed vaguely entertained so may sign up. I put a ridiculous gold spangly hat with fluffy pom pom on him during the 'what shall we be today?' hat song, so at least I was amused.

It's my birthday today, so have just polished off a delicious Tangawizi take-away. Mmmmm....LOVE their food!

MrsRecycle · 12/05/2009 07:22

Happy birthday museli for yesterday!

Glad all went well with the Nanny/job mellow - I must admit I used to love coming home to a tidy house when I had one - really takes the stress off the day.

We'll be there the 31st Tilly for a few days until the LOs have to start school (whenever that is!). We might even be in our new house by then.

We put the offer in (based on current value) and he was expecting to get back the money he paid for it in 2005! I think they're all in cloud cuckoo land down there - are they not aware that house prices are at 2004 levels? Any way estate agent seems to be getting through to him and hopefully I might have some good news at the end of the week.

Sfx LOL at dd coming back through customs - she is such a personality isn't she - I think her an ds could do a double act when they're older - he keeps on diverting my attention, taking my chocolate and saying "where chocolate gone mummy?".

Sj - hope you get back into your hobby - it's nice having an escape from the lo's every now and then (says she who hasn't got back into hers for 10 years!).

sfxmum · 12/05/2009 11:22

hello all, bit windy out finally dragged myself out to carry on training after nearly 2wk break

museli belated happy birthday, at ours dh was the one going to Monkey music, dd enjoyed it for a while

SJ lovely to get back to things you enjoy doing, hope you get decent d
stretches of time for it

tilly that is great I need the incentive[wink[

mrsR lol at ds what a tease

auntie apparently the waiting lists for allotments are still closed, I think the current only option is a shared plot sort of communal gardening, will keep waiting and calling them regularly, this feels like the sort of thing you need to know someone who knows someone

am a little behind with my course but I guess it is to be expected
dd was reluctant to go back to nursery this morning but seemed ok when I left

OP posts:
sfxmum · 12/05/2009 11:23

and mellow glad to hear the nanny and dd had a good start

OP posts:
SJ99 · 12/05/2009 11:30

Morning all

MrsR - LOL at your DS, so cute!

Museli - Happy Belated Birthday. Yes that is the gallery, I never noticed it until they stopped the roadworks. DS liked the music bugs class but he was 2yrs when we went

Sfx - I noticed they had plots at Bushy park for students, you could qualify, may be worth looking into to...

Tilly - good luck with weaning, I'd forgotten how messy the whole process can be

Mellow - that's such a bonus coming home to a tidy house

Well I've bitten the bullet and signed up for classes, I'm soooooooooo excited Now I just need to go in to the attic and hunt down all my art stuff May have to delegate that task to DH

SJ99 · 12/05/2009 11:34

vote now!

sfxmum · 12/05/2009 12:02

am quite amused that an MP claimed expenses to clean his moat LOL
how the other half live

OP posts:
mygreatauntgriselda · 12/05/2009 13:16

Clean his moat around his castle?

Tilly love those Sun hols, cheap and always great fun with loads for the kids. We've got a Somerset one in couple of weeks yippee

So cute about DS2 eating food - how many toothypegs does he have now?

We went to a friends 50th on Saturday and dtasyed up until 1am dancing (with the kids) was great but suffering sleep deprivation now. Meant to go to bed early Sunday, but dropped one of DD's friends home after a party and ended up sitting with the Mum until really late, polishing off a bottle of wine and gossiping

Am just about to write to Karren Brady to ask her to speak at a work conference. Hope she can do it - She's FAB!

Can't wait to see you all at the meet up

tillyfernackerpants · 12/05/2009 17:39

Auntie, ds2 has no teeth yet! There do seem to be a few just under the suface but none have broken through yet!

Ds1 has conjunctivitis. He's fine, but can't go to nursery tomorrow

slng · 12/05/2009 20:01

Hello!

Vaguely heard the moat MP explaining about moat cleaning, but not interested enough to actually listen ... In a perverse way I'd rather they cheat in a bigger way than cat food and toilet rolls. You'd think they could do better than that ...

Aunty - I'm exhausted without the late night. At least you had some fun ... Can't wait to go out window shopping on Saturday. Feel like I haven't had a break since God created heaven and earth and the weather.

