Dusty, that sound so exciting, fingers crossed

tillyfernackerpants · 13/03/2011 20:57

Some rumours re Reading lineup not that it seems like any of us can go!!

SushiMummy · 13/03/2011 21:38

Evening all.

dusty - v exciting, hope all goes well for you.

Have been checking Google Person Finder every hour but no news there. I remember her house being on the mountain side so hopefully she and her family are safe. There are thousands of people stuck in the northern towns and because of the roads still under water/shut down the aids can't get to them. They have amazing strength to stay calm but time is running out quickly.

Kewcumber · 14/03/2011 01:00

Dusty that sounds fab.

Sushi - awful situation, no-one could have been better prepred than the Japanese and no doubt their building codes and procedures saved thousands of lives but there are some things you just can;t stop. Hope you have good news soon.

Lovely night out and an added bonus of hug from owner/manager/waiter (no iea which!) - most action I;ve had in 2 years... should I go back for coffee next weekend? Wink

Kora · 14/03/2011 09:15

Hi everyone! So nice to meet lots of you on Saturday, brilliant night, thanks for fab company - dh gave me lie in next day so managed to sleep off the wine and food - perfect! Can't wait for next meet-up, and perhaps a gig or two...

Dusty, best of luck with move!

Sushi, thinking of you, so horrible what's happened, I recall my parents telling me about quakes in Chile and nothing on that scale recently, but they bring such a helpless feeling. Hope you make contact with loved ones soon, and wish all best for rebuilding.

Kew - so did you pull then? WinkEnvy

Kewcumber · 14/03/2011 12:41

ah sadly not - though charming I suspect he was the owner and just flirting with the customers to ensure return visits (it worked!)

sfxmum · 14/03/2011 13:25

I am definitely going back, not for the owner so much but thought the chef balanced well tradition with some quirkiness while keeping it simple, also thought the woman (mother?) was very lovely and bossyGrin

chopped hair today, lovely sunshine

sushi thinking of you as well

People are trying to evacuate Tokyo (some leaving the country - air tickets sold out for the week). Panic reaction is starting. Food dissapearing. I fear for their safety.

dustythedolphin · 15/03/2011 11:20

Foreign Diplomats are being told to leave too due to radiation levels :(:(:(

stepfordwife · 15/03/2011 14:21

hello all

sushi, i'm so sorry. it's so sad and the scale of devastation is impossible to comprehend.

hi dusty - did you get my reply on FB? wrote at length but not sure if sent it Blush

vbus - have sent you a rambling interesting message on FB.

march is one of those mad months at steppie towers - wall-to-wall birthdays and increasingly complicated arrangements/surprise parties. dh and i are going away sat night to celebrate our anniversary..first night we've had away by ourselves for two years , so looking forward to it.
bet we argue Grin

toodlepip

sfxmum · 15/03/2011 16:48

hello all

another beautiful day

sushi it is heartbreaking

steppie glad you had a nice birthday, and the anniversary sounds promising, fighting and all (there is always making up)

dh was working from home but was called in due to surprise inspection, some poor sod thought it was a prank from his colleagues as it is his last day
not expecting dh home early today

Hello!

sushi - SadSadSad

Had a clearing-out day in between working - fun work: trying to use up money to buy books. Smile What can be better?

But had to clear things out. Having a bloody big box of tent + accessories plonked in the middle of the living room makes you want to declutter everywhere... Don't know if tent will fit in car. Hmm

vbus · 15/03/2011 20:50

Sushi - you must be worried sick Sad Sad the scenes on the news are still shocking

Steppie - I'll check out Fb message. Glad your b'day celebrations went well and enjoy the child free time in hotel Envy

dustythedolphin · 15/03/2011 22:33

Steppie noooooooooooo didn't get a mssge! Grin

Have a brill weekend and when you feel a disagreement with DH bubbling, just take a deep breath Wink

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/03/2011 11:40

Hello!

Slightly foggy day here.

Is it difficult to understand that the principle function of a house is to be lived in, not to be cleaned? Never mind, she'll soon get the hang of it. I'm NOT pulling out the tv/computer desks so that the tangle of cables behind can be cleaned. It's hidden, FFS. Who cares if it's filthy there? Or is that too slatternly?

Had window cleaners round yesterday. Now we can actually see out of the windows. Grin
