Hello!

Had ILs round. Result: overexcited children.

Hate Sunday nights. Not looking forward to Monday Sad.

sfxmum · 15/11/2010 19:22

hello how is everyone getting on today?

over here the school's Christmas production has been cast and dd is ....drum roll In the choir
I hope this means no costume to make

Hello!

Not a bad day - at least not as bad as expected. Sometimes it pays to be a pessimist. Grin

We have cake sale. With two days' notice. A trip to the co-op then. Or maybe Lidl? We have three Lidl within 5 minutes' drive. I thought there's supposed to be some sort of monopoly rule? Though there are 2 enormous tesco and innumerable smaller tescos within 10 minutes' drive. Hmm Hmm Luckily there is also a Waitrose. Grin

Our school doesn't ask for costumes. Phew! Don't know what's happening with Christmas play. The less the better. Bah humbug to it all.

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/11/2010 13:18

Hello!

Am disgusted at the news that Prince William asked thingummy's father's permission to ask for her hand. Good grief. Want to kick somebody.

sfxmum · 16/11/2010 19:04

LOL never mind they say these things to appease the old lady royalists, unlikely to be true (haven't they been shacked up for ages anyway?)

OP posts:
tillyfernackerpants · 16/11/2010 20:00

lol sfx, we all know you're a secret Hello reader Grin

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/11/2010 20:11

Old lady royalists are unlikely to be around for too long. They should be appeasing us and stop being such arses. Angry

Grin
vbus · 16/11/2010 20:20

Copper - have you kicked someone yet? Grin

Been busy but week with birthday season going on in our house. I've decided to keep up DS2's birthday banner for the whole month as I can't be bothered taking it down/putting it up Grin

Hope everyone is well. Went to see friend's 2wks old baby this morning, cute. Had Ds1 friend from nursery this afternoon who is now at different school, they all seemed to have a good time, phew I'm knackered. Have already started on the mulled wine Hmm

sfxmum · 16/11/2010 21:00

tilly why do you say such things about me?
Hmm

vbus since this is a month of celebrations at yours you might as well go all out, then you can rest at Christmas

had a busy day today met the surgeons registrar as he obviously couldn't be arsed to meet me, had bloods done and as usually freaked out the nurses, my veins are hard to find and I quite like needlesGrin

also go some hard wearing outdoorsy clothing for dd from that lovely shop Polarn O Pyret now she can get well muddy and keep warm in style

OP posts:
vbus · 16/11/2010 21:21

POP shop is great, that was the main choice when living in Sweden, that or H&M for kids clothes, not much inbetween

That is freaky about liking needles

tillyfernackerpants · 16/11/2010 21:27

awww sfx, only joking (promise wasn't anywhere near hairdressers on Mon!)

Is POP online? Or is there a shop nearby? Could do with some decent stuff for ds2

Boys seem to be getting better, ds1 still has a nasty cough though

vbus · 16/11/2010 21:30

there's one in Kingston

glad dc are getting better Smile

sfxmum · 16/11/2010 21:41

POP has a shop in Kingston, Bentall, apparently been open for 2 yrs, weirdly I had never noticed it before and always got stuff online but I love it, durable and great colours

I watched a bit of the royal interview, goodness me they are very alike aren't they, apparently her mum owns the mail order birthday business Party Pieces blimey that is common Grin

Tilly speaking of Hello, they have a far more royal obsessed Spanish version, all sorts of Euro Royals without kingdoms and their useless offspring as well as Julio Iglesias and his many children
this one is the least embarrassing pretender to the Portuguese throne, but still a deluded fool

OP posts:
sfxmum · 16/11/2010 21:44

tilly good to hear the boys are better

have night out booked with dh for next Monday, I am a bit apprehensive as dd seems to be hesitant about the prospective babysitter, our upstairs neighbour

OP posts:
UptoapointLordCopper · 16/11/2010 21:56

POP clothes look lovely and warm. Impossible to get DS2 into fleecies though. We have quite a few unused jumpers for 4-5yos if anyone is interested. Mostly Tesco stuff though ...

European royals are quite funny. At least they are not doing any harm if they haven't got kingdoms to lay waste to. Malaysia has LOTS of royal houses and they take turns being king. Quite civilised, really, all things considered. Grin

School's out tomorrow for Eid. DH at home. Me at work. Sad

UptoapointLordCopper · 16/11/2010 21:56

Where have I left my mobile phone charger?

SushiMummy · 17/11/2010 07:48

Good morning, all.

Had the first parents evening with the teacher last night. Before we left, Mum predicted what the teacher would say and she was spot on!Shock (Mum was a teacher, tho.Grin)

Have a nice day all.

tillyfernackerpants · 17/11/2010 09:16

Copper, if you don't need them, I'd be interested in those jumpers. Ds1 could do with a few more!

vbus · 17/11/2010 11:29

Sushi - hope parents evening went well and hope your mum enjoys the rest of her trip.

It's funny in Sweden POP was bit of uniform but here the kids stand out as not many wear their clothes which I love

Off to Kingston later as DS1 on playdate with the friend who I hadn't met before, you may recall I wanted to know how to arrange playdate with this unknown boy. Anyway he came over few wks back and I got chatting to the dad and it turned out we were at uni at same time on same course Shock Grin small world. I do vaguely remember him now, I'm slightly worried what he may remember about me though!

Kewcumber · 17/11/2010 13:30

Now Sushi thats coy - I will extort out of you what they said (presumably teacher didn;t say it in Japanese though?) How is DS handling full days? Our parents evening isnext week, interested in what she is going to say but can;t beleiveits going to be anything earth shattering either way - except probably "talks too much!"

DS is donkey in school play not a donkey you understand but *the donkey. A starring (though non-verbal I assume) role. Nanny is already planning the best way to make a donkey suit...

vbus · 17/11/2010 13:50

Wow, just had the most amazing cake delivered courtesy of Dh friend (the one who invited himself over in the summer). Nice surprise Smile

KC - well done DS for getting donkey role!

sfxmum · 17/11/2010 14:11

hello

vbus lovely tasty surprise, how was play date?

KewC without the donkey they would not have got thereGrin last year I think the don key was dressed in grey with donkey ears

dd is delighted that her wardrobe guidance is 'party clothes something sparkly'

weird day, having been battling insomnia which was particularly bad last night, so after packing family out of door I went back to bed and slept until 12.30, it is mad since all my plans for today have gone out of the window but on the other hand I just wasn't able to function properly

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 17/11/2010 14:16

to be fair I'm not sure DS auditioned and beat of a whole load of hopefuls with his donkey impression. Think it was more a case of him being unlikely to bolt (they don;t yet realise the bigger problme will be getting him off the stage)

Met an intermittent mumsnetters who wanted to talk about local schools today "Kora" - very nice and suitable to be admitted to the RL circle Grin. Will try to drag her over here - lives near you SFX

sfxmum · 17/11/2010 14:21

just how local/ near are we talking about? Grin

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 17/11/2010 14:25
