Anothe ridiculously early start for me !

Kew, wish I could make it to yours tonight but really not up for it & wouldn't want to pass this lurgy onto everyone.

Athene, congratulations on the new job. Did you manage to resign in time?

sparklyxmasfairy · 06/12/2008 07:38

oh ros hope you manage to have a quiet day today with plenty of rest

good morning all

AtheneNoctua · 06/12/2008 09:20

Morning everyone. The resignation went well. I called myu boss, but she didn't call back within a couple of hours and I was down to wire to resign on Friday in order to meet the preferred start date at the new company. So I sent her an e-mail. Got a reply last night to say she was sorry I was leaving and let's get together to review next week. This is my corporate boss and the one on the project to whom I referred ear earlier in my "Dear Fuckwit" comments. I was really looking forward to telling him I was leaving, but then he up and resigned before I did so that sort of stole my fire.

Anyway I am very happy about this move. 'tis the perfect Christmas present.

Think I'll crack open some champers tonight and celebrate.

I just feel soooooo very . And it confirms that leaving was absolutely the right thing to do.

Sorry I can't come round to yours tonight, Kew. I do so hate to miss a night out!

AtheneNoctua · 06/12/2008 09:22

correction:

This is my corporate boss and not the one on the project to whom I referred..

sparklyxmasfairy · 06/12/2008 12:35

Sparkly who are you???

I was probably ferrying them to their swims - followed by ferrying DD to a party, followed by delivering 200 Advent leaflets for the Kew churches Halo

Athene - well done on liberaing yourself and going for a new job

So how was last night?

KewcumbersRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 07/12/2008 20:20

last night was cancelled due to lack of interest to be rescheduled after Xmas. It was down to Steppie and I and as sfx pointed out to me - thats just a little too like a date!

Have been a good girl and MammaMia is still in its cellophane

KewcumbersRoastingOnAnOpenFire · 07/12/2008 20:21

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 07/12/2008 20:45

AtheneNoctua · 08/12/2008 09:15

Oh, great. I mean... sorry you had to cancel. But, maybe I can make the new date.

SushiMummy · 08/12/2008 09:19

QC et al - I am sooooo sorry about Saturday - I completely forgot to ring/text you. We went to DS's friend's birthday party in the afternoon and I was so tired and fell asleep on the sofa... There's no execuse for my bad manner but I've been v busy at work, working long hours and meeting after meeting, I suppose my memory went overflown... Please accept my sincere apologies. Pretty please.

Hope you are all well.

slng · 08/12/2008 11:52

Morning all!

Hope everyone is well.

Shame the meet-up didn't go ahead but hopefully can make the next one. My Saturday shopping trip was quite fun - whole pm in Westfield! But only bought a couple of things ... Perhaps I'm not so used to these kind of shopping places now. More of a Woolworth/wilkinson/poundstretcher type these days ...

sparklyxmasfairy · 08/12/2008 12:04

hello all

sushi don't think it was your fault we all seemed to be particularly tired unsurprisingly with Christmas approaching and colds aplenty

hi slng I appear to have done most of my shopping online and it is all here bar a few things I will have to go to the shops for, huge relief

have been wrapping presents this morning with my little helper, our tree should go up today, so lots of play for dd

hope everyone is well

slng · 08/12/2008 12:30

I have a few more non-christmassy type things to buy ... DS1 wants to buy something for DS2. I have imposed some conditions on that, mainly that it shall have to be something DS2 likes, and that there shall be no grumbling if DS2 refuses to "share" it.

I have been assured, falsely, that we have plenty of wrapping paper. One more thing for the shopping list. Also must fix holey Santa swag bag...

mygreatauntgriselda4christmas · 08/12/2008 12:49

"impaled" not "empailed"

The Fat Toddler is completely wrecking our house today

He has raided the jaffa cakes, spread Vicks vapour rub all over himself, produced the mother of all smelly nappies, climbed onto the cooker, emptied the dish washer, emptied a food cupboard and peeled two tangarines to spread the juicy, pithy contents all over the computer room. In fact I just sat down to check this thread and felt a dap patch under my bum. I stood up to find several segments of tangerine hanging from my trousers , which he had kindly left on the seat of the chair!!

Hi Sushi - dn't feel bad - we are all a bit knackered ATM - too much to do bfore Xmas
