Slng - just realised we have no festive paper either (forgot to order sme from the school...drat!!)

MaSTARRecycle · 08/12/2008 13:00

oh no Griselda, must be something in the air - ds was a horror this morning as well (being woken up by dd2 didn't help). Sorry couldn't make it Kew, ds was actually ok on Saturday, just dd2 that was ill - decided to have a hot chocolate with milk when she knows she's lactose intollerant. When will she learn?

slng - top tip, get a bit box, fill it up with Christsmas stuff (wrapping paper, tags, presents) through out the year, you never run out of it - says she who can't find the big box - hopefully its in the loft with the decorations.

Two weeks to Tenerife !

MaSTARRecycle · 08/12/2008 13:00

Woolies - very cheap at the moment!

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 08/12/2008 13:42

at Tenerife!!! MrsR

slng · 08/12/2008 14:39

at the Fat Toddler.

sparklyxmasfairy · 08/12/2008 15:14

I have the most fantastical garish Christmas tree dd has very strong opinions on how much sparkle it should have - as much as possible

LOL@ toddler terror

MaSTARRecycle · 08/12/2008 15:24

so you are the sparkliest Xmas fairy then

sparklyxmasfairy · 08/12/2008 15:26

mini sparkle is sparkliest

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 08/12/2008 16:11

I like your name Fairy

I bet your tree is very pink and fluffy isn't it?

We were driving home last night and DD said: "Are we back in England yet?"

stepfordwife · 08/12/2008 18:36

ahem...what's so bad about the thought of a date with me, sparkly and kew, pray do tell...

stepfordwife · 08/12/2008 18:44

...or are you trying, oh-so-tactfully, to tell me my company is best diluted, eh? eh?

hope everyone well

don't worry, sushi, it all gets too mad at this time of year, doesn't it?
i reckon i've done more (unpaid) work for the school than my own work for the past few weeks....

quite hankering for a stress-in-the-sun family christmas with in-laws in oz to escape it all

sparkly, tree sounds delightful
auntie..well, mayhem is top of the toddler CV!

right, better wake dd up..she fell asleep an hour ago and, madness i know, let her sleep so could make some phone calls..
yes, yes, i know, i'll pay for it......

sparklyxmasfairy · 09/12/2008 09:39

good morning all

hope all are well, s Ros holding child I wonder?hope to manage to persuade dd to go running around Kew but is already protesting saying only if we stay in the palm house

btw glad you all like the name it is a transition one I think

slng · 09/12/2008 09:56

Good morning!

I cannot believe it - DS1's school has just postponed the Christmas concert without notice. DH has taken the morning off as well. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE ????? I am (almost) speechless.

SJ99 · 09/12/2008 11:12

Morning all

Auntie - LOl at Fat toddler's antics , he's keeping you on your toes eh?

Slng - seems to be bad form, have you found out why they cancelled yet?

MrsR - enjoy Tenerife

Sfx - like new name too, v. festive

Kew - will try and make it to the next hot date for Mamma Mia

PCworld - sorry to hear about your loss

Steppie - so what time did Dd get to bed then, hope not too late for your sake

All going well here, DS2 jaundice seems to be fading & he's defo more alert. he nearly rolled today , no way I'm leaving him on changing table alone

MaSTARRecycle · 09/12/2008 11:13

welcome to the World of school scheduling slng. I have lost count of the amount of days I have taken off (unpaid) only for them to be cancelled 10 minutes before. Can't you pull a sickie and ds1 and dh have some quality time together.

slng · 09/12/2008 11:39

MrsR - christmas concert postponed once already. Somehow christmas has crept up on them and there was not enough time to prepare. I shall refrain from expressing my true opinion on this. I'm contemplating DS1 going AWOL on the day of the concert now. The science museum on a weekday is always very attractive. Can a nativity play go ahead without Joseph? Or is the escalation not worth it?

sparklyxmasfairy · 09/12/2008 11:46

they can turn it into a morality play about feckless fathers and they say and look how the baby turned out, life as an outsider death penalty etc.

is that blasphemy?

slng · 09/12/2008 11:50

I would like to f**king blaspheme right now, that's for sure.

MaSTARRecycle · 09/12/2008 12:49

Joseph - no wonder your dh took a day off. With all the bugs that are going around at this time of year, they "normally" have understudies available. Science Museum sounds wonderful. dds always through a sickie around Christmas and go to London with dh to visit one of the attractions. Think they are going to the Tower this year.

sj - glad things are going really well with ds2. I remember ds rolled at about 6 weeks - off the sofa onto the floor. He still likes jumping off the sofa now.

slng · 09/12/2008 18:15

MrsR - DS1 is already Joseph Mark 2. Joseph Mark 1 is going on holiday. In fact Joseph Mark 2 might just go missing for the occasion. Cannot attend birth of his child because no more days off to be booked because of being messed about by stupid institution who can use a computer to write letters with lots of colours on but cannot get letters to people.

DS2's nursery is shut because they have mouse infestation.

I ask you.

Probably go to Kew gardens tomorrow morning with DS2. Any takers? Will it be cold? Or perhaps the science museum would be warmer...

pcworld · 09/12/2008 18:15

A quick hello from a sick bunyan and a sick ds The poor little thing is very off colour and out of sorts. dd has taken advantage of an obscene amount of tv today! SJ glad all going well. Off now to supervise dd hairwash, can hear that things are not going well upstairs and dh needs a hand

sparklyxmasfairy · 09/12/2008 19:58

sj good to know things are going well

pcw sorry to hear of poorly status

slng no kew for us tomorrow as it is nursery morning

dd seems out of sorts today spent some time resting on the sofa then has clung to dh's neck since he came in even during dinner he is now settling her in for the night

mellow2 · 09/12/2008 22:11

Sorry to hear about all the illnesses. Hope all the LOs feel better soon.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I had a really nice birthday today. Dh took the day off and we went to dd's Christmas "concert".

I also had my favourite birthday lunch - oysters with champers.

xmasfairy,
When did I tell you I was a Harvey Nicks fan? Now that I know how polluted fashion manufacturing is, I feel really guilty when I buy anything at HN. But I do get tempted occassionally. The suki stuff has arrived today. I'll give you a call tomorrow.
