stepfordwife · 01/08/2008 10:51

...oohhh, when you say his tummy do you mean you know the baby's boy flavour????or just talking generally?
glad scan was OK.

itsmyparty · 01/08/2008 10:58

Ros - only a Mum could start a conversation by aying "Well, we had a good day potty-wise today" LOL. I presume you were referring to DS and not some pregnancy related incontinence

Paddle are you doing the single jas with Dr H?

Remind me I must get DS2 measled soon...

Is going to Latitude an aspiration of the middle classes the?

itsmyparty · 01/08/2008 10:59

feck this useless keyboard

susiecutiebananas · 01/08/2008 11:10

Morning all, and thank you for all being so kind.

MrsR, we wet to my sister's, she lives in Aylesford ,not from the village. We wet for lunch at the Friary, which we always seem to do. Tis lovely there though. Got chased by enormous flock/gaggle of various types of geese.

I had one butting me with its huge bill and sis had one attatch itself to her hand. Then one laid an egg as it was walking- we decided it was probably the most embarrassing thing you could do if you were a goose...

About the AS diagnoses, it was a huge relief to me when he was diagnosed. I had him tested. I just knew that what he did was not deliberate, I knew he was not a nasty, unkind man. Not deliberately. He does have some ownership over what he does, of course, but much of it is just alien to him, and not deliberate. If it were, or I ever felt it was, i'd certainly not stay with him. So knowing it was not all personal, not deliberate, mostly impossible to change, actually made it all easier to deal with. MAny neuropsychologists actually call Aspergers 'Extreme Male Brain Syndrome' which explains it all really so many people I talk to about how he is, say, my god my DH is like that...

I've got to go to Staines to pick up a ring I bought DH in feb. Was sent for engraving from Kingston store, which is closed for refurb' so now stored at Staines. Really P'd off as I feel they should have called me to let me know before it got sent to Staines!

Have a good day all, might be on later this eve, depends if I packed and tidied up ! We were aiming to leave at 5am, but not sure now when DH is going to get here. He's driving from Runcorn to here... long drive!

Take care all

rosmerta · 01/08/2008 11:14

steppie, just talking generally. I was wavering on the 'do you want to know' but dh got in before me & said no!

Anyway, the little blighter had his/her legs up so don't know if we would've been able to find out anyway!

Partygirl, well done on the swimming! And yes, I was referring to ds potty-wise

itsmyparty · 01/08/2008 11:19

Rod/Slng (was it you two?) have you heard abou your Sun holiday yet?

Someone on another thread has just got her confirmation through - we're still waiting for ours

rosmerta · 01/08/2008 11:20

Rod? ! We decided not to go for it in the end, but we'll probably do it again next year

slng · 01/08/2008 11:34

Partygirl - I don't buy the Sun. [indignant] We are going to Camber

Ros - it's a girl! They say boys will show it ...

rosmerta · 01/08/2008 11:46

Well, ds hid it as well!

rosmerta · 01/08/2008 11:46

Now of course, he'll get it out at the drop of a hat!

sfxmum · 01/08/2008 11:55

apparently sis has hangover so running late
partygirl well done w/swimming

keep thinking I must take it up again, maybe when dd is at nursery

itsmyparty · 01/08/2008 11:57

Slng - OMG I chose Camber too but haven't had our letter yet!!!

We sent tokens off on the first possible day that anyone could send them..

Must go and sort through that pile of post...

itsmyparty · 01/08/2008 12:33

Slng when did you receive your Sun confirmation letter?

Am getting all worried here...

SushiMummy · 01/08/2008 12:44

Afternoon all.

Hope everyone is well.

sfx - thanks for the festival info. DH found this and we might go there this weekend.

slng · 01/08/2008 12:53

Party - we are going curtesy MrsR, not with the Sun. So no need to get worried yet!

MrsRecycle · 01/08/2008 12:57

partygirl well done on the swimming - even I couldn't swim 100 lengths, you are inspirational. slng is going to my van at Camber next week! I'm not sure who else went for the sun tokens. What dates did you put - if it was 20th Sept then prob sold out as a lot of my df's are going there that weekend via Sun Deals? You can always rent out our df's van for £100 for the weekend - just as cheap as sun deals plus you'll have a pass already sorted.

ros - glad to hear scan went well, must be a relief.

itsmyparty · 01/08/2008 13:48

Slng - Oh OK that's alright then mind you someone on another thread has received their Sun conirmation

You will have a great time at Camber - its got loads to do

MrsR - have your DF's go their Sun newspaper letters then (getting all worried again...)?

