OP posts:
slng · 28/07/2008 15:36

They've elected Boris. Who is to say they won't elect Cameron? Doom and gloom, I tell you. Doom and gloom.

rosmerta · 28/07/2008 16:01

Susie, happy to meet on Weds. Like sfx, Kew is good for me, not been to the Marble Hill club before and don't know what its like to get to on public transport!

sfxmum · 28/07/2008 16:02

doubtless our next prime minister don't care

but he will not last long leading the Tories regardless of wining elections

rosmerta · 28/07/2008 16:04

We're having a really quiet day today, ds doesn't seem to want to even play in the garden!

Paddlechick666 · 28/07/2008 16:09

i just had a cold shower, bliss!

sfxmum · 28/07/2008 16:12

ros I expect most buses coming from Twickenham into Richmond will go past and it is not a long walk from Richmond Bridge, might be a bit awkward for you

dd has been slobbing around too, went to shop with ice cream incentive otherwise not bothered

ComeOVeneer · 28/07/2008 16:21

Hi all. Boy is it hot! DS has been anightmare today. We packed a picnic and heaed to park to meet friends. He was a right grump throuhout. Gavepand came home and had picnic (not much) at home. then had to brave the supermaret. I doubt he will be any better the next few days if it remains hot so gritted my teeth and did a big shop. Go home and he was still totallymiserable,so back in car with aircon for a long drive (1.5 hours) and he slept. We are now home and I am sitting on the landing with laptop wilst he is playing in a cool bath and is finally happy. More thing just can't "do" hot. Am a trifle concerned hat he will be like on holiday.

Am around on Wednesday with just ds so could do a meet somewhere. Just realised though that my Kew membership has expired.

slng · 28/07/2008 17:25

There's a naked 2yo and a semi-naked 4yo walking about in my garden sprinkling water on everything.

MrsRecycle · 28/07/2008 17:35

sounds idyllic slng - they can come and water my plants when they're finished. I've realised I don't have your address - can you email me it? Ta...

Paddlechick666 · 28/07/2008 18:48

took hot and totally over excited dd to dr surgery to register this eve. took passports, have been meaning to do this for ages and taking dd to see Halvorsen on Friday so need to be registered.

receptionist says must wait for dr to see if i can register. i am literally over the road from the surgery - literally.

dd charges around waiting room behaving like devils spawn. honestly i've never seen her like it in my life.

receptionist and 2 other patients are so frosty i was almost chilly!

dr finally comes out after 10mins, asks my full address etc. i'm literally pointing at my flat so eventually he concedes i can register.

reception then tells me i don't have all the documents. i went slightly bonkers at this point. why oh why oh why couldn't she have checked that i had the right documents before making me wait? i could've popped home to get them then couldn't i?

dd behaving like a total mare + me stropping at receptionist = ASBO family and they're all tutting and rolling their eyes.

can't go back there now can I!

sorry paddle sounds horrid, is it still the same GP he was nice and had good team
sounds like the procedures have changed to register with GP what docs do you need? don't remember being asked for anything

dd also running around like a mad thing too much heat not good for tempers

SJ99 · 28/07/2008 20:18

Hello all

Paddle - sounds like a mare, receptionist could've saved you a lot of bother BTW I thought ASBO boy had been sent away?

MrsR - at your post, how awful

Bunyan - sorry by the time I'd replied to your chat you'd logged off, bu the answer was yes thanks. Hope your evenings/nights are getting better with DS

Am also on slob mode, making the most of the GP's being on hand before I have to battle with boxes at wkend. DH gone to work in Bristol this week hopefully for last time

Had a fab day taking DS to park & outdoor pool, got home at 5pm before thunder and lightening struck, doesn't feel much cooler yet though

Hoep everyone else well. Kew - have sent you my new contact details for the list

SJ99 · 28/07/2008 20:19

Oh and have finally uploaded pics onto FB

susiecutiebananas · 28/07/2008 22:16

evening all Thank god the thunder ad lightning have started!! Good god it's been another it hot one! Izzy is in a nappy and vest tonight. I've got all the windows open. I live i semi basement flat and its usually really really cool, so I know its hot if its hot down here!

Rosmerta / SFX- I'd love not meet on wed at Kew. Passes would be great thank you

V tight this month due to my pay being cut to less than half and having BIL funerals to pay towards. PLus, DH is away with work for 3 days but they won't approve it as expenses as its not something they think necessary sorry, nothing to do with anyone, just fuming still that he's gone away for 3 days. and he's not been home for 6-7 weeks I think.

Ok, i've done it again. will stop now.

I had a nude girl running around my garden just before bedtime. escaped whilst trying to find a clean (dry) nappy. unfortunately I had a second appearance of said toddler an hour after bedtime. She was so upset, think must have been a dream, maybe about Daddy, as she was talking about him alot.

Shit, sorry, I have to stop this! erm, perhaps you could let me know a good time to meet, and where on wednesday.

KC- We must catch up when were back. You are more than welcome here too, I've a large garden, lots of room to run around. Will soon be displaying a new sand pit we've a slide and a swing. Of course this invitation goes to anyone !

Kewcumber · 28/07/2008 22:54

sfx I haven;t used any of my Kew passes this year so if you are short pop round tomorrow evening and have one of mine for Susie - I'll expect repayment in teas at her house

susiecutiebananas · 28/07/2008 23:10

Gosh, sorry, I was being very ungrateful sounding! I know they are pretty precious things the passes. So of course, thank you so much.

KC- plenty of tea and biscuits here in payment!

Izzy finally back in bed after the thunder. It was incredibly loud here in Hampton Wick. very bright too.

Hope you are all sleeping soundly now. I ought to try too, just can't get comfortable.

sfxmum · 28/07/2008 23:24

no worries I think we still have 8 left and renewal is in September we are supposed to come over for a meet up next month but there are no firm dates as of yet.

we can talk details tomorrow
night night

sfxmum · 28/07/2008 23:25

meant friends are supposed to come over

slng · 29/07/2008 08:45

Morning all!

MrsR - nice to see you yesterday!

I've swept the kitchen floor, put the laundry on, sent kids to nursery after persuading DS1 that if DS2 wants to play with a piece of receipt he can even if DS1 thinks that's rubbish, and amended some standing orders. Any more excuses for not getting on with work?

sfxmum · 29/07/2008 08:52

good morning all

dh installed more gadgets on my laptop so playing with them now

hope everyone is well

must find energy to take dd to the park at some point

Paddlechick666 · 29/07/2008 09:36

morning all

well, this is it now. i am imposing an embargo on mid-week houseguests from here on in until i have a spare bedroom.

it's lovely to have a visitor but it's just too hard in a small flat.

would appreciate you guys having a looky at my thread here: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/67/575653 don't know if I am over-reacting but I do know I'm not happy today........

slng · 29/07/2008 09:54

Paddle - don't think you are over-reacting. I think:

  1. have a chat with CM but as Notyummy says dress it up a bit.

  2. I don't have experience with older children but from what I've seen I think it's normal for 6/7 yo to do all that exculsion stuff. Still CM should deal with it. Perhaps "ask" her how she deals with it: "DD says xxxx but I being really inexperienced would like your advice on how to deal with it."

  3. Ask DD what she would like to do about it. DS1 had complained about some children snatching/hitting. I've asked him what he thought he should do and we explored certain options and he seemed to have found his own way. DD is still a bit young so I don't know if that would work.

In short, I don't know what to do either ...

slng · 29/07/2008 09:54
