Hi, I moved to Redbourn last year and looking to join or start a book club. Could you please let me know of a local one or if anyone is interested in starting one?

Hi! I am ok with the choice of book, but due to moving houses next week it is most likely that I won't be able to read the book on time. Any chance we can postpone it for a week or so??

Am I correct in thinking that Harpenden is the best choice for all?

Can't make the 20th - husband might object, given it is our 10th wedding anniversary! But if every one else is free and wants to go ahead then, please do - but let me know the next book and meet up date!

Does anyone have any sugesstions on where to meet in Harpenden?

There's Costa and Cafe Nero and some other local coffee shops. I think most are open until 6.00/7.00 p.m. during the week days.

There's also The Harpenden Arms,The Slug and Lettuce and The George for pubs...

Do you think it would be best to meet in a pub, as you say,- coffee shops close quite early in the evening.

I'm new to Harpenden, so haven't actually sampled any of the local pubs yet. Do you have a preference on any that you have listed? A quieter one, perhaps? I'm not sure loud music would encourage our discussion.......!

I haven't been to many of the pubs in Harpenden either..but have noticed the The Harpenden Arms tends to get pretty busy. If it's ok with everyone shall we try The George?? [hsmile]
