OP posts:
stepfordwife · 29/07/2008 17:49

hurrah!
say:"hello dh"
then go and lie on the bed with a magazine...
that's what i do anyway

rosmerta · 29/07/2008 17:57

Sfx, sorry about painting. I had something similar when I left ds with his crayons to find he'd scribbled on the (newly painted) wall!

Are you still up for meeting tomorrow btw?

sfxmum · 29/07/2008 18:00

Ros yes please name time

steppie I think dh just got the motivation he needed to chuck me out of bed in the morning and send me down the river path in search of a better mood

stepfordwife · 29/07/2008 18:10

get those running shoes on, laydeeeee

mellow2 · 29/07/2008 18:29

I'm really annoyed that our rubbish has not been collected in 3 weeks. The building stinks of rubbish as the bin store is on the ground floor and is attached to the building, iyswim.

No amount of complaining to the rubbish department is doing any good. I've just written a stroppy email to the director of environmental services at Hounslow council, not that it will make any difference.

Does anyone have any suggestions of who we can complain to? Partygirl any suggestions?

OP posts:
rosmerta · 29/07/2008 19:42

Mellow, that's awful. I know they've been on strike but ours was collected last week. I'd seriously consider contacting the local paper if you don't get a good response from anyone at the council.

ComeOVeneer · 29/07/2008 20:35

3 weeks in this weather!!! Surely that is a health hazard?

SFX sorry to hear about dd sounds like my house on a regular occurence!

I was very virtuous (am on a serious 3 week diet in preparation of impending holiday and bikini wearing) and took ds for an hours bike ride this afternoon, I can really fel it in my legs this eveining.

I'm afraid I amunlikely to be able to mee up tomorrow as I have to wait in for a delivery. Bl**dy DVLA have lost (or rather the RM) or tax disc so a new one is being sent out to arrive tomorrow morning (or rather up until 1.30pm) and I have to stay in to sign for it. Depending on when it arives and when you are meeting I may be able to sort out something, I will call one of you if I can.

rosmerta · 29/07/2008 21:27

Tbh, I can meet anytime tomorrow. If its morning I'll probably get there around 10.30, stay for lunch & then head back around 1-ish. Afternoon, then probably around 3pm & have a picnic tea. WHichever suits people.

sfxmum · 29/07/2008 21:49

for me it is best in the morning and if we still have the energy pop to Richmond later

I have to be up early tomorrow anyway and dd was asleep early today so we have a chance of being there around 10.30

Mellow that is really awful hope the complaint works

COV good luck with virtuosity must get back on track myself

ComeOVeneer · 29/07/2008 22:00

I doubt I will make it in the morning, however if he delivery comes early Iwill call one of you (I think I have most people's mobile numbers) to see where you are.

rosmerta · 29/07/2008 22:23

Sfx, ok, will try to get there for 10.30am! Will probably meander round near Victoria Gate. Cov, hope you can join us!

susiecutiebananas · 30/07/2008 00:46

KC- I can always be coerced.. into far too many things DH away or not ( and he better bloody not still be working away in a year or so.. did you say next year or this? ( terrible memory ) either way, I'm perfectly erm... coercible!

Love love love camping. Ot sure how my hip would cope anymore but I'm hoping we'll at least get a long weekend in the tent at end of august... >

Sorry, literally just nipping on to say hi to all. Didn't intend to post as really should be in bed. sorry once again for lack of personals. HOpe kew is lovely tomorrow I'll be in sunny Kent with my big sister and her 3 Dc's, oh, and Mum. Hoping they will occupy Isobel and I can put my feet up!!

Take care all

rosmerta · 30/07/2008 08:14

HOpe you have a nice time susie

mellow2 · 30/07/2008 08:31

It's definitely a health hazard. But I'll wait to see if they collect the rubbish today before I go to the press.

OP posts:
rosmerta · 30/07/2008 08:38

Mellow, just so you know they've collected our rubbish today so can't think why they wouldn't get yours as well.

sfxmum · 30/07/2008 09:11

good morning all

susie have a great time

mellow hope it gets collected today, I think they should do a clean up as well. we had a similar problem sometime back and even after collection the the bins room was filthy we pushed for a clean up and got it.
aren't your neighbours complaining as well?

COV hope you can make it out as well

rosmerta · 30/07/2008 09:38

Right, off to get dressed. See you later sfx

ComeOVeneer · 30/07/2008 09:48

No sign of delivery yet, so I think I may be a no show today. Perhaps we could do one day next week, wether permitting.

mellow2 · 30/07/2008 10:08

sfx,
The rubbish has been collected finally. Good point. I've thought about that too. I'll get dh to check later. I'm a bit squeamish.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 30/07/2008 14:08

mellow that is a relief but worth checking it needs regular cleaning, always an issue in this building.along with people putting rubbish in the wrong place.

COV hope parcel turned up, hate days stuck waiting for such things you have my sympathy

Ros nice to see you dd said she liked it too and her favourite part was mine ros took her collection and she cried and he was very polite and apologised kids! obviously likes drama

rosmerta · 30/07/2008 15:01

Sfx, nice to see both of you, ds definitely enjoyed himself, kept asking where minisfx was on the way home.

Paddlechick666 · 30/07/2008 15:12

huff, you lot out and about in the sun whilst i slog away

well, am also that a portable dvd player i bought off ebay won't play half of dd's discs

so now i have to send it back so they can replace/fix it. WTF is the point of online shopping if i have to go to the bloody post office! if i had time to do that i'd go to a traditional bloody shop and buy what i want!

on a good note, i emailed Oakley UK to ask if I could buy a new nose-pad for much loved sunnies after losing the original last week. they replied within the hour and are sending 2 types to try free of charge

we are considering a last gasp for summer 2008 with End of The Road festival in September.

BTW Kew, if you like Edinburgh Festival I am sure you would enjoy Latitude. It was great to see/watch the Radio4 performances that were being broadcast live and there is a very broad range of entertainment available.

Kicked houseguest out this morning and will welcome DM this evening. Then houseguest back tomorrow evening and taking dd to Halvorsen on Friday.

I am exhausted!!

Kew, won't pop over tonight I'm afraid. Haven't had time to get everything done today so will need to do some more jobs/work this eve.

Roll on Camber!

slng · 30/07/2008 16:49

We had a doctor's appointment this afternoon. I left 50 minutes so we won't have to rush. We were there with one minute to spare. How can this be?? The surgery is 5 minutes' drive away!!

On the upside - we are going on hols next week. Guess where guess where?

sfxmum · 30/07/2008 16:53

slng apparently my sisters and kids will be there too, they are fairly normal

paddle festival sounds good we might squeeze in a week some where but dh wants it to be sunny

ComeOVeneer · 30/07/2008 17:02

Well parcel arrived at 1.29pm (just within the time slot) so a morning (and then some) wasted staying in, well not wasted I did plenty and ds layed nicely in the garden, but would have preferred going out. It was a duplicate tax disc as the one we applied for online 2 weeks ago didn't arrive. I only had to be here to sign for it it wasn't a parcel just an envelope. As paddle saya what is the point of doing things online. If I had known it would be this much hassle I would have goneto the post office and got it the "old fashioned" way!
