Hi Kora, nice to have another Buffy fan Wink, ds1 likes the Aunty Mabel games as well!

Just watching something whilst I have lunch & MN, there is an actress with the name Sheri Moon Zombie Confused

vbus · 24/11/2010 14:00

Tilly - what a bizarre name Hmm indeed
I've just had a promo email suggesting I buy a jedi style dressing gown for someone for Christmas Confused Grin

Kora - Will look up Aunty Mabel, hadn't heard of that one. DS1 dead into Alphablocks and Mr Tumble game on beebies website

Been doinga zillion jobs today. Got half way through wrapping pass the parcel game and have run out of wrapping paper, d'oh. Do you think anyone would mind if I finished off wrapping with newspaper?

Time for quick power nap now

sfxmum · 24/11/2010 14:01

tilly are you watching trashy American soaps again?ShockGrin

Cbeebies site rules here,my laptop is regularly hijacked for that and Poisson Rouge

have an essay due next Wedneday so off course took the opportunity of a quiet day to do tons of ironing and tidying then went for a short run that turned into a longer one and now having a late lunch and .... oh dear it is almost time to pick up the child...shame

and regarding Buffy, KewC you of all people would really enjoy the humour same for lordcopper

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 24/11/2010 15:50

sorry just can't bring myself to watch anyone called buffy that doesn't involve childrens TV.

UptoapointLordCopper · 24/11/2010 16:14

Hello!

Buffy OK, I suppose. Only seen a few episodes. Have a feeling that I won't be able to stand too much of it though. But quite enjoy the Buffy vs Edward vid. Grin

Have also watched a few episodes of Desperate Housewife. Is that the same? Grin Again, enough funny bits to watch now and then but not enough to make a commitment to. Also too stressful if it makes you feel like kicking some of the people. I meet enough people like that in real life (not you lot, of course Wink) so would like my fictitious encounters to be a bit less upsetting.

Will stick to reading the zillion recipe books I got for birthday. Smile

vbus · 24/11/2010 17:54

Kew - you can't knock it til you try it Wink

Also a fan of Desperate Housewives. Alas with these things Copper you're right, it takes far too much tv commitment to keep up, so I watch the boxsets at my own pace (does mean I'm badly behind real tv scheduling!)

What books did you get? hope you had a good birthday. I got an ipod for mine and am loving it Smile

UptoapointLordCopper · 24/11/2010 18:21

I got the good food magazine cookbook, which is useful, and a pie book, which means we are all going to be very fat in the coming year. Grin

But I've got my eye on a couple more cook books... This one, in particular, which I got from the library and have done a few recipes in it and have got a few more to try ...

sfxmum · 24/11/2010 18:21

ipod is essential for sanity I find, glad you had a nice time

lordcopper hope you had an enjoyable birthday, will ignore the 'Buffy is like DH' slur Grin

boxset are good to catch up with good telly, I find I have very little patience for normal telly and I use iplayer a fair bit because of that, but alas not everything I like is on the BBC and some of the other players are far too much faff

dh finished his Christmas shopping I am astonished

UptoapointLordCopper · 24/11/2010 20:53

That Nigel Slater mushrooms and breadcrumb thing looks yummy. Envy

dustythedolphin · 25/11/2010 14:27

lol I can't get myself to watch anyone called Buffy either - that name really puts me off, though I'm sure its good

Am starting to wonder whether I have been insane moving to Ireland Confused

dustythedolphin · 25/11/2010 14:28

SFX agree with you about "normal telly"

I live on reruns od LittleBritain/Dr Who/Jonathon Creek/Outnumbered on UK Gold :):)

sfxmum · 25/11/2010 14:45

hello so is everyone frozen today?

dusty what's up? it has only been a year and your old house just been sold is it that kind of wobble?

Kora I am know looking around for people who might be youGrin saw a woman on a bike with a child in the back just after 9am by main road bus stop, was that you?

essay to write still haven't started
anyway seeing teacher tonight I wonder if she will give me details on the marriage proposal, apparently her new best is a boy and we were told yesterday they would be starting a family of their own when they grow up 'with babies and everything' Hmm
courtship seem to have started with a note in her bag 'from X to minisfx' and a drawing of an octopus

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 25/11/2010 15:03

A bit frozen here, but about to embark on journey through park to pick up kids. Catch up on thread later.

Hang in there Dusty!

tillyfernackerpants · 25/11/2010 18:27

Freezing here!!

Dusty, hope you're ok!

I hope Copper made it home or has she been frozen whilst crossing the park?!

UptoapointLordCopper · 25/11/2010 18:32

Hello!

I'm here, tilly! Not completely frozen despite having to sit around while kids played at the playground.

So Dusty, what's up?

Sfx - gift of octopus always sign of imminent matrimony. Grin Hmm

UptoapointLordCopper · 25/11/2010 20:59

Am enjoying the Clegg verb thread. Grin

sfxmum · 25/11/2010 21:03

Grin reminds me of the ska video circulating on youtube

glad to hear you made it home Lordcopper

parent's evening was interesting and quite funny

some of the things told about the teacher were right

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 25/11/2010 21:06

Glad you're home safe Copper, this is why I'm avoiding parks atm, no way am I standing around while the boys play!!

Also loving the new verb!!

sfxmum · 26/11/2010 13:53

vbus · 26/11/2010 15:34

Hello

Crazy days with 2 more birthdays this week. making Nigella's choc fudge cake for Ds1 birthday, it looks far too good for kiddies to eat Grin

Dusty - how are you feeling today?

Sfx - octopus pic must mean true love

Copper - link is hilarious Grin

Ds1 gone out for his 1st bike ride. When I bought it they advised us not to buy stabilisers Shock will be keen to hear how he gets on. Meanwhile best get on with few more jobs before boys get back

hope everyone has a nice (snowy) wkend!

UptoapointLordCopper · 26/11/2010 16:09

Went to park again. Park may be cold, but it takes grumpy kids in at one end and transforms them into semi-civilised human beings at the other end. Well worth it, I think. Smile

vbus - how did DS1 get on with the bike?

odetothewestwing · 26/11/2010 16:19

Dusty do you mean re economic situation? Hope all is ok and everybody well and happy.

SFX - congratulations on Mr SFX's job! I'm sure this is old news, am so out of touch.

vbus - send us a virtual piece of choccy cake, pleeeeeeze.

Copper - concur with you re: park action! Always works a treat. Shame that we have been unable to go this week as ds is "off colour" - cue lots of sleepless nights, long days and a fed-up mummy! And dh is out in London again tonight, it's ok for some! Still - have some lovely friends visiting at the weekend so hopefully that will buck me up Grin

UptoapointLordCopper · 26/11/2010 20:04

Weekend!

Friend came to visit with DD. Kids (mainly just DS1 and DS2) demolished 3 grown-up portions of sushi rice, and a tuna steak, and a packet of smoked salmon, and prawns, and cucumber, and nearly an entire packet of nori. Shock This is too expensive. >

Kids in bed now. Pretty hyper earlier, despite park visit.

Now to the washing up and a glass of something.

tillyfernackerpants · 26/11/2010 21:53

vbus, how did ds1 get on with the bike? Dh has been reading that they should never use stabilisers, apparently its why the balance bikes are so good, they quickly get used to balancing their weight & can then move onto pedalling!

Ds1 does struggle with his bike, much prefer the scooter!

Copper, Watermans are showing Harry Potter first week of Jan, do you fancy going if you're around?
