I can't face hoovering the kitchen. I'm going to have my drink now. The kitchen can wait. In fact it never goes anywhere.

sillybigsausage · 23/08/2008 19:47

Hallooo all

How was your journey back Paddle and minipads?

Can anyone give us an update on the gos'?

sfxmum · 23/08/2008 19:57

hello all

SJ it went very well dh&dd took it to the recycling at the end of our road and she helped tip it in the appropriate places

susi hope things are ok

I baked this today, actually for the second time quite tasty
and will shortly do pear/choc cake for diner at sis tomorrow

slng well done on Herculean effort, know how you fell but I always avoid being heroic

this morning was jogging along the river and there was a cyclist ahead and a couple of other runners nearby
then this guy coming in the opposite direction threw a ball accross the path of the cyclist , the man's dog jumped after it and the girl tried to serve and ended up on the ground, really nasty fall, the 2 men joggers who were nearer helped her up but the dog's owner picked up the ball and strolled away

can't stand irresponsible dog owners
she wasn't going fast and there is not way he did not see her as it was a straight part of the path

sfxmum · 23/08/2008 19:58

hi paddle and sausage

isn't it you lot who have the gossip?

PaddlePig · 23/08/2008 20:54

there is no goss, all they've been blathering about is food the whole time we have been gone!

good journey back thanks. dd watched her movie then slept for an hour.

half the washing is done, dd is asleep (no more 9am wake ups for us as there is no disco/caberet to keep her entertained till 10:30pm!), I have a glass of glug-glug and a pizza on it's way!

susie, hope H turns up. mine seems to have taken a nose dive. oooh what a surprise

sfxmum · 23/08/2008 22:18

by the way Cloverfield is a tad scary

PaddlePig · 24/08/2008 07:52

morning all, well both dd and i had a very disturbed night. she cried out a few times plus the neighbours were rowdy at 1:30 for an hour or so. the joys of being back home, we both slept so well in the caravan.

dd has announced she wants to go to climbers and creepers and have lunch at the orangery today!

anyone else planning on kew?

PaddlePig · 24/08/2008 09:04

About to put Camber pics on FB, there are some of all the kids but my FB profile is locked down to "friends" only so they can't be viewed by all and sundry!

stepfordwife · 24/08/2008 09:39

welcome back, paddle and sausage

paddle, I tried to stop 'em, honest guv. but it was recipes all the way. made me feel tres inadequate

not around today as going to the beach
oh, and got to pack for hols/vaguely sort tip of house out when we get back.

sfx, how rude and downright strange of that man to ignore the poor girl
have a good day everyone
toodlepip

sfxmum · 24/08/2008 10:46

good morning all

paddle not going to Kew as we are visiting family this arvo.

sympathy for the bad night here not good either some neighbours were horribly noisy until well after 2am then another set started a row at 4am
dd nit not settle very well and I had a migraine nausea and all
felt quite homicidal towards neighbours

one of the rowdy guests (housewarming party) I don't think will be back
"great to reminisce isn't it? I mean you where sh*t at school and now you are a teacher"
maybe they were all too drunk to notice

hope everyone is well

PaddlePig · 24/08/2008 11:00

sfx, you have my sympathy on the neighbour front. did at the overheard comment tho! wish i could understand what is said downstairs sometimes! last night it really wasn't such a crime against humanity but these flats are just so badly soundproofed.

it was the husband again, he comes home from work v. late then seems to have long telephone conversations whilst wandering around the flat. at least i assume it's a phone otherwise he's just talking to himself as there is never another voice!okay i think he is probably talking slightly louder than you might normally but he's not yelling or anything. the problem is that it's 1:30am and noise carries at night I find.

the rest of 'em appear to be up now, cue lung expelling coughing and gangsta rap shaking the floors.

I am seriously considering putting carpet down over my laminate flooring. partly to deaden dd's noise but also in the hope it will cut noise from them. apart from that, the noise seems to travel up the walls (weirdly). anyone got any ideas on how to deal with that?

dd is running green snot and bouncing off the walls. she is demanding kew but i would rather she stay indoors tbh.

is there a cashpoint at kew does anyone know?

sfxmum · 24/08/2008 11:08

there are 2 cashpoints in Kew village by the station, Tesco and Barclays
not sure if any kew shops do cashback but don't think there are cashpoints inside the gardens

hope green snot turns out to be nothing serious, I expects minipads will be unsettled after holidays, mine takes a few days to get back to normal

PaddlePig · 24/08/2008 11:09

and it occurs to me that they must hear every word that is said up here. and most of them are said quite loudly and generally contain words such as "stop thumping/screaming/shouting/taking your clackclack crocodile outside of your bedroom" etc etc! They must know I try really hard to keep dd quiet. shame they don't offer the same consideration!

