sfxmum · 04/08/2008 10:50

so was Otis

it was one of the stupidest articles ever devolving Toni onto Cameron all perfectly vile must read another paper pronto

Kewcumber · 04/08/2008 10:51

I find the Metro is about my level and easy on teh pocket

Kewcumber · 04/08/2008 10:51

Big Bill Bailey fan too - but I bet it was difficult to get in to see them and not sure how ken DS will be Suspect I will be in the childrens arena most of the weekend!

sfxmum · 04/08/2008 10:57

the theatre & cinema & literary/ poetry & comedy areas are all very good Ross Noble was a riot, almost literally, this year
the music seems almost incidental

I like a few writers in the Observer so I keep buying used to get the Telegraph on Sunday as well but often it just looks like Tatler, come to think of it so does The Observer these days

maybe stick to online stuff

Paddlechick666 · 04/08/2008 11:08

Bill Bailey was fabulous once they sorted out the sound. Luckily for me dd dropped off 5 mins after he came on and slept thru the whole performance. We got our spec at 1pm and he came on a 3:30 tho

BTW, sorry missed your call but it came up as blocked and I don't answer them. Was at Kew with SFX which was great as got us out of the house and made me feel a bit better.

Felt like crap as soon as got home tho and still feeling pretty jaded today.

Kewcumber · 04/08/2008 11:16

DS never drops off to sleep though - wihtout the assitance of a mallet. Made the mistake of giving him a late'ish nap yesterday so he didn't sleep until 9.30pm.

stepfordwife · 04/08/2008 11:26

hello all

2cute - how you doing today? have you managed to make any phone calls?

love rich hall, like bill bailey. quite tempted by latitude next year, too.

paddle, hope you feel better soon.

looks like carnage - literally! - in kitchen as ds2 and dd managed to spill a bottle of red food dye all over kitchen floor...ye gods, it's impossible to get out of
a)floorboards
b) our hands!
good job floor will be getting ripped up soon as - roll of drums - we have a starting date for building work - august 15. aRRRRRaaaggghhhhh! exciting, tho.

mrsR...didn't use your builder in the end..but please don't tell him as want to email him and others so hear it from me first...such a polite stepfordwife, don'tcha know?
he was out of my league - budget wise and looks wise

stepfordwife · 04/08/2008 11:28

talking of building work, has anyone got any packing boxes we can borrow, btw?
need to pack up kitchen and 2 back rooms, and they'll be in storage for 10-12 weeks...if building keeps to schedule, that is...
toodlepip

Kewcumber · 04/08/2008 11:45

sorry no packing boxes but the big yellow storage company aropund the corner may rent some to you. alternatively

stepfordwife · 04/08/2008 11:59

thanks, kew, those crates look interesting. think we're going for curry's storage as got good offer on at mo.

noe to self: do not leave packing until last minute as is my wont.
have sent you an email

sfxmum · 04/08/2008 12:10

steppie sorry no boxes, now sister ordered a big box/ trailer type, the company dropped it at her door she packed it then they collected and stored it, then delivered when needed.
can ask name if needed
shudder at he thought of building work for 12 wks

paddle dd talked about all the arguments she had with mini pads the declared she had a great time eve bit stressed but woke up feeling better

dd now doing dishes in sink, dh introduced her to its delights on Saturday
kitchen will need mopping soon, she likes that too

stepfordwife · 04/08/2008 12:56

no worries, sfx..
funny how they love cleaning and mopping up at that age, isn't it?
i reckon dd makes a big mess just for the joy of clearing/cleaning up

Kewcumber · 04/08/2008 13:00

don;t tell me the cleaning/mopping is a phase Was banking on DS earning his pocket money in a few years...

Its the "mixing" that does my head in. DS cannot be in the same room as two glasses or liquid wihtout "mixing" them. Of course no perception that there is too much in one glass to fit in the empty space of the other glass. Its doing my head in...

sfxmum · 04/08/2008 13:08

dd is now eating her lunch one little piece of macaroni at a time, glad it is covered in hidden veg tomato sauce
or yesterday leftover ratatouille

Paddlechick666 · 04/08/2008 13:44

lol sfx, i am making macaroni cheese again here. been a week of major cooking for some weird reason.

i have discovered where "stupid mummy" has come from today. apparently a boy pushed dd at kew last week and said "stupid girl". dd was quite horrified so Grandma says "never mind, he's just a stupid boy"

DM has 'fessed up and apologised and is she told dd that. I think it's quite amusing tho.

still feeling a bit grotty but thanks for well wishes. £140 new exhaust hasn't helped tho

think the alternator is on it's way out too!

mellow2 · 04/08/2008 15:03

2cute,

Sorry the grandparents are giving you such a hard time.

I echo what the others say and agree you need to fight back.

Paddlechick666 · 04/08/2008 16:36

agent confirmed the viewing didn't happen on saturday

sfxmum · 04/08/2008 16:38

extremely bored today and not quite getting it together am packing bag and going swimming in the morning no matter what
this being stuck at home mulling over stuff just makes me crazy

and deep breaths

Kewcumber · 04/08/2008 16:38

thast a bummer - are you around for lunch this week? I'm off for two weeks after this week - anyone up for playing next week?

sfxmum · 04/08/2008 16:39

Paddlechick666 · 04/08/2008 16:40

Paddlechick666 · 04/08/2008 16:40

sfxmum · 04/08/2008 16:45

oh paddle what a pain, guess it is the market thingy putting people off

  • can you tell I am knowledgeable on the subject?

KC always keen to have good company

Kewcumber · 04/08/2008 16:54

lets oncil in Thursday then and you can change your mind later if nec.

Lets plan somethign nice for next week then... I wonder what the weather is forecast for?

sillybigsausage · 04/08/2008 19:07

Kew- we're around next Mon and Weds

What's wrong with the Observer BTW (far less embarassing than some of the newspapers I buy )?

I bought the Express today to read the article about £2 a night hols in Turkey and Cyprus

Paddle - how are you and mini-pads now?

Steppy et al - I'd like to do Latitude next year - I didnt realise its was a Literary fest - assumed it was just music - shows how completely out of touch I am eh?

BTW DS2 gave me a KISS - a proper kiss!!!

First he practiced on the bedroom door, then he did one on his hand just to get it right, thn he marched up - put his arms round my neck and KISSED me on the cheek
