I've noticed there are a few of us now, Brussels, Leuven, Antwerp, elsewhere?

We're approaching that period where the weather might be reasonably nice, so I thought it might be good to organise something if you're interested.

I have no real idea of how to go about this, but have to start somewhere.....

Let me know!

ScaryTeacher is in! I hope she is scary in RL !

I'm definitely looking forward to a cuddle with LPOs TINY one. If our grubby fingers are allowed near..... Belgo, I have to bypass Leuven and have no dc so there is room in the back (one booster seat in situ) if you want picking up....in a non hairy handed trucker kind of a way....

PortofinoLovesItUpTheOxoTower · 28/07/2009 20:30

And Longtime, don't worry - I am also in my 40s! Well I'm 40 and definitely class myself in the "can't get off a picnic blanket without help/groaning" camp.

LPO · 28/07/2009 20:33

He's not so tiny anymore, he's growing soooooooooooo big now I can't believe it!
But he is very nice to cuddle, when he's in a good mood that is...

RuthChan · 28/07/2009 20:56

Hi guys. Really looking forward to tomorrow. You can find me on FB too. I too will be easy to spot because I'll be struggling along with two squawking DCs. Anyone who'd like a cuddle with a small one is more than welcome to relieve me of DS!!

belgo · 29/07/2009 08:06

Thanks for the offer, but I'll be fine, it's always an adventure on the bus, a couple of weeks ago I got caught in the bus doors when they closed on me - ds was in the sling and everyone on the bus screamed at the driver to open the doors again - it was rather dramatic! and then the next week dd1 nearly got hit by a bike when the bus stopped directly onto a bike path and I was rushing to get everyone off the bus (before the doors closed on me again obviously). We'll be fine, we have plenty of experience!

belgo · 29/07/2009 08:07

I really have to turn off the computer and start making sandwiches etc.

belgo · 29/07/2009 16:11

What a nice afternoon , lovely meeting you all. I now have one exhausted dd2 conked out in the pushchair, covered in ice cream; and dd1 who as usually still has not run out of energy and is pestering me to play a board game. Ds is full of beans after his long sleep and I am knackered from the bus and the sun!

It was well worth it, it's a beautiful park.

I hope we can all meet up again, and the others who couldn't make it, feel free to email me anytime

belgo · 29/07/2009 16:17

and it's incredible none of us got stung by those wasps who plagued us!

Porto - the strawberries and doughnuts were lovely.
Sleepmore - sorry I missed you to say goodbye; your two children are gorgeous.

monkeybumsmum · 29/07/2009 17:13

I was just thinking exactly the same about those blasted wasps on the drive home belgo! Lucky they weren't more aggressive...

It was so nice to meet everyone this afternoon, and to see you too Ruthchan I pigged out on the rest of the picnic on the way home and seeing as ds had conked out in the car, when we pulled into the drive I did too

I'm so glad that we all managed to make it today, and will be looking forward to the next time, when hopefully scary'll be able to join us too

Am now off to search for the Oxo Tower thread Porto

RuthChan · 29/07/2009 19:54

Hi everyone!! Thanks for today. All 3 of the Ruth Clan had great fun. I hope we can meet again soon and hopefully include some of those who couldn't make it.

LPO · 29/07/2009 19:59

I also had a great day and will look forward to seeing you all again, and hopefully Oscar will be his smiley self again!

LongtimeinBrussels · 29/07/2009 20:47

Great time had here too - really enjoyed meeting everyone. Girls loved the swimming pool. Count me in for the next one!

Portofino · 29/07/2009 21:44

I had a good time too and had some gorgeous babies to cuddle! Dd, when I picked her up, didn't stop talking for an hour about her exciting day - at Harry Malters near Ghent. So we both had a good day. Def up for another one. We also talked about a night out? New threads needed maybe? And maybe we can actually get our 5yos together one day Belgo?

belgo · 31/07/2009 07:46

Porto- I'm sure my girls would love to meet your dd, email me and we can arrange something.

Ruthchan- after what you said the other day I've just looked up your birth story on mumsnet - and WOW! It's great to see your ds doing so well after a rather scary start to life.
