I've noticed there are a few of us now, Brussels, Leuven, Antwerp, elsewhere?

We're approaching that period where the weather might be reasonably nice, so I thought it might be good to organise something if you're interested.

I have no real idea of how to go about this, but have to start somewhere.....

Let me know!

ScaryTeacher is in! I hope she is scary in RL !

Thanks monkeymum!

Portofino · 22/07/2009 10:52

Hope the weather forecast is good!

monkeybumsmum · 22/07/2009 11:00

So do I Porto!

What time did we say we'd meet?

Portofino · 22/07/2009 11:36

I don't think we did yet. Belgo was going to suggest a suitable meet up place at Kessel-Lo I think....

belgo · 22/07/2009 12:15

I think we said 1pm? Earlier is fine with me.

We can either met up at the entrance to Parking 1 (P1), and then go to the main adventure playground, but if anyone is late it may be difficult to find each other.

Or

meet at one of the cafes (Stille Waters).

here Is a website with a pdf map.

monkeybumsmum · 22/07/2009 12:36

1pm is fine for me too, but earlier would be better if possible. Just thinking of how long I'll get out of ds before he starts being a monkey If it's at 1 though I'll try to get him to sleep in the car on the way there...

Either place would be good to meet, but I can see the problem if someone's late. Shall we say the cafe then, and we can go back to the playground once everyone's there?

Ruth and I went to a cafe very close to the swimming pool - is that the one you mean?

belgo · 22/07/2009 12:43

No I don't think that's the cafe. The one near the pool is more like a kiosk with car outside?

Stille Waters is a restaurant close to the Ecocentrum, also in the same corner of the domein as the swimming pool. There is a pond outside of the restarant and you have to go over a little bridge to the tables and chairs which are also outside. I will look for a picture. It is between parking 1 and parking 2, but closer to P2. We could stay there for an hour and then go to the playground?

What time shall we meet there? Is 11am good for anyone? Or 12?

belgo · 22/07/2009 12:44

In my first line I mean chairs not 'car'!

belgo · 22/07/2009 12:46

here is the link to Stille waters, it's the second on the page.

monkeybumsmum · 22/07/2009 13:43

Thanks Belgo

11am is good for me, but I will go with the majority

belgo · 22/07/2009 14:08

Yes I will also go with the majority vote regarding the time.

belgo · 22/07/2009 14:09

It's yet another very hot day isn't it?

LPO · 22/07/2009 15:44

Hi all, I can't do much earlier than 1pm as I have a hospital appointment for my DS.

belgo · 22/07/2009 16:28

Ok back to 1pm then

LPO · 22/07/2009 16:45

if that's a problem for others then I can come later?

Portofino · 22/07/2009 17:34

I'm easy (figuratively speaking)! I have the day off - hurrah! Hopefully the garderie won't have planned an exciting excursion that day that dd MUST go on....well I'd still come anyway. Today they have apparently been to Circus World (?) which was fabulous and that i must pay 8 euros for in the morning. I have no idea what/where this place is....

LongtimeinBrussels · 22/07/2009 22:22

Ah nee, de website van Kessel-Lo is in het Vlaams ! Oh, ik heb nu gezien dat je kan het in het Engels zetten !! Duh !

Anytime's good for me. Looked at the long-range weather forecast and next Wednesday is supposed to be okay but raining from Thursday onwards to days and days and days...

LongtimeinBrussels · 22/07/2009 22:38

Okay, I take that back, you can't actually put it in English. Never mind. I'm looking for a map of the whole place but can't seem to find one (just so that I can locate the Stille Waters café). Can anyone help?

belgo · 24/07/2009 11:54

No I can't find an online map of the actual park, but there are signs in the park, and Stille Waters is next to the Eco centrum or Eco huis, in the same corner of the park as the swimming pool, so if you find the swimming pool you can pick up a map there or ask directions.

belgo · 26/07/2009 15:32

Bump

LPO · 26/07/2009 15:39

Really looking forward to meeting you all on Wednesday and keep checking the weather forecast (at the moment light rain is expected).

I'm taking Ruthchan and she knows where to go (I think) so we're ok.
Is it 1pm?

belgo · 26/07/2009 15:42

Yes still 1pm

monkeybumsmum · 26/07/2009 16:50

See you all then, really looking forward to it!

PortofinoLovesItUpTheOxoTower · 27/07/2009 10:08

It's going to be hot apparently! Anyone thinking of taking swimming things?

Dd will demand to go in the pool once she sees it....but we can always come earlier/go later....

I'm looking forward to it too - but feel all shy!

LPO · 27/07/2009 11:10

I would love to go swimming but

1, it's only 3 months since I had him and not only do I also have the wobbly bit issue, but haven't managed to get round to buying a new swimsuit yet!

2, DS doesn't have a swimsuit yet

3, DS will have had his vaccinations that morning so will be likely to be teary as it is and taking him for his first swim experience is prob not the best idea.

Sorry to be the one that can't
