KC wii might be fun, can't she pay your mortgage for a month then? am very practical minded

pc sorry about your bereavement hope the trip back home goes as well as possible and you feel better soon -

mellow2 · 04/12/2008 13:08

Hi everyone,

After posting that I was getting better, I had yet another relapse on Thursday last week. I'm starting to feel a little better again.

Kew,
I'm afraid I'm going to have to bow out of Satuday as I wouldn't want to give anyone my killer cold. Have fun!

Kew,
I agree that charity present for a child is a little odd. I tried getting my MIL to give me a charity present last year. She wasn't having any of it.

Kewcumber · 04/12/2008 13:11

poor DS has perforated ear-drum...

mellow2 · 04/12/2008 13:34

Oh dear . He might have had the same cold we're having. Dh thinks he has a perforated ear drum. He has lost hearing in one ear.

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 04/12/2008 13:36

he'd know if he had a perforated ear drum - he would be crying with pain or close to it if he is very manly.

Losing hearing in one ear during a cold isn;t that uncommon for me as I tend to get gunk in my eustacian tubes - tell him to try sudafed and tkae it regularly but not just beofre bedtime.

mellow2 · 04/12/2008 13:43

Thanks Kew. I'll let dh know.

sparklyxmasfairy · 04/12/2008 14:19

poor gherkin

dd's leg is apparently also in need of elevation and ice

sorry mellow hope you all feel better soon

mellow2 · 04/12/2008 15:49

xmasfairy,
What's wrong with dd's leg?

OP posts:
sparklyxmasfairy · 04/12/2008 16:02

nothing wrong with her leg sorry for misunderstanding she has been watching me doing it and insist she must do it as well

slng · 04/12/2008 17:33

Kew - oh no poor ds

Charity present for small child We are getting the ikea reflective vest. Endless hours of tearing about the place pretending to be firemen. Excellent value for £2.93 or something like that. (Don't tell DSs.)

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 04/12/2008 20:19

Kew - poor DS - my DS1 had infected ears for years and his eardrums burst several times - he was in a lot of pain Its horrible for them

Children are so brave aren't they?

Still need to consult DH about Saturday...

Agree its inappropriate to buy charity donations for a child's gift

My sister always insists on buying my DCs clothes - they don't need clothes as they have too many already and their poor little faces are alwsy disappointed - except DD who never has enough party dresses

ps. can I come and play on your WII?

I went to dentist today to have my root canal filled but it is still infected

Did I name drop mention that I met Rght Hon Tony McNulty Minister for Employment & Welfare Reform on Monday? - he came to visit our company and I did a presentation for him about one of our projects

He's a big scruffy bear of an Irishman

rosmerta · 05/12/2008 06:57

Kew, poor ds . Also agree charity gift not appropriate for young children.

We did have a Wii but ended up selling it to our nephew as it never got played. They are quite good fun but only if you have the time for them.

My mum & dad are coming down today, thank god. Last couple of days I've had a really bad cough and my chest & throat have been really painful. They're going to look after ds for a bit so I can get some more rest.

sparklyxmasfairy · 05/12/2008 09:25

good morning all

ros hope you feel better soon, can't be comfortable at this stage

MrsRecycle · 05/12/2008 12:28

oh Ros poor you - hope you get some well-earned rest and don't go into labour.

Kew sorry to hear about ds, must be awful for him.

Sparkie - I'm off to see dentist next week for the Inman fitting.

pcworld (just worked out who you are doh!) sorry to hear about your sad news.

Not sure if I can make tomorrow Kew - ds isn't too well at the moment and wants lots of "uggs" (as he calls it!).

House move plodding along slooooowly am some minor problems that can be sorted (for a price!).

rosmerta · 05/12/2008 13:41

MrsR, thanks, I'm hoping I get better before going into labour too! Btw, thanks for the tip about the washing machine. I found the panel you were talking about, removing some plastic & a screw seems to have sorted it out!

MrsRecycle · 05/12/2008 15:51

oh that's brilliant Ros - glad it worked. I'll send you my bill in the post

AtheneNoctua · 05/12/2008 16:14

Hi everyone. A week ago I had this grand ambition to keep up with this thread. But I have once again failed the task. Today, I signed my new contract for the new job. I have put in a phone call to my boss to call me back today. She has 4 more minutes until I send the resignation on e-mail. I'm in a pinch to resign today so I can start with the new company on their preferred date.

I am thrilled. Absolutely thrilled.

I'm sorry I haven't been able to read and catch up. I suppose the Christmas night in is still planned for tomorrow? Pity, cause I would love to come but really can't swing tomorrow. But if the date changes, can someone tip me off on e-mail and I'll try to come.

BTW, MrsR, I'm at a loss as to who PCworld is.

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 05/12/2008 18:16

QC I think Steppy and are both coming to yours tomorrow!!

Is it just us three? We'll be like the witches of Eastwick!

Hoe is DS today BTW?Is he on ABs?

Have no idea who sparky or PCworld are!

Dissappointed to se that no one is impressed by my name dropping!

MrsR - just to warn you the inman is painful a first but settles after about a week

MrsRecycle · 05/12/2008 19:23

I thought sparkly was you auntie! Thanks for letting me know to expect pain wasn't expecting it.

Pcworld has the same name as me - does that help? I hope it's her! Mind you it's taken me 6 weeks to work out that the woman I sit opposite to at work didn't start life out that way!
AN - how did it go handing your notice in? Are you on the champers?

sparklyxmasfairy · 05/12/2008 19:54
