Other thread full, so hope you all find me

Sushi, sorry I don't know anyone but there is a nanny agency near Kew Bridge. Hope ds is ok, typical of them to get ill at exactly the wrong time, isn't it?!

Foxie, we've sent off our form so am hoping we get our first choice (Weymouth)!

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 26/05/2008 15:51

OMG is it Sound of Music?

dd now bouncing around, stuffing a kitchen roll insert full of wipes then deconstructing cardboard around wipes

must do ironing!

Announcement: dd has poo'd on the toilet both yesterday and today which is very exciting for us. and has just asked to go for a wee too!

she also plonked herself down next to a guy sitting on the edge of the sandpit at C&C and told him all about how she will get FiFi knickers when she does her poo and wee on the toilet!

what a lucky chap

sfxmum · 26/05/2008 15:51

dd is running around with wings wand feather and fairy skirt, calling herself a fairy princess. dh just made her a crown

Ros I love those songs, even the Portuguese versions{shock] meant to show dd Bug's life earlier but I was out.

I think I panicked in the cake shop

sfxmum · 26/05/2008 15:53

LOL paddle well done mini pads, dd did ask the postman once if he could do wee wee in the potty because she could

Paddlechick666 · 26/05/2008 17:18

lol SFX.

well we are having a nappy free afternoon and 1 poo and 2 wees later we are still accident free.

hmm, will i permanently damage her by putting her back in nappies tonight/tomorrow?

did my ironing, now just need to summon enthusiasm to a) pack and b) figure out where the hell I am going after dropping dd off at CM tomorrow!

It's Gloucester, that much I know!

lol

stepfordwife · 26/05/2008 17:55

..lol foxie..funnily enough i did tell her not to have any sex for a while...if looks could kill
after all, she is a good irish catholic widow woman

ohhh, i love a bit of religious tat, me..
i've got a madonna barometer!
her blue frock turns pink when it's raining
i love it..

i also love proper religious arty icon type stuff. never forget one very embarrassing moment in prague when we nearly purchased a madonna icon whch was about £60.000 or something because, due to a massive foul-up in currenecy conversion, we thought it was £60

so glad ds2 is back to his happy little self

wahey, well done mini-paddle! she'll be comparing fifi knickers with dd before we know it .

sfx, as usual, you've made me feel like some cake.
right, you've all distracted me as usual.. must get on with the very important task of my shopping list for dh's NY trip...
toodlepip

sfxmum · 26/05/2008 18:26

steppie is your dh likely to go near a bookshop? there is a book which I know was published in America but Amazon will not send it over

stepfordwife · 26/05/2008 18:46

what is it, sfx, and i'll ask him to try to get it

SJ99 · 26/05/2008 18:52

Well done mini-pads, yay! Will your CM let her be nappy free during the day? Might help her while she's on a roll

LOL Steppie at barometer, I suppose she's v.pink today

We have been jumping on the bed this afternoon and throwing soft toys around, DS in hysterics, oh to be a toddler again

sfxmum · 26/05/2008 19:07

Steppie - it is Marguerite Yourcenar - Eternity Regained, this is the 3rd volume of the autobiography which I have been trying to get for years
many thanks may well not be possible at all.

SJ - one of the reasons to be a parent isn't it? now do you think we get to act like teens when they get there?

stepfordwife · 26/05/2008 19:11

do you know who publisher is, sfx?
dh keeps reminding me he's only there for 2 days to work but he's an obliging chappie and know he won't mind trying,

stepfordwife · 26/05/2008 19:16

..and got to say your high-brow french novelist makes my list of wrinkle cream/skin booster cream/ under-eye bag zapper cream/soothing booster cream/ lok somewhat shallow

sfxmum · 26/05/2008 19:17

Aidan Ellis is the publisher but I think it might have been published by others in Canada with American editions, it is rare can only find it in french but I can't read French well enough for that book

anyway not to worry sure he has better things to do it was never published in England despite the previous 2 volumes having English editions

...I should stop now

sfxmum · 26/05/2008 19:19

probably not to a French woman steppie have pride in your priorities

stepfordwife · 26/05/2008 19:23

..you're obsessed, woman no, he'll give it a go and aybe strike lucky, but obvioulsy won't have loads of time to devote to it (what with my truck-load of toiletries and trying to avoid being sacked and all )

yes, you're right...hmmm, just adding the skin resurfacer to the list...

sfxmum · 26/05/2008 19:31

my priority when in a new place, before child, was to zoom in on all the bookshops.

dd seems very lively still, maybe after a bath she will be more sleepy. she is not happy that Kew Gardens are not doing the sand pit this year, should I encourage writing a letter of protest? or will they take a recording since she can yet write?

sfxmum · 26/05/2008 19:32

can't that is although she has been making an effort to write her name but at random places all over the page and sometimes outside the page

SJ99 · 26/05/2008 19:42

I can't believe that DS has been so good as to not write on the walls, so what does he do today just when we have few weeks left in the house - finds a pencil and runs into the living room to tell me he's been doing some drawing in the kitchen ON THE WALL

slng · 26/05/2008 21:09

SJ - maybe you can auction that piece of the wall like that Banksy stuff.

Not been up to much today. Went to the pub to have lunch with friends. That's about it. Some really child-friendly pubs in Ealing/Hanwell. Perhaps we should do a pub lunch outing.

sfxmum · 26/05/2008 22:29

wall art is a right for toddlers I think

I do so hope there will be some sunshine tomorrow

paddle will your travel be affected by the fuel protests?

Paddlechick666 · 26/05/2008 22:40

sfxmum · 26/05/2008 22:52
