we're going to Mortlake fair tomrrow (next to brwery) opened at 12noon by Catherine Tate and apparently has a mini steam train and face painting - so thats DS sorted for the afternoon!

PortAndLemon · 27/06/2008 23:06

Oh bother. Meant to go to that with DS but forgot and have now booked tickets for Prince Caspian. Drat.

SJ99 · 28/06/2008 10:05

Morning all

Fair sounds good, when DH gets back will work out what we're doing today, will text if we pop along

P&L - we do have random meet ups in the week, Slng/Sfx - would be up for Kew picnic some time.

Glad Paddle's enjoying Glasto, and yes, Edith looks sickeningly wonderful Maybe these ladies have lipo at the same time the baby comes out?

We decided last night that we will try renting again which is a shame, but I slept easy so my conscience is obvioulsy not wrestling with me on that decision. Not even sure if vendor still wants to sell anymore...Maybe we'll go and check out some more properties today.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend

sfxmum · 28/06/2008 10:58

good morning all

kew thanks for info,dh is at work today so I am looking for something to keep dd busy, if only I can find Mortlake brewery - is that by the river? think I ran past it

slng yes lot of chicken talk last night watched Kings of Leon instead wished I was at Glasto fab set.

SJ imo buying is always stressful regardless of it being the right decision, yet you are likely doing the right thing a few more months see what happens

Kewcumber · 28/06/2008 20:43

Mortlake fair excellent defintiely worth putting in your diaries for next year.

Kewcumber · 28/06/2008 20:45

Though typically I am now more burnt than my 2 yr old!

stepfordwife · 29/06/2008 11:59

steppie's lesson of the weekend:
do not have your friends round the night before you're helping at the school fair, kidding yourself you won't drink too much and it won't be a late night.
you will and it will..

certainly had my comeuppance standing behind the raffle stall in the hot sun bang opposite the ex-=pupils' rock band struggling to tear off non-working perforated raffle tickets..

it was the looooooooooooooooooonest afternoon of my life

lovely to see you, dh and ds, tho, sushi. did you find any animals?

kew, was it a good turn-out at mortlake. catherine tate an even better draw now.

nice to see you, p & l

dh back, thank the lord. have been informed i'm taking little fellas to flicks. result. darkened room, cappuccino, might even sneak in a snooze.
enjoy your day, all

stepfordwife · 29/06/2008 12:01

longest even

sfxmum · 29/06/2008 12:22

hello all

steppie rest your sore head how times change that the movies is a good excuse for a nap

well here dd is undermining my attempts to tidy up by spreading all her junk all over the floor, this is her strategy when I announce I must hoover.
must go to marks and get dinner I think in laws say they will bring the booze

we used to see each other only every other year since dd the average is 2x a year but this now we have already topped that and it is only mid year - what do we talk about?

sfxmum · 29/06/2008 12:23

what I meant so far this year it has been 3X and we are barely over half year

Kewcumber · 29/06/2008 20:06

very good turnout at mortlake fair - and even better I got my hair cut for £10 Question for the day - Am the I the only woman in the world who thinks a £10 haircut at a school fair is a result?! I think that may be a thread!

slng · 29/06/2008 21:03

Hello all!

Kew - £10 haircut very good. I usually spend £15 ...

Went to Ikea today with DS1. There was a "technical fault" and all shoppers were tuft out! Then a fire engine turned up! Very exciting (and cheap - didn't get to buy anything!)

sfxmum · 29/06/2008 21:07

must send dh there very much his kind of thing and expect even cheaper for men.

paddle is sending me texts she is evil

ComeOVeneer · 29/06/2008 21:40

HI all. Hope you have all had a lovely weekend. Has paddle survived? Steppie you should know better at your age I can't do late nights/lots of wine and be at my best (or anywhere near) the next day these days!

Kew I fear the sun got the better of me too today. My children where regularly attacked with sunscreen but I just smeared what was left on my hands over my exposed parts, as as I sit here I feel a "glow" (that isn't embarassed, that is what my face looks like).

We had a lovely, if tiring weekend. DD has been put up a group at swimming so we were at the pool just after nine on Saturday, than up to N London for lunch with friends, over to ILs for tea, dropped children with them, dh and I went out to this fab restaraunt with friends in Camden Gilgamesh to celebrate our friend getting married today without us in Croatia - late night, fab food, very expensive wine.

Up at 6am at IL's house (courtesy of ds) then up to the heath for the "street picnic" cue lots of running around with lo's and various 2nd/3rd cousins, rounders, cricket, more wine and sun. What summer is for eh?!??!

rosmerta · 30/06/2008 09:02

hi all, sounds like everyone's had a nice weekend. We've been up at my parents & got back late last night. Nice to get a break as ds constantly asks for grandad to play!

Think a quiet day for us today, might head over to Kew if I can persuade ds!

We'd also be up for a picnic tea one day

sfxmum · 30/06/2008 09:11

good morning all

Ros the beauty of a kid with grandparents around is that they entertain each other for hrs marvellous

am very of friends and family at Glasto who keep sending me texts about how awesome and magic and emotional and beautiful Leonard Cohen was, and the miserable old git refused to be filmed so can't even watch from a distance on the BBC

anyway probably Kew or something today looks lovely and sunny

sfxmum · 30/06/2008 09:12

by miserable old git I meant beloved poet

slng · 30/06/2008 09:42

Good morning all.

May go to Kew this afternoon, but feel very lethargic at the moment. Must work ...

SJ99 · 30/06/2008 10:07

Hello sounds like everyone had a good weekend.
Yes, am v of Paddle too! Taped the Verve as was too tired to stay up, have that to look fwd to.

Just had to break the terrible news to vendor that we're not going through with house sale It's a shame circumstances are not going to permit us to continue with purchase. Will try and put offer today on a house we viewed last wk to rent which is in catchment area.

On a positive note, DS slept soundly in his 1st night in his big bed, yay. I think the Thomas duvet helped tremendously

Will head to park soon

Kewcumber · 30/06/2008 12:42

funnily enough Paddle hasn't been texting me to make me jealous of thousands of people shrins a carreir bag for a toilet. I should have texted her about my lovely hot shower last night after DS went to bed.

I stopped him napping yesterday and he slept 8pm-7am today bliss.

sfxmum · 30/06/2008 13:04

congrats on good sleepers to KC & SJ

dd has been complaining about her inadequate bed, she is demanding the new one

MrsRecycle · 30/06/2008 13:14

hello everyone! Lovely to catch up with slng/Mellow/Ros on Thursday night.

Sorry I've not been here, only we had a Chicken Pox alert Friday but it hasn't materialised into anything (thank goodness).

Well second installment of ds beating up my df's bully ds (6 years), ds (22m) pulled a knife on him on Saturday night. He was sitting in a high chair next to him and I had to grab the knife before serious damage was done.

ds also went swimming on his own on Saturday (with armbands) and loved it. Off to update Caravaning thread...

We went to Windsor races yesterday and had a lovely day out, the farm from Kew was there and ds/dds held a duckling. They also had free pony rides.

Oh no! We are so lazy we haven't been out yet! Have some carrot cake in the oven though ... Must go out after Bob-the-builder.

MrsR - don't forget the cleaner! Must remember to wear full body amour if ever we meet your ds

sfxmum · 30/06/2008 18:35