Tilly - poor DS1. DS1 and DS2 went through a phase of getting conjunctivitis almost continuously one summer. It's not nice. Hope it clears up quickly.

How is it possible to have a caterpillar chewing through my one and only basil leave indoors?

slng · 12/05/2009 20:02

basil leaf, though it might just leave too ...

pcworld · 12/05/2009 20:49

Evening, All! Hope everyone is well. Tilly, conjunctivitis is a pain - hopefully some eyedrops will sort it out pdq. At this end, ds seems to have caught a horrid cold. Have had a couple of bad nights, ho hum.

Mellow - how is the job going? Hope all house stuff ok too - same for you, Mrs R, it's sounding promising this time and am keeping everything crossed for you.

SFX, how was le holiday? Hope you had a fab time despite illness.

Looking forward to our trip away although NOT the flight. Even though it's just a domestic flight, it is sure to be hell as ds is a rather "free spirit", shall we say. dd was always no trouble at all on the plane but we have a rather different scenario second time round! I'll be self-medicating with gin at the other end

mellow2 · 12/05/2009 21:12

MrsR - Hope all goes well with the house buying. Though I have to say we're working on Summer 06 prices here for our onward purchase. Ditto price our buyer is paying for the flat.

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. I don't think dd has shown the nanny her true colours yet. They went food shopping today and nanny said she was good as gold. Not. She grabs things off every shelf she walks past, even cat food because she likes the look of the cat on the tin and we don't own a cat.

Job is exhausting, really heavy workload but thankfully relatively interesting (as interesting as government work can be).

mellow2 · 12/05/2009 21:12

And hope all the LOs feel better soon.

MrsRecycle · 13/05/2009 07:07

Mellow glad work is interesting and busy, I'd rather it that way, at least the day goes quick. We sold ours at 06 prices as well but London is more fluid compared to the south east. There hasn't been a sale of a detatched house in Rye since august last year. I'm not surprised when the prices haven't gone down in a year. Plus the stamp duty threshold triples if you pay £1 over £250k - they seem to be completely unaware of this. Only one more day (I hope).

MrsRecycle · 13/05/2009 07:13

Meant to say pcw - like your travelling strategy! Hope ds is feeling better soon.

Tilly dd2 used to suffer all the time with conjunctivitis, frustrating that they can't go to nursery isn't it? In the end, I pulled her out and sent her to a cm and she never had a day off after that.

slng · 13/05/2009 09:35

Good morning!

Hope everyone is well!

I ordered some crafty things online yesterday morning and they arrived this morning! Is that good or what? It's www.moonstonecrafts.co.uk in case anyone feels crafty too.

SJ99 · 13/05/2009 10:59

Morning all

Well, DS2 has a few spots on him today, CP round 2, aaarggghhh Typically DH is away Thur-Sun as he's doing the 3 peaks challenge. I better stock up on choc & DVD's

Tilly - Hope DS is not suffering too badly and gets better soon.

Mellow - good to hear nanny & job going well

PCW - Hope DS feel better soon too. DS1 was also a challenge on flights as he too was such a wriggle bottom, I swear I used to wear out the carpets walking up and down the ailses. I used to buy a few small toys/book which I'd strategically give him throughout the trip which tended to keep him occupied. Also stretched out flight/airport time with little snacks. Good luck

Auntie - that would be great to meet KB, hope she repsonds

Slng - website looks good. Now I know here to get my supplies for me art class

sfxmum · 13/05/2009 11:52

good morning all

SJ yes choc DVD's and phone handy for a good moan, hope it is not too rough

tilly hope things are improving

pcW have not yet plucked up the courage to take dd on a plane, mostly because I would be on my on because dh needs heavy sedation of any sort available
hope the night was ok

dd now has a sort of mantra every time she coughs or sneezes, she says softly 'germs germs are off off off' no idea where she got that from

auntie that should be interesting although of all the women around the one I really would love to meet is
Camila of kidsco
now I feel better as I have pretty much caught up on my study and looking at the tutor groups I seem not to be behing on my online work, huge relief but have my first essay due in a couple of weeks
