Right-ho, we've been discussing this elsewhere but thought a seperate thread may be useful.

Concept was to have a sprog and non sprog meetup

Sprog - aquarium, thus far I think the best day was Monday, I know there are a lot of you 'popping' back to the UK back can we still manage May? I for one have no plans EVER.

Non sprog - Opera bar for a Saturday lunch again? When? First I could do is May 16.

Anybody fancy an (early) evening thing, also up for debate is the possible hunter valley trip? (thumb to be in charge)

We could always do another one nearer Christmas as well! I am good for 30th Oct, the Opera Bar always works well (if it's nice weather, anyway).

Wouldn't be able to do the 3rd/4th December (DS's birthday weekend) but I think the others are mostly free...

I could do one soon and one nearer to Christmas (am always up for some child-free time!)

Our washing machine broke down yesterday (with a load of nappies in it!) and as Fri is my only day off work I'll be spending it waiting in for the repair man. I won't find out what time they're likely to come until Fri morning.

If by some miracle they come out, fix it and leave before 11:30 we'll come along, if not we'll have to give it a miss

Bunny, that's ! And very :( so we'll keep FX that the repair man comes out at about 8am (workpeople tend to come insanely early here, I've noticed) so that you can come out and play.

Thumb - it's still under warranty so we're having to get it repaired by Electrolux, and their tradespeople don't start until 9 I think the average Aussie tradie is on their 4th or 5th job of the day by that point

Yes, exactly! However do Electrolux get away with being so slack?

Right, we're coming regardless. Even if NO ONE else turns up (and I hope that RedVelvetPoppy at least does!) we will be there. Unless something happens to DS or me between now and Friday morning, that is. (touch wood)

thumb if noone else can make it and you're heading down anyway, you can always come to mine and help me wait for the washing machine guy. He's supposed to ring 30mins before they arrive, so we could head out to one of the cafes or parks round here if you like.

Cool - if RedVelvetPoppy has to bow out as well, i'll do that Bunny! Saw Abithormonal on the last failed day so why not! But hopefully your washing machine will be repaired in time, and RVP will be hale and healthy and coming along to the Aquarium and all will be Fine. :)
I will of course have my trusty mobile on and fully charged - I was going to go the whole way by train but may change my mind and do half drive, half train. And, I could pop over to yours after the Aquarium trip if you like? Up to you (and DS's nap times of course) but we'll stay in touch and work something out. I still haven't met him and he's nearly 1!!

I'm with you thumb, I'll be there either way, I'm taking my minature matchbox car with the huge bugaboo to jubilee park lilyfield to catch the lightrail in, so we could have an afterparty in the park or around the 'hood.

I expect we can work something out, bunny! I'm going to drive in, I've pretty much decided, because it gives me more flexibility on leaving time - we'll get on the train at Roseville. I can't do the whole way because DH is off in Wollongong and he took the sat nav with him and there is no way I can navigate through Sydney without it!

Just as well I said I couldn't come - DS2 has been up all night with a really high temperature and screaming. Hope you all have a fab time - am very :( not to be there.

Oh, thanks for the reminder on the other threat thumb, I had completely forgotten about this Am still planning to make it. I had actually arranged to meet a Brighton MNer at the Opera House this Thursday when she's in Sydney on a flying visit but unfortunately it's fallen through. Maybe the Opera Bar should be the official MN meet up venue in Sydney

That would be thread, and Opera Bar, I've only had one glass of wine - honest!

wsh I had been able to see you Sunny :( so sorry it didn't work. LOVED Sydney tho :) On Gold Coast now for 10 days x