Kewcumber · 24/08/2008 11:10

paddle - there are cashpoints in Kew village - tesco barclays and nat west and you can probably park fr a few minutes.

Sorry DD is ill - DS wants to know where you are and if you're coming swimming with us..thi. I entirely expect demands for a dances evening

PaddlePig · 24/08/2008 11:10

ah, cool, thanks sfx. will swing by kew village on the way.

TVM

sillybigsausage · 24/08/2008 11:24

Paddle - carpet on the walls?

(slap myself for being a silly sausage)

Seriously I don't know as its often TV sounds which seem to travel upwards and I'm not sure how to stop that

sillybigsausage · 24/08/2008 11:26

...am beginning to miss the Camber D>I>S>C>O> myself actually

sillybigsausage · 24/08/2008 11:31

Anyone else for Mamma Mia?

SJ99 · 24/08/2008 18:59

Hello all

Paddle - any fabric/carpet will help absorb noise but it's a pity that you have to go to so much trouble

Steppie - enjoy your beach trip, hope weather holds out

Sfx - at biker's fall incident, some people eh? Hope you have a better night's sleep too

We went to Frimley Park lodge this morning for our walk which was lovely. Then DH cooked a nice roast as my bro came over this afternoon. DS enjoyed the company/attention and seems to enjoy showing people his new room!

Kewcumber · 24/08/2008 21:03

stuffed full of roast courtesy of my mum - if anyone wants to see a truly awsome pic of Paddle doing to Bingo song at the D-I-S-C-O then check out my facebook photos.. mind you she may well not be talking to me for long.

DS ha unexpected talent on the dance floor though it didn;t impressed mini-paddle one little bit. Have a great video of MrsR trying to corall her DS and mine in the Okey Cokey but cant work out how to get it onto the PC yet.

sillybigsausage · 24/08/2008 21:13

SJ where is that place you went to today?

Kew- I have been de-cluttering today - accompanied by the "Best Disco Album in the World - Ever!!!" CD

Weathe tomorrow is supposed to be Fab

sfxmum · 24/08/2008 21:28

must check out pics pronto the ones I have seen so far are fab

had a nice time at mid sis house, little sis and her teens came along too much to dd's delight, super excited fun and games
think I need a quiet day tomorrow

SJ99 · 24/08/2008 21:37

Paddle & Kew - pics are fab, the kids look really cute and are obviously having lots of fun

SBS - we went here today which was lovely. We followed a trail alongside the canal and into a forest on the other side of the lodge park. Can dig out the details of trail from DH's book (re-discovered in the move!) if you want. I think the railway is open tomorrow.

susiecutiebananas · 25/08/2008 00:19

Not managing to sleep tonight. dickhead DH didn't turn up this weekend. I won't go into detail as i don't want to bore the pants off any of you especially poor paddle who has heard nothing else all day

Wanted to share this thread with you guys, if you've not seen it... it actually made me laugh out loud alot, which was not easy tonight. So hope it'll help a chuckle for you lot too

the lovely QS bless her heart

So, had a really really FAB day today at Kew with Paddle and minpaddle. Both DD's played so nicely together, with the bigger of the two, taking full responsibility for small 19month old. (she had little choice bless her as we were deep in conversation, some one had to lol) They held hands and played all day. then ate tea next to each other and enjoyed their bath together too. We were even invited to sleep in Paddles bed, by her generous DD.

some of you have heard me speaking, so i'd like to just ask, do you think I'm fairly 'well spoken' but with a slight london ..ahem.. middle class twang ?

I ask, because Littlecutie has started shouting saying "sit down'' as one of her little phrases... only she says it in quite a different way to me. think Bianca from EastEnders, and you will understand how I mean. Where is she getting it from and why does she say it so loudly???

So, hope you are all enjoying your weekends. So many of you still to meet.

KC- would really love to meet again with you, seems it was a long time ago.

Some of you may be pleased to hear i've now got my kewgardens membership! So i'm really pleased. I will be going alot now. I hope I can join some/all at some point there very soon. Will be welly and mac season soon... I love Autumn more than any other season tbh.

Sorry, I've gone on, pointless drivel too. Sorry for no personals again

Kewcumber · 25/08/2008 11:52

hi susie - yes would be lovely to meet and compare dickhead fathers (no DHH to compare) I'm around Sat and Sun coming I think (but not Fri as am going to a big mofo's meet in Oxford).

You're welsome to come here or meet in Kew as ou have a shiny new pass. Obviously weaher and DH dependant.
