Dolphin was local and moved to the stickiest sticks of Ireland and we still let her post on here sometimes

Lopo · 17/03/2011 23:02

Hi everyone. Thought I'd pop my toe in the water. I am a mum of 4 children and moved to Richmond 2 years ago. Would be really nice to make some local friends. :)

sfxmum · 17/03/2011 23:03

I am neither young or trendy but enjoy embarrassing the children and have long lost all shameShock

dustythedolphin · 18/03/2011 12:51

Hi Lopo, I grew up in Richmond (Kew) and recently left for Ireland, but its a great place to life. So many parks/river walks/restuarants/good schools AND two M&S food halls [ink]

vbus · 18/03/2011 13:47

hello all

Hello Lopo and Small print Smile I am in Teddington with 2 boys. Tell us more about yourselves

dusty - hope you enjoyed the celebrations!

Kora - sorry to Grin, hope you can get a new table

Conman has been reported to the relevant bodies, hope that's the end of him.

DS1 had class assembly today, cute. We have school social tonight, should be fun

sfxmum · 18/03/2011 14:40

vbus · 18/03/2011 16:34

She's such a fountain of knowledge Grin

TheSmallPrint · 18/03/2011 16:37

Afternoon all. Well, I lived in Ealing (and surrounding bits) for over 30 years (other than when at University)before following work out to Bucks. Still have family and friends in west London and Twickenham so am back all the time - it's only 25/30 minutes in the car so not really a big move Grin. I have two boys 7 and 3.

I used to do a lot of work around Kew, Richmond and Barnes - I miss the Maids of Honour cakes I used to sneakily pick up on my way back - mmmmm.

sfxmum · 18/03/2011 17:57

Hi smallprint I have a near 6yr old and used to work a lot around Ealing

request please does anyone have a fabulous fridge freezer you can recommend I am thinking of getting this Opinions?
that is as wide as I can go but I need to go bigger from our current midget one, apparently for people who don't eat fresh foodHmm
TIA

vbus must tell you about her description of a busy mum's day

OP posts:
Kora · 18/03/2011 18:03

Welcome small print and lopo!

Sfx, you haven't been on the gwynnie website have you? Grin Must admit took a look the other day, i eat everything I'm not supposed to it seems. Hmm Weezer tickets on sale today, but not sure I can face schlep to Brixton Academy these days, but if anyone feels up to it or fancies seeing something else let me know! Still no news for south bank meltdown...

At home with the girls today, as swapped my days off. Somehow bit more tiring on a Fri than Monday, less energy left. But still been lovely to chill out with them. And finally saw Rastamouse, DD1 loves it and oblivious to fuss about it (this is what my TV viewing has come to).

We're stuck with the table forever it seems, long story. Learning to live with it... Hoping DDs will take after DH and get very tall. It'll just be me on a bar stool.

vbus · 18/03/2011 18:05

Smallprint - nice to live close enough to come back to visit family & friends, I guess you have the best of both worlds!

Sfx - I have read a interview with her on said subject Hmm, clearly on a different planet

Don't know anything much about fridges but the one on link looks pretty good. Will need to make fridge decisions in coming mths too if we get approval for extension

Only 1hr 20mins to go til night out and it's stopped raining woo hoo!

Kora · 18/03/2011 18:15

Oops, realised it was a Gwyn article, you must send on a link if you have it, need a laugh. Just checked out Which website and several fridge freezers of that brand got a "best buy" rating, so seem decent bet - good luck! (Check dimensions, very carefully unlike others might Blush)

HAve a good night out vbus.

By the way, lopo and small print, I live in Kew with two girls (4 and 8 months). Grew up in Sheen so know the area fairly well - went to N. London for a bit, v nice but came back as hankered after river and trees and generally feeling of home.

sfxmum · 18/03/2011 18:17

Kora love Brixton Academy was there just last December floor not as sticky as they once were

  • I am a fool and on an idle moment subscribed to her newsletter, it is hilarious although I don't always read it, love the fabulousness of it all and her utter lack of self awareness

vbus yeah for night out enjoy
re fridge my friend has great Bosh one not sure if same model

wine bottle open

OP posts:
sfxmum · 18/03/2011 18:18

there you go laugh

OP posts:
sfxmum · 18/03/2011 18:21

just get a nice bar stool matching the high chairs Grin

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 18/03/2011 19:02

I have no idea about fridges but I would guess you were safe with a Bosch? I need to sort my kitchen so let me know if you get it and are happy, recommendations are always useful!

UptoapointLordCopper · 18/03/2011 19:59

Hello!

sfx - our fridge about the same dimension but narrow. Replacement would be tricky. Anyway it't about the right size for us, with fresh food and some frozen food (mostly bread and cookies). I am fresh-food-fiend. Have mental block about frozen meals. Very crippling.

School going to have Royal Wedding Special Lunch. FFS.

Will reserve Gwyn article for later when it is impossible to get any more exasperated.

sfxmum · 18/03/2011 20:06

thanks for feedback regarding fridge
I need to replace the flooring too which should probably be done before Hmm

don't thin I have enough cash what with Summer hols and all

Royal Wedding lunch?!!! don't they have a day off?

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 18/03/2011 22:06

I have spent so much money in teh last 10 years on expensive posh fridges. Boed with it all I went for the biggest cheap sridge I could get and its been brilliant. BEKO. You can come and admire it if you like. Beats all my fancy american stylee ones into a cocked hat and cost less than tehy wanted for repairs to the last one!

Kewcumber · 18/03/2011 22:09

www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/beko-cda751fs-fridge-freezer-silver-00939771-pdt.html

I think it was on special offer when I bought it so about £50 less. Cavernous.

sfxmum · 18/03/2011 22:39

muddled on measurements is that height depth and width?

mine works fine but it is too small for our requirements but we can't really go wider than 60cm and that will already be a tight fit
option on door opening also a good idea

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 18/03/2011 22:51

mine is 70" as I had the room but they do 60cm ones
