Paddlechick666 · 29/07/2008 15:22

pmsl slng!

sfxmum · 29/07/2008 15:33

what, prey tell is wrong with a tent? I can stand in mine and not too hard to put up and people help anyway

am claustrophobic and can't do the tiny ones
don't have to sit on toilets

sfxmum · 29/07/2008 15:34

a section missing, with SJ's sheewee you don't have to sit on toilets and they are not that bad really

Kewcumber · 29/07/2008 15:37

my mum has bought DS a t shirt with "I'm a little monster"

If I shudder will you all think I'm being precious? (THoguh no qualms about accuracy of statement )

Yurts look fab but about £600 quid per person

Kewcumber · 29/07/2008 15:38

yes but I don't have a van with an extension! Not prepared to buy and lug and put up tent for one experimetnal festival trip...

sfxmum · 29/07/2008 15:43

Latitude has porters and people/ stewards help
although I am actually tempted by the ready to use tents

sfxmum · 29/07/2008 15:44

if only I could bear the shame of the orange bracelet

stepfordwife · 29/07/2008 15:48

in a moment of madness, dh bought ds2 a t-shirt with whatever on it..shudder..
i made no bones about being precious and straight into a charity bag it went
hotels are quite nice, i hear.....

Kewcumber · 29/07/2008 15:51

my mum generally has such taste - what possessed her?

Kewcumber · 29/07/2008 15:53

it may be an orange bracelet for me, thoguh not entirely sure I really can hack the toilets... have a year to think about it. Need some singles to go with if Paddle is going to be with H.

Perhaps Susie can be coerced into going if her DH is still away.

sfxmum · 29/07/2008 15:53

wide selection of T's [[http://www.retrobay.co.uk/products.asp?cat=177&pg=2 here]

sfxmum · 29/07/2008 15:54

sorry here

Kewcumber · 29/07/2008 15:56

thanks sooo much sfx - mums is a little more tasteful (words only no pictures)

sfxmum · 29/07/2008 16:02

pukesome isn't it?

Having said that dh has a Tshirt from when I was pregnant saying "I'm the daddy" I blame the hormones

Paddlechick666 · 29/07/2008 16:04

H bought dd one that said "Saw It, Wanted It, Threw a Wobbly, Got It!".

I binned it after being unable to resist a comment along the lines of "perhaps you got dd confused with one of her half-siblings?"

[evilgrin]

I really like those Yurts!

I might invest in a sheewee altho I don't really mind the drop bogs for that particular function. It's the other one that I really want a private, enclosed, flushing (of some sort) environment!!!

SJ99 · 29/07/2008 16:42

The sheewee was such a godsend, best thing I've bought in ages. I think it confused DS though as he kept saying mummy's got a willy Was v. impressed with flushable loos at campsite.

I have to say I slept brilliantly at the festival, much better than I thought I would, our tent is small it's so comfy.

LOL at the t-shirts and name quotes!

Steppie - I read the 'glamping' article, made me chuckle Yurts do look good, but we drove past Tangerine field on our way out, it looked far too civilised. Think I'll stick with a simple tent.

Would like to go to fest agian next yr but only if baby is sleeping through the night by then (as if...!)

rosmerta · 29/07/2008 16:46

So far I've managed to avoid slogan tshirts with ds, am betting my mum will get him 'I'm the big brother' tshirt though!

Sfx, pmsl at some of the comments & names! I did hear a 'Hickory' at Kew M&S the other week!

Ds not slept today & didn't want to go to the park so we ended up on the train to Waterloo. There was a very nice & patient woman sat opposite us who had to put up with ds's constant 'lady, another train', 'lady, a helicopter'.

Kewcumber · 29/07/2008 16:48

ah the get a train to Waterloo and back is a standard in our house. DS's squeals either casue much amusement or pursed lips depnedning on childfriendliness of neighbours.

sfxmum · 29/07/2008 17:19

I was cleaning up the kitchen and dd was doing finger painting, normally not a problem
well today I have brightly coloured footprints all over and just showered the little devil.

it is actually my fault for being totally unable to get my act together today

oh ball must call carpet cleaning people

sfxmum · 29/07/2008 17:21

I managed not to cream but she is just saying 'it is ok mummy I promise not to do it again just calm down'

must get act together must get act together

sfxmum · 29/07/2008 17:21

SCREAM that is

stepfordwife · 29/07/2008 17:30

you've done well not to scream, sfx
deep breaths...
ikwym about feeling it's your fault..sometimes when i'm working (or trying to) with dd in the room, i turn a blind eye to whatever she's doing..
when i look up, of course she's trashed something. i remmeber one lowpoint when she found the christmas tree baubles and picked all the gilt off...sigh...

just lots of hugs and kisses at bed-time and tomorrow is another day..

stepfordwife · 29/07/2008 17:31

not saying your dd was trashing, btw..

sfxmum · 29/07/2008 17:38

thanks for sympathy it is actually my fault
at least dh on way home