I do hope we get Camber - we chose using the critria "how many swimming pools are there?" LOL!! If not I've got a feeling it will be the White Cliffs of Dover, which might be nice.

Am taking the biggest two DCs swimming to "my health club" later...errm I am ever so slightly addicted to being in that pool ATM...

MrsRecycle · 01/08/2008 13:52

they got them a week ago - whilst you were away. But other df's applied and got a "full" letter but they did leave their van in a disgusting state so I'm not surprised. But I bet yours was cleaner than when you arrived.

SJ99 · 01/08/2008 14:56

Hello all

Ros - glad scan went well, nice feeling.

Sfx - enjoy cinema, hope you and DD have a good trip

MrsR - hurray you've finished your job

Slng - enjoy your hols. I suppose you could re-ue the straws if you're worried about the environment!

Partygirl - well done on swimming, good effort

Kew - you must've been at little Houdini's antics!

Paddle - hope all goes well at docs and hope H does turn up

Susie - sorry you're having a hard time, hope you have a good break away together

COV - good luck with entertaining/peacemaking!

Last day of my 'hols', just realised this is the most relaxing week I'm going to get this year. Heading back to London tom ready to battle with the boxes, yuk.
Radio 4 tent was fab and lovely shady bar outside where we met 2 people dressed up as Danger Mouse
Am tempted to go to Reading fest for the day as line up looks excellent, can't decide which day though...Sushi enjoy your fest

Hoep I didn't miss anyone out, I always feel there is a mountain of news to get through when been away from MN for a few days!

MrsRecycle · 01/08/2008 16:01

gosh sj am very impressed with your summation skills - glad you had a relaxing time, have a good journey back home.

Paddlechick666 · 01/08/2008 16:53

afternoon all

Ros, we've been to see Dr Richard Halvorsen who wrote The Truth About Vaccines and Why We are Being Used as Human Guinea Pigs.

DD has had her measles jab and I am an emotional wreck!

H did make it in time but only due to the Dr running late but at least he was there. The "stinger" as dd calls it was incredibly quick and very efficient. I just hope we've done the right thing.

Anyways, took dd to Hamleys and spent a fortune on a Peppa Pig playset and Etchasketch. Drew the line at a £99 princess outfit! No sign of the credit crunch in Hamleys I can tell ya.

I need a drink but probably not wise given today's jab........

itsmyparty · 01/08/2008 19:13

Paddle is that her first Measlesjab or the booster

My DD is still having her boosters

Thanks for the reminder though - have booked DD in for her ubella booster and DS2 in for his first easles for next week at Direct Health 2000

DD never noticed her first Sepvax's and whe she hd her meases booster just said a loud "ouch"

I bet DS2 will make a HULLABALOO though the male pain thresh hold being so much lower

SJ - I too am impressed with your summation skills !!! Just kee visualising that luvverly ne home - it will get you through the stressy bits

MrsR - you mean they got their Sun newspaper letters last week - I am really worried now..I sentours off on the first day possible and we've heard nowt...

I rang and they said they can't speak to customrs until 27 Auust when the last bookings are done...maybe ours were popular and they are having to juggle about with dates/venues etc. I guess the credit crunch will drive more and more people to try Sun holidays eh? This will be our 4th this year

itsmyparty · 01/08/2008 19:17

Had a day of today

am - impersonated Waynetta Slob
pm - took DC's for a swim
evening - cold beer, big Irish sew and dancing around the kitchen to Magic 05

Paddlechick666 · 01/08/2008 19:25

partygirl, it's the one and only measles jab she will have. Halvorsen doesn't do boosters, apparently only 1 in 10 kids don't "take". I intend to have a blood test done before she starts school and take it from there.

i've decided against all/any other jabs for now. i'll let her have rubella at 11yrs which i think they do in schools.

bugger, forgot to ask about BCG

he was very reassuring about the original reaction she had and says I, inadvertantly, did the right thing in delaying the 2nd and 3rd rounds until 9m and nearly 12m resepectively. he is also pretty sure that the lateness of her final round of the 5 in 1 will be sufficient for the HIB to have longevity.

am still feeling slightly sick but what's done is done now.

anyone around tomorrow arvo? got a veiwing so need to be out of the hooose.

your day sounds great btw.

itsmyparty · 01/08/2008 19:27

Was planning to work but have ducked out of it
