Other thread full, so hope you all find me

Sushi, sorry I don't know anyone but there is a nanny agency near Kew Bridge. Hope ds is ok, typical of them to get ill at exactly the wrong time, isn't it?!

Foxie, we've sent off our form so am hoping we get our first choice (Weymouth)!

OP posts:
rosmerta · 24/05/2008 09:28

morning all, dh has gone off to play golf so just me & ds this morning. Am going to head off to the park in a little while so ds can play with his little girlfriend

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 24/05/2008 09:41

shhhhh. I have a headache..........

rosmerta · 24/05/2008 09:44

so paddle went out after all then

OP posts:
sfxmum · 24/05/2008 10:16

good morning all

hi sushi
paddle you minx tell all

waiting for my coaching team to get ready they want to go chase mummy down the path

  • go go faster faster
Paddlechick666 · 24/05/2008 16:50

yeah i went out, had a fun evening and a bit of a boogie. unfortunately managed to be a magnet for a nice guy but not the most scintilating person iyswim. all very hilarious for the others in the group

he's already texted me last night and rung me this morning. haven't responded to either as busy finding some sand in which to bury my head!

and before you ask, i did nothing other than be polite and converse to attract this attention.

rosmerta · 24/05/2008 18:33

Hi all, paddle glad you had a good night, shame about the stalker

Sfx, how was your cheering squad?

Ds has just had his first curry which went down very well, bit worried about his nappies tomorrow though! We went to a Sri Lankan restaurant on Northfields, very nice & tasty.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 24/05/2008 18:53

paddle - tart hope you had some fun, you really deserve some

ros - cheering squad deserted me shortly after Kew Bridge and went on to the gardens then out again for most of the day while I studied.
they are now making dinner and choc rice crispies cakes - could be worst[smile
BUT have you found your pelvis yet?
I sound like a Pilates teacher

hope everyone is well this weekend

sfxmum · 24/05/2008 18:55

ros dd is very fond of popamdoms with yoghurt which is what she understands as having a curry I can't call it curry otherwise she will protest it is spice but will eat if we call it casserole

Paddlechick666 · 24/05/2008 19:04

stalker update: he called again and blocked his number so i answered it

said i'd call him back as was doing dd's tea which was the truth.

wonder how things will progress from now on.... am really not good at doing the whole "i'm not interested" thing.

dd enjoyed tandoori chicken and lentils when we were in sweden last year. haven't been any more adventurous since tho.

ros, am very worried about your pelivs.

might take dd swimming tomorrow and possibly science museum on monday.

weather forecast is dire for both days

rosmerta · 24/05/2008 19:05

Nope, pelvis is well & truly gone . Dh has offered to pay for another one though!

Ds was a big fan of the poppadums with mango chutney and some raita. But also had some biryani and naan. I'm definitely going to make some at home for him as he did seem to enjoy it.

OP posts:
sfxmum · 24/05/2008 19:15

dhal is usually a winner as is any rice based dish.

paddle just be direct, am assuming he didn't get subtlety so far

yes weather forecast is dire no idea what I will do as dh asked me to entertain child while he finishes a project.
in fact the entire week looks awful

Paddlechick666 · 24/05/2008 19:16

dd has just informed me that she will need goggles for swimming tomorrow because otherwise her eyes will get wet

where the heck did that come from? i asked her told her that and she said "just me"!

managed to fob her off that they don't do goggles small enough for her as they're for bigger kids and grown ups.

sfxmum · 24/05/2008 19:19

dd has asked the same and I always tell her she does not need them.
so we have conversations that go like this

  • mummy are we going to the shop to buy goggles for swimming?
actually let's not do that I don't need it

currently using same strategy regarding Lelly Kelly shoes, but that was advertising on Nick Jr

Paddlechick666 · 24/05/2008 19:20

i viewed my "forever" house yesterday. way out of budget and unfortunately located not too far from a fish n chip shop and you could really smell it!

am waiting to view the one I think will do the trick. looks fab online, exactly location and position i want etc. couldn't view as vendors gone away and forgot to leave key!

will put links of FB for you to check out.

rosmerta · 24/05/2008 19:21

I finally saw what Lelly Kelly shoes were , they're awful! One reason I don't like Nick Jr is the adverts but ds does like Thomas & Peppa!

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 24/05/2008 19:26

btw, ignore their listed prices as they are heaps more reduced than that now and would take offers.....

sfxmum · 24/05/2008 19:47

Ros yes exactly on all counts

paddle will look up don't fancy the smell of fried food everyday - love those virtual tours

am looking for an allotment preferably quite local but the council are not even accepting new names on the waiting list

SJ99 · 24/05/2008 20:47

Paddle - good for you having a fun night out. Pity about stalker but at least it's good ego boost

Sfx - too bad about allotment, DH wants one when we move, I'm sure he'll be faced with the same story

Ros - Meal sounds nice. DS also likes Indian foods esp my mum's samosas!

Had my booking in appointment today which was fine apart from when she couldn't find baby's heart beat She sent me off to the scanning unit but there was big queue so the lady there checked me and eventually they found heart beat - panic over with, naughty baby must've been playing hide & seek

fitfox · 24/05/2008 23:05

Ros - PSL at your wandering pelvis!!! Have you found it yet?

SFX Ricmond Salon on kew rd - ask for Coralee

SLNg

...nearly called an ambulance today as we thought DS2 had meningitus - panic over now - ish

Paddlechick666 · 25/05/2008 08:30

morning, gawd what a miserable day.

foxie, that must've been scary. is ds2 okay now? what d'you think he's got/had?

anyone know what the cafe at pools in the park is like? think we will brave the sunday morning swimathon and have lunch out - beats making it here!

afternoon of domesticity i think. laundry, freezer filling and a roast chicken dinner.

am losing enthusiasm for science museum tomorrow but can't think of anything else to do on a rainy bank holiday

SJ99 · 25/05/2008 09:55

It's so wet I think we're going to Ikea, will probably be packed

Haven't been to cafe, let us know what it's like.

Foxie - how's DS2?

mellow2 · 25/05/2008 10:20

Miserable day.

Foxie,
I hope ds2 is better.

I hope everyone is having a decent bank holiday weekend.

sfxmum · 25/05/2008 12:03

hello all

SJ how scary, glad all is well with the baby, sometimes midwifes are rubbish trying to find the heart
about allotments I checked again last night after posting and it seems they are taking names again.

Foxie what is up with ds2?
thanks regarding hairdresser will make appointment.

paddle this is probably too late but the cafe is ok and they try to do the order they way you like it but it is very fast food based.

rubbish weather

rosmerta · 25/05/2008 13:31

hi all, we've been to the Science Museum this morning. Ds seemed to enjoy it, though it was busy.

Not sure what else we're going to do!

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 25/05/2008 15:20

we had a really nice time swimming i have to say.

changing room wasn't packed altho the pool was pretty busy. lots of very easy on the eye dads with their kids

timed it right so changing room was nearly empty and lunch was pretty good too.

sfx, true about the menu but dd is getting partial to a jacket and cheese and beans which is a pretty good option imo.

sj, sorry didn't say earlier but thank goodness all well with baby. it's very scary when they hunt around for a while isn't it.

right, gotta get that bird in the oven shortly and need to iron too business trip this week. bummer......
