Papillon · 07/12/2006 12:35

so now we have do drum up some conversation... saw Piffle is round maybe she might have something exciting to say??

We could always talk aobut the weather - I think it is finally starting to clear up down there, its been murky, wet and windy and needs to sort itself out before we head off that way. You go for Xmas MaskedPoster? I leave on the 10th January (cannot WAIT)

He is back 4th Jan
Weather here in Lincs - wet wild and so very gale force windy is setting him up nicely for his stay in Wgtn

Choooooiceeeeee not heard that phraseology for ages!

WelshBoris · 07/12/2006 14:14

Did you know Piffle is a bit of a goer?

MerryPiffmas · 07/12/2006 16:33

Yes I go from NZ to the UK that's right

Papillon · 07/12/2006 16:40

have you not exhausted the kiwi male population yet piffle?

saw an article other day that a good bloke is hard to find, so if you find one the advice is jump on him

wadda you think... sounds like good advice?

OP posts:
MerryPiffmas · 07/12/2006 22:31

I hate to say this but I did go through quite a few in Wellington in my heyday
I had a bit of a meltdown
But I had to come to the UK to find a husband, to outrun my rep as it were
I've been a staid wench since 1997...

kjaylovessantamum · 08/12/2006 08:03

Hello all, nice surprise to find you here after my little break.
Have been a tad busy Paps as I have been booking a early bird flight for my europe trip next year and am doing all this family christmas stuff for the first time, seems to take lots of concentration for me!!!!Only I could manage to emigrate half way round the planet and end up having to send more christmas cards than usual, not complaining though, they're a smashing bunch.
Have been neglecting my yoga somewhat so have been in trouble with me old ailments a tad, whoops, have to try and keep it together over the festive period, boring but true!!
Hey guess what, talking about the weather, the sun shone twice this week, yeeha, Ds actually managed to get into the sand pit I built for him six weeks ago, great stuff eh!!

theXmaskedposter · 08/12/2006 09:18

lol at piffle exhausting the NZ male population and coming to the UK to 'bag a hubby'... I was nothing like that ... ah-hem

Papillon - I go to NZ on the 18th Jan - so you beat me by 8 days! And like you, I can't wait! Time is flying by and now getting all 'a-quiver' with anticipation. - must arrange that meet-up in Tauranga though...

MrsJohnCuSackFullOfPresents · 08/12/2006 09:23

NZ census in the news at the moment, and all about how women outnumber men quite significantly now - especially in the 30-39 age group

weather in ChCH is pants by the way - still! I don't actually mind that much except my friends in the UK keep emailing and moaning how lucky we are to be having summer - when the UK is only about 2 degrees colder at the moment!

MerryPiffmas · 08/12/2006 09:57

My 2 brothers moved from NZ to UK they are 30 and 35
they have Aussie and Bulgarian girlfriends repectively
So that's two out of the mix.

Of course it does work the other way round where 'your' blokes go off traveling around the world and bag themselves a 'nice' english lass get her up the duff and drag her back screaming halfway round the planet. LOL!! Or course it was nothing like that, I'm not that nice and my Kiwi chap is a star and the only screaming I did was yeeha lets go

Papillon · 09/12/2006 06:48

so great to see the kiwi haven is happening Cool bananas

You dp is a star KJ and you must have abit of kiwi goer in ya, if you let him drag you to NZ screaming... hmmmm kinky
Get back to the Yoga girl! I did my first Pilates class yesterday and it was fab especially the bit where she made us roll our eyes around like a clock - was good fun iykwim!

theXmaskedposter - well what do you know, I fly in on the 18th - spend a week with my bro in SF first - so flying direct from there, so unlikely that we are on same flight?! I will email you once in country, as don´t know dates I will be in Tauranga. Will be great to meet you

anniemac you are right - if I did not want a vocation in Horticulture as well as be near the whanau, then I would be in Wellington, as have friends and family there. Bay is rural but with all those lush wineries - mmm now imaging a MN mini bus wine tour

MrsJC - not only a brain drain in NZ huh, but a lack of a certain something else. That census is abit scary - reminds me of New York, alot of the career woman of that age group 30-39 are single (and abit burly from working in male minded professions). My bro has an lovely Californian lady to add to the males who outsourced.

We shall be just back from two weeks in Wellie when you fly in, Papillon, Dp's folks are off on a wee cruise, a much deserved break and we're looking after their delightful shop and lovely apartment while their gone, lucky girly eh!
We are doing a stall and camping at the Organic River festie in Levin at the end of Jan festie , have you been to it, lots of stuff for the wee ones and for us too, would be great if we could see you there. Same goes for anyone else who is in the area of course.

kjaylovessantamum · 09/12/2006 08:58

I am, by the way, totally back on my yoga, I just had a little deviation away but can not live with out it as all other forms of stress relief just mess me up. It's quite addictive really and yes IDKWYM.

Anniemac hope your feeling ok about your up and coming flight I really do wish you all the best.

Would be quite a coincidence if folks, Papillon and the Xmasked were on the same flight but then it does seem to happen, we bumped into a really good friend of my Dps at Singapore the first time over and were on the same flight.
Would be cool if that happened to you Anniemac and you could enlist some help!

YuletidePaps · 11/12/2006 07:12

Hiya, the eco fest sounds fab. Looks like you can only pitch a tent??? Mum and Dad have a house truck which would be perfect! I am very interested in coming being quite into spiritual and eco ways

Glad your yoga is happening again, I did a Chi Ball class in the weekend (a mixture of pilates and yoga) was lovely and relaxing.

anniemac when are you flying??

Well what about you bringing the house truck in as part of the stall? We would have to check with the festie organizers but it would work for you cause we'd have you in as part of our set up and it'd be great for us as it would give us more structure to make the stall with. What do you think.

YuletidePaps · 12/12/2006 07:55

Sounds great - how many days are you there for? Will have to check with mum and dad to make sure she is road worthy and available then.

Fly in one months time

YuletidePaps · 13/12/2006 08:14

Its okay with the parents to have "Bertha" the house truck that weekend

kjaylovessantamum · 15/12/2006 08:19

wow that's really exciting, will get in touch with festie organisers and ask if we can bring it in then.
You will be pleased to know 'just about to fly girls' that New Zealand has been really showing off the last few days. After the hard slog of back to back hard winters I have just spent the last two days, with my DS, on the beach and it has been glorious. Kapiti is beckoning, has anyone been over to the island, it's a trip I really look forward to doing.
How blue is the sea here? I really feel we deserve this summer, Ds loves the beach and the sea, I am quite moved!!!
