now really need to do some studying

oh yes at bedtime dd told me that for the wedding she would like me to put a shiny dot on her forehead and a ribbon on her hair and some sparkly shiny shoes

it is a phase it is a phase

rosmerta · 25/06/2008 21:39

sfx are you sure dd isn't wanting the lelly kelly shoes?

also curious about the cheese making, will enquire tomorrow!

sfxmum · 25/06/2008 21:45

yes that's the ones she wants which I can't quite bring myself to name, blasted advertising

PortAndLemon · 25/06/2008 22:36

Regular canvas shoes. Packet of sequins and glue gun. Fabric paint pen.

(Let me know if it works as this is my master plan for three-four years' time )

SushiMummy · 26/06/2008 07:45

Morning all. Lovely day again.

Paddle - hope you are having a good time there.

CoV - hope DS feels better soon. Must've been scary for you.

PaL - lovely to see you. My friend had a baby girl about the same time as you did and it's her second one after DS. She said it's much easier this time around, too. A bit envious of mums of girls sometimes - DS was not at all easy.

Ros/sfx/slng/mrsr/foxie/mellow - have fun tonight.

Got a surprise present from DH this morning (tis our anniversary) and it was a bread making machine! Anyone got any nice bread recipes?

We got tickets to see the Wiggles next month! Is anyone going? I'm dead excited!

sfxmum · 26/06/2008 09:14

good morning all

P&L if only I were crafty

sushi happy anniversary, I make my bread by hand so no machine recipes

COV how is ds this morning?

I did go running this morning (after hitting the snooze button3x) feel much better

might take dd to lollipop as she keeps asking to be with other kids I am such a mean mummy

MrsRecycle · 26/06/2008 09:16

hi P&L - good to see you around. Happy Anniversary sushi. Banana bread is a good starter to get used to it.

so is it mrsR/foxie/mellow/sfx/ros tonight - slng are you coming as well? dh all sorted for babysitting. Are you feeling better sfx?

OP posts:
sfxmum · 26/06/2008 09:19

all good mrsR was just complaining of laziness really

Kewcumber · 26/06/2008 09:27

oh god sushi - now you're going to start them all off on bleedin bread recipes

rosmerta · 26/06/2008 09:29

sfx, sj & I are going swimming this morning at Richmond if you want to join us. We are meeting at 10am though which I know is a bit early for you!

slng · 26/06/2008 09:34

Morning all!

I'm coming tonight! DH managed to move his night-out. Feel slightly guilty ... Anyway. How many of us? Shall I phone to book?

Sushi - I also make bread by hand. [smug] But intrigued with SJ's cheese-making. I do make yogurt though - not because I like it, but I can't stand the throwing away of all those plastic pots... On the subject of domestic goddess-ness, isn't it satisfying to see a washing line full of white (off-white, I mean, mustn't lie) terrys to dry. Am I sad or what. Definitely need nightout.

We made some cheat's version of batik painting yesterday. I was very impressed - kids and furniture were NOT covered in dye, and painting didn't all come out brown. I guess kids are growing up and becoming a bit more civilised ... (I'm sure they'll prove me wrong again soon enough!)

Must get back to work. Three more very dull things to do before lunch.

sfxmum · 26/06/2008 09:39

go on then slng book us in should be 5-6
thanks

ros/sj will you be going somewhere else afterwards? we are still starting breakfast and not counting on being anywhere before 11.30 at the earliest - enjoy swimming

KC is a cordon bleu chef

MrsRecycle · 26/06/2008 09:46

QC - Blame my DH. Hope this machine doesn't have the same destiny of other kitchen machineries in our kitchen (blender et at) - tucked well behind of tall cabinets and haven't seen them for yonks.

ComeOVeneer · 26/06/2008 10:00

Morning all. Had a bad night last night. DS was very restless and to make matters worse he fell out of bed! Suffice to say I am feeling pretty wiped out, so think I will give onight a miss, especially as we have a hectic weekend coming up. Have a good evening everyone.

So I see some of you lot are trying to steal my domestic godess crown. I make a lot of my own stuff (bread, yoghurt, icecream, mince, sausages, pasta etc) but have to say I've never attempted cheese!

slng · 26/06/2008 10:19

Cov you can keep your crown. No intention of making sausages or pasta! I have seen someone made some impromptu noodles in my own humble kitchen once and I concede defeat. I must say though the indian breads that we had in the indian cafes in Kuala Lumpur make me think I don't know the first thing about what bread really is ... (Don't worry - this is not a sudden attack of humility. I know experts when I see them...)

MrsRecycle · 26/06/2008 10:20

COV - sorry to hear about ds - poor thing, he seems to be going through it at the moment. Shame about tonight. Do you know what went on in the big house on Embercourt Road/Drive? I went past it last night and it was all taped off with Police surrounding it.

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 26/06/2008 10:22

Have made all of those things in my time - have even chined my own rack of lamb. Then DS arrived and I struggle to make a bed.

Kewcumber · 26/06/2008 10:24

actually I lie - never made sausages.

sfxmum · 26/06/2008 10:24

cov - poor ds hope he recovers and settles down soon

slng know what you mean about experts I am complete rubbish at presentation but try to make an effort on taste but I just don't practice enough I keep saying I will do my own yoghurt and should really get on with it soon

must sort out dd and go out, looks pretty out think will walk down to Richmond, or at least lollipop

sfxmum · 26/06/2008 10:26

did you kill it too
have made pasta before never ice cream

ComeOVeneer · 26/06/2008 10:36

Thanks forthe kind wishes for ds. Trouble is he just doesn't see danger, he just does whatever takes his fany. Last week he deided to take the wire out of the connection box of the scalextrix (sp) (other end still plugged into the wall) and put it in his mouth. Fortunately he only got a small shock resulting tn a blister on his lip, but it could have been a lot worse. I need eyes in the back of my head.

MrsRecycle · 26/06/2008 11:14

my philosphoy is they will only do it the once COV - dd2 was the same when she put her finger into the toaster (had to climb up to get to it) and switched it on. She never did it again. ds seems to be learning though, after my episode of him falling over when I'd mopped the floor, he now stands at the kitchen doorway and will not step on the floor. I had to show him it was dry and even now he tiptoes (good balance could be a ballerina )

Booked table for 6 for 8pm at hare and tortoise, under my first name.

sfxmum · 26/06/2008 13:52

slng I am pretty sure I can't pronounce your first name actually something I meant to ask you when we meet
